POUSSEY WASHINGTONS DEATH HAD EVERYTHING TO DO WITH ALL THE SHIT Y’ALL ARE FIGHTING ABOUT

- being black was a factor                                                                                     

- being lesbian was a factor

- being in an interracial relationship was a factor

everything you guys are fighting about trying to prove what is the most important factor is irrelevant.... The reason she died was a combination of every factor about her. The fact that she was such a nice character was the reason she tried to help Suzanne in the first place... the lesbian and interracial relationship was an emotional connection we had made with the character, hence the heart wrenching part of it and the fact she was black affected the way the guard reacted. 

STOP FIGHTING ABOUT WHAT ASPECT OF HER WAS MORE OF A FACTOR IN HER DEATH. JUST RIP POUSSEY

OITNB Spoilers

I’ve been reading so many opinions on season 4 and how people feel like poussey’s death was ‘unjustified’ and ‘unnecessary’. If i’m honest, i think killing off poussey, as much as it was heartbreaking, was such a brave move on the writers part. Yes, she’s a lesbian poc character that was a clear fan favourite but that makes the choice all the more effective. Don’t you get that by everyone acting so disgusted over the unnecessary death of this character, OITNB are just highlighting the unnecessary deaths of ACTUAL prisoners and poc everyday??? They’re doing what writing is supposed to do. Most of you guys are just mad at the loss of your favourite character but you’re not looking at the big picture AT ALL.... 

shit like this happens all the time. y’all are just mad because it happened to a character you were invested in rather than a name you’ve never heard before. 

Congrats to the writers for creating an awareness because of OITNB, even if some people aren’t quite getting the point yet...
