The party was loud, students filled the fraternity, pushing up against each other as they danced to the music.
Sukuna lounged in a lawn chair outside, a beer bottle sat forgotten on the table. Gojo sat on the other side of the table, nursing some kind of fruity non-alcoholic beverage. Honestly, Sukuna would rather be anywhere but here — no, not anywhere. He would rather be with you, in your dorm, watching some crappy movie you picked out in your bed together.
“So…” Gojo began, flashing a grin at Sukuna, “You still with that girl?” A rough grunt rumbles in his chest, he hesitates for a moment before answering, “Obviously.”
Gojo laughs obnoxiously, “Seriously? You’re committed to this, man.” Sukuna reaches over, chugging the last of the now warm beer before answering. “Yeah, that’s the point. Isn’t it?”
There’s a foul taste in his mouth, though. Not from the alcohol, or the weed, or the crappy food Toji brought but the lies that seemed to roll off his tongue effortlessly.
“You’re taking this little bet quite seriously,” Gojo leaned back, casting a cocky grin over to Sukuna. His grip tightened around the bottle, “Don’t call her that.” The other man’s eyes widened slightly, bright blues shining from behind the tinted frame of his sunglasses. “Relax, it’s not like she’s anything serious.” Sukuna’s free hand balls into a fist, his nails dig into his palm as he grumbles, “Shut up.”
Gojo cocks a brow, smile faltering slightly at the other man’s words. “Don’t tell me pussy’s got you fucked up,” he jeers. It takes all of Sukuna’s strength not to crack his fist into Gojo’s face in that moment. Instead, he exhales through his nose and tries to ignore the taunts.
Truth be told, Sukuna had agreed to a bet. A bet to see how long he could last with you before breaking things off. You weren’t the most popular student at the college, in fact, Sukuna doesn’t remember a time when you actually hung out with anyone besides himself or that other nerdy friend of yours.
The frat brothers had decided you would be the next best target for their little games, offering Sukuna a shit ton of money for every month he stayed with you.
At first, he thought it would be easy. Sure you were pretty, funny, and kind but there wasn’t much else to you. Until he really started to get to know you. Sukuna found out just how brilliant you were, how smart and witty you are with your comebacks, and how you collect random trinkets that actually have a strangely poetic backstory.
Each day he spent with you revealed more and more about your personality and Sukuna realised that he had begun to fall for you. Not in the puppy crush way, but in a way that had his heart tightening every time he looked into your eyes. He remembers vividly how enthusiastic you were about some old ceramic ornaments you had found at the thrift store. His heart flipped in his chest at the way you rambled on and on about the vintage look and how perfect they would look in your dorm.
Dating you was the exact opposite of what he had thought it would be. Sukuna found himself enjoying the calmer parts of life, something he believed he hadn’t done since he was a child.
He recalls the time when the two of you had entered a strangely competitive game of Monopoly, how avid you had been about buying the entire row of squares.
“Ryo you suck at this,” you had teased, chucking the dice at him. Sukuna rolled his eyes, throwing the dice onto the board with more force than necessary. “Yeah? Didn’t know you had to have any skill to play this stupid game,” he retorted. Gasping in mock offence you bring your hand to your chest, “Uh of course you do. It takes strategy to win.” You giggled at his frustrated expression when his piece landed in jail for the third time this round. Despite his angry demeanour, Sukuna would take this over parties any day.
You seemed to understand him in ways no one else did.
He remembers when he got that fine, it had fucked up his day, after all reviving an extortionate fine was no dream of any college student. Though his demeanour remained cold you continued to try and make his day jusy a little bit brighter.
“Hey?” You had stopped by his last lecture, swaying back and forth on your toes as you spoke. “Hey.” He replied curtly, it wasn’t intentional but he was frankly fed up with everyone that day. “So…” you continued, “I picked up some of that meat you liked from the butchers, I was thinking we could cook something and have a later dinner if you wanted?”
Something twisted in Sukuna’s chest, something soft and fuzzy. He knew how much you hated that place, you claimed that the vibe was too “eerie.”
Had you really gone out of your way for him?
