Daltan again.
“Mackenzie! Hurry up or we’ll be late!” Dalton yelled to his roommate. The older boy was laying on one of the beds reading while Dalton paced in front of the door.
“You just want to eat breakfast.” Mackenzie grumbled, closing the book. Part of him wanted to help Dalton find his soulmate. His roommate could not see the color brown, so Mack figured that Dalton’s soulmate had brown eyes. There were several girls here with brown eyes, but the ones Mackenzie had already introduced him to were not his match.
“Yes! Because I’m hungry!” Dalton exclaimed, his eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
“Okay, Okay let’s go. Maybe we can find her today.” Mackenzie slid off the side of his bed and raced out of the door, knowing Dalton wasn’t far behind.
“That’s a slim chance,” Dalton sighed, stepping into the elevator. “All the girls so far haven’t been her.” He folded his arms and leaned against the wall. Dalton looked at his feet, frowning. What if he never found his soulmate? Would he die alone? Would he settle for someone else?
Mackenzie stepped out with Dalton, looking at all the other contestants with a warm smile. He noticed Tristan Mcintosh walk up to them, smiling as well. His eyes widened, realizing her eyes were brown, and the fact that she had never met Dalton.
“Hey Mack!” Tristan said with a chuckle.
“Hello! Have you met my roommate Dalton?” He asked, nudging Dalton with his elbow, causing him to look at Tristan also. Something in his expression changed. Something like... relief.
Tristan directed her attention to Dalton, glancing at his eyes, and for the first time, she saw the icy blue color her world had been lacking. She pushed it back and smiled. “Hey Dalton, I’m Tristan.”
Dalton smiled happily, and nodded. Her eyes were a spectacular brown color, which made him know he had found her. His soulmate. “Nice to meet you, Tris.”
Mackenzie watched as they talked, and when Tristan walked away, he looked at Dalton, who gave him a nod.
“That’s her. My soulmate. I finally found her.”