He asks one of the pledges to fetch him another drink and downs it in seconds. Gojo snickers behind his hand, “Stressed are we?” Sukuna scowls, standing up from the chair so quickly that it tipped over. “Where you off to? Taking your stress out on her or what?” He asks crudely before bursting into a fit of giggles. Sukuna huffs out an incoherent response, swaying lightly as he makes his way back into the frat house.
Picking up an extra beer or two he calls you.
You pick up on the third ring, “Ryo! Are you alright? Having fun?” He mumbles something about being too overwhelmed and needing to lie down.
“Can I come over? I can walk.”
By the time he reaches your dorm, it’s well into the night — it’d make more sense to say early morning, really. Immediately Sukuna flops into your bed despite your protests for him to change. “You reek of weed and cheap beer!”
“It wasn’t cheap,” he grumbles.
The alcohol begins to hit him, his brain goes fuzzy as he slips into a drunken headspace. He tugs you into bed with him, pulling you down onto his chest and wrapping his thick arms around you. Sukuna leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, then another, and another until you’re giggling in his arms.
“So pretty…” he mumbles hoarsely. You laugh softly, brushing his pink hair away from his forehead, “You’re so drunk.” Shaking his head he disagrees, “Nah, just like the view, s’all,” he slurs with an almost dopey smile.
Leaning in, you tenderly kiss him, moving your lips slowly against his own. The taste of alcohol lingers on his lips, mixed with the salt from his skin.
He smiles against your lips, “I’d stay with you forever, y’know that?”
You feel your heart skip a beat at his confession. “Yeah? You like me that much?”
“Mhm,” he agrees, head falling back against your pillows as he fights sleep. “Even if they stop paying me.”
The air suddenly felt thinner, as if the oxygen around you was immediately sucked out of the room when the words left his mouth. A second of silence passed while you stared at him. “… What?”
He hums absentmindedly, pressing lazy kisses along your jaw whilst his hands trail up your back. “You’re more interesting than they said you were…” his words begin to slur together. “You’re s’cute it makes me dizzy sometimes,” he admits quietly, running his calloused hand down your spine.
You barely register his words, your head spins, still stuck on his confession.
Paying him? What did that even mean?
“Gojo asked if I was still with you today,” he reminisces. “He doesn’t know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, paid or not.”
You cup his cheek, forcing his cloudy eyes to meet yours, “Ryomen, what are you talking about?” His brows pinch together momentarily before his entire face relaxes and his eyes begin to flutter shut. “You’re weird as shit… but I like that about you,” he yawns sleepily. “Maybe that’s why they chose you.” Your heart is beating a mile a minute, threatening to burst out of your chest at any moment. What on earth was he saying?
You can’t even force the words out of your mouth, your throat is dry and you can’t seem to breathe in.
“M’tired,” he murmurs and within seconds his breathing evens out. The room falls deathly silent, the only sounds being Sukuna’s soft breathing and your own frantic breathes.
Yuji was fourteen years old when he met his grand uncle, Sukuna.
It was at his grandpa’s funeral. The sixty year old man was a towering figure with a gaze that could make anyone cower in fear. For a brief moment, Yuji was terrified of living with this man. His life had already taken a drastic turn after witnessing his grandpa take his final breath. How much more will change when he’s living under the roof of someone he barely knew?
But then, after the funeral, Sukuna had placed a firm hand on his shoulder, squeezed it in a comforting manner and said: “Let's get you home, brat.”
After that, Yuji was as close to Sukuna as he used to be with Wasuke.
Sukuna had his own way of raising him. He was strict when he needed to be. He never discouraged Yuji from being who he was. He pretended to be annoyed by his sunshine attitude but never told him off for it.
But Yuji also noticed that his grand uncle was a lonely man. Sometimes he would catch him staring off with a brief distant look before replacing it with his usual frown.
---
“He needs to get laid.” Nobara said bluntly.
Megumi paused from taking a sip of his coffee and made a face.
“Nobara, I'm serious.” Yuji muttered while chewing on the straw of his slushy. “I'm just worried about him.”
“Then set him up on a date.” Nobara whipped out her phone, pulling up a dating app and showing it to her friends. “Here. Seen some old ladies looking for a good time. Make his profile. I'm sure someone would message him.”
“I don't know…” Yuji said, unsure.
“When was the last time you've seen him with someone?”
Yuji looked up in thought. It's been four years since Sukuna took him in.
“…Never.”
“Exactly.”
---
“Uncle, look up!”
Sukuna, busy writing in a journal, looked up to Yuji and heard the sound of him taking his photo.
The elder man raised his eyebrow. “What are you doing, brat?”
“Nothing.” Yuji's smile stretched in a way that was too suspicious as his grand nephew waved at him and backed out of his study.
Sukuna merely narrowed his eyes in suspicion. Oh, there was definitely something going on.
---
“I knew it. You were up to something.”
Yuji flinched as his phone was snatched out of his hands.
“W-Wait! Uncle Sukuna—!”
“What is this?” Sukuna sneered, his wrinkles and frown lines even more prominent as he stared at the phone.
Ryomen Sukuna. 64. Single. With the photo Yuji had taken earlier—of him in his study, sitting on his desk, the first few buttons of his dress shirt undone and eyes looking up at the camera.
“Brat.”
“I can explain!”
And the explanation Yuji gave him was not enough to cool him down. Yuji was sure he was about to get reprimanded by Sukuna in a way that not even his grandpa would think of.
“You dare interfere with my life?” Sukuna growled in a low, dangerous tone. “Delete this now.”
Ping!
Sukuna looked down at Yuji's phone. The mail icon on his profile showing a “1”.
Yuji was next to him, reaching over to press the icon. Opening the chat.
“Good evening.”
It was you. 60 years old. Your profile picture was a cropped family photo from a gathering. You were wearing a long, simple dress, a serene smile on your face, the crinkle in your eyes highlighting the soft lines on your forehead. Your grey hair tucked into your favorite hairstyle.
You were beautiful. Sukuna admitted.
And Yuji saw it. He saw the brief look of interest in his grand uncle's eyes and begged him to consider.
---
Sukuna had had his fair share of relationships. One night stands in his twenties. Something serious in his thirties. A few flings his forties.
But then his boredom took over. Sex was a chore. Flirting didn't interest him. He chose to ignore all the advances. Women batting their eyelashes, biting their lips, winking at him—he simply didn't care anymore.
But then Sukuna turned fifty and he felt off. He had achieved everything a man his age was capable of achieving in life and more than that. Yet, something felt missing.
It wasn't until he hit sixty and adopted his late brother's grandson when Sukuna realised something.
He was alone in this.
He was all alone in raising Yuji.
That's when the loneliness crashed into him.
Sukuna dealt with it the only way he knew how to—bury it deep within his mind and never think about it.
But the brat saw through him and despite Sukuna's reprimand for his actions—he found himself inviting you to coffee after a few exchange of words.
---
“Well, we're here—oh my god, grandma! There he is!”
You playfully glared at your granddaughter and shook your head exasperatedly, telling her to not point at people.
It was only fair that you fussed over her a bit since she was the one who set this all up. Your profile on that silly app on her phone and she eagerly showed you pictures of men around your age.
Alas, you think you are responsible for this too.
You always told your granddaughter to grow up surrounded by people who loved her. You knew what loneliness was. When you were a teenager, the father of your son had left you right after you gave birth to him. You juggled two jobs to raise your son in your twenties and thirties. But all that struggle paid off in your forties as you peppered his face with tearful kisses while sending him off to college with all the money you had saved, as you witness him marry the love of his life and welcome your beautiful granddaughter into this world.
But, despite the life you have lived, the aching gap in your heart left by that man was never felt. Your granddaughter saw it and urged you to look for love again. She wanted you to be happy just like her parents.
You always smiled at her, telling her that your time had passed to find love. But she was stubborn and persistent, telling you all the ways you could find someone for yourself. That these days it was easier.
So you reluctantly agreed to a dating profile.
And then one day, your granddaughter skipped over to you, showing you a candid photo of the most handsome man you had ever seen.
The longing in your heart only deepened.
---
You walked towards the man you were supposed to meet.
He was standing outside the coffee shop you agreed to meet him at.
You haven't felt this nervous since you were a high-school girl shyly gazing at your crush from afar. He didn't even look like he was 64—tall, broad shouldered and muscular. The only way you could tell he was around your age was his slicked back white hair with a hint of pink streaks and the wrinkles donning his tattooed face.
“… Mr. Ryomen?” You called out softly.
Sukuna turned towards you, red gaze locking with your own as he finally took in your apparence. You were wearing a long sundress with a jacket, pearl earrings and necklace and clutching a leather purse in your hands.
That cropped family photo didn't do justice to how pretty you actually were.
You smiled politely at him. “Good afternoon.”
Sukuna cleared his throat and nodded. “Good afternoon.”
Then there was an awkward silence. Neither of you knew what to do.
You tugged at your bracelet.
“I'm sorry if this is awkward, Mr. Ryomen. It's just—” You breathed out before admitting softly: “It's been far too long since I've done anything like this.”
Sukuna hummed, one hand slipping into his pocket. “It's… been a while for me as well.” He admitted stiffly but the way your shoulders relaxed in relief made his nervousness melt away.
You chuckled. “Far too much has changed these days, hasn't it? I never expected to meet you on these... apps.”
“Ha.” Sukuna snorted, his lips tilting in amusement. “I usually stay away from this nonsense but my brat of a grand nephew insisted and made my… profile.”
“Oh!” You gasped. “My granddaughter made mine!”
Sukuna found himself chuckling. “Ah, that would explain the girl standing behind you. She's been watching us with far too much enthusiasm.”
You turned to see your granddaughter standing across the road. She grinned and waved at you. You playfully gestured for her to leave.
“Don't mind her. She's just excited.” You said, turning back to him.
“Not at all.” Sukuna smirked. “I'm quite sure my grand nephew hasn't left either. If you spot a pink haired brat around here, just know that he's mine.”
You glanced around and easily spotted the pink haired boy with a black haired boy and a brunette girl watching the two of you. They tensed up when your gaze landed on them and quickly looked away, pretending like they didn't see you.
You burst into a hearty laughter.
“Oh, these kids.” You stated, but with a tone full of affection.
“Hmph. Tell me about it.”
You smiled at him, feeling a little bolder. “We can go inside and talk more about it, Mr. Ryomen.”
Sukuna smiled. Your heart leaping at just how handsome he was.
He stepped forward and opened the door to the coffee shop for you. “Just Sukuna is fine.”
“Sukuna.” You said, blushing softly when he placed his large hand on the small of your back and guided you inside. “Your name is lovely.”
Sukuna's gaze and smile softened at that. “And so is yours, petal.”
Fluff, Slight angst/comfort - You and Sukuna have been looking after Yuji and Choso for 3 months after the disappearance of Kaori and Jin Itadori.

"Mom never ever let me make cupcakes or anything, I used to make cereal sometimes but that's all." Choso spoke shyly as you helped him stir the batter for a fresh batch of cupcakes.
"Well you're only 5 so I'm sure she just didn't want you to get hurt in the kitchen." You smile, looking down at him standing on a stool and still being too short to mix the batter at a comfortable angle.
"Yeah." He nodded, going quiet again as you poured the mixture into a little jug for him to pour into the paper lined cupcake tray.
"Mrs Y/N can I please wash my hands first? they're sticky." He says softly, proving his words by showing you his tiny hands which were messy from the spoon falling into the batter one two many times.
"Sure honey." You laugh, watching him carefully step off the stool and drag it to the sink to wash his hands.
Ever since Kaori and Jin took off 3 months ago, their two beautiful children Choso and Yuji had been living with you and Sukuna, their only other living relatives.
Choso's broad vocabulary and good manners always stunned you. Despite only being 5, he was very perceptive and understanding of everything going on around him. His baby brother Yuji was a whole different story.
Yuji was only 9 and a half months old, and screamed like a banshee throughout the night if he was left to sleep alone, however he was as sweet as sugar when he was given everyone's utmost attention at all times.
"Mrs Y/N, is this okay?" Choso asked softly, snapping you back to reality. You were too lost in thought to notice that he was back at your side and had filled up a cup on the tray halfway with the batter.
"Well done Cho!" You smiled, clapping your hands together to encourage him to keep going.
Once all the cups were filled, you helped him put the tray in the oven and set the timer.
Sukuna and Yuji had left to go to the pediatrician a few hours before. That's when Choso had brought up the idea of baking something for his baby brother for being so brave.
"It'll take 20 minutes Cho, what do you wanna do while we wait?" You asked as you washed all the dirty dishes he passed to you.
"Uhm..." He looked up at the ceiling for a few moments, trying to come up with something before gasping softly when the idea popped into his head.
"Mr Sukuna always steps on my Legos in the living room... Maybe we can clean it up!" He smiled. He really was an amazing child. You wondered what kind of mother would even think to abandon such a sweet boy and her newborn baby and tears pricked at your eyes, threatening to spill down your cheeks. Choso noticed this and immediately changed his plan.
"If you don't like cleaning, Mrs Y/N, you don't have to, please don't cry." He said softly, guilt washing over his face.
"it's not that Cho, let's go clean it up, okay honey? I love doing anything as long as it's with you." You smiled, wiping your tears with one hand and taking hold of his hand with the other.
You both sat on the living room floor and gathered up his toys as well as Yujis teethers and plushies in silence until he spoke.
"Mrs Y/N?" He asked softly, moving to sit down infront of you. "When are my mom and Mr Jin coming back? Do you know?" He asked, his voice lacked any positive emotion, and you had a brief idea why, but refused to comment on it.
"I'm sorry baby, I don't know about that. If I did I'd definitely tell you okay?" You smile tightly, reaching out to tuck a strand of his long hair behind his ear.
"It's okay... I just don't want to be your and Mr Sukunas burden for too long, so I was just wondering." He said softly before going back to cleaning up his toys.
"Who taught you that word?" You ask, fighting a war within yourself to not burst into tears then and there.
"Burden? Oh. My mom. Is it a bad word?" He ask worriedly.
"it's not a bad word but... Choso you and Yuji could never be a burden to me and Mr Sukuna. Don't ever say something like that again okay? We love you both so much and I have so much fun with you everyday. You guys make our lives so much better." You couldn't fight your tears any longer, and Choso was confused, but he stood up and walked towards you anyway. He hugged your neck awkwardly and you returned the hug, pulling him down to sit in your lap on the floor.
"You're crushing me." Choso said softly after a few minutes and you both laughed as you finally released him.
"Cho I know it's hard to live in a different place and have different adults look after you, but this is your home as much as it is mine and Sukunas. Whatever you don't like, you tell me okay? It's your home too." You smiled, wiping your tears and moving his hair out of his face again.
Choso liked having long hair and got sad whenever Sukuna took him to a barber shop to get it trimmed.
"I have an idea!" You smiled, standing up and holding his hand as you walked through the house to your bedroom.
You instructed him to sit on the chair at the vanity and brushed out his hair which was already surprisingly knot free.
"I'll tie your hair back and you can tell me if you like it okay?" You smiled, looking at him nod through the mirror.
You parted his hair and tied it into two little buns on either side of the back of his head, and he smiled the entire time, liking his new hairstyle immediately.
"It looks like spiders!" He giggled, touching the tips of the extra hair that stuck out of the buns. "Thank you Mrs Y/N!" He added as he hopped off the chair to hug your waist.
"You're welcome Cho! Let's go check those cupcakes now!" You laughed softly to yourself when he looked at himself in every mirror in the house when you walked back to the kitchen.
The cupcakes were ready and you left them on the counter to cool as you both made a huge mess the frosting.
Choso piped the purple frosting in surprisingly neat spirals onto the cupcakes and helped wash up before Yuji's Bloody Mary screams could be heard from the apartment hallway.
"Not good" Choso said, looking up at you wide eyed and then back at the front door.
"Cool it brat, you want us to get evicted?" Sukuna said in a hushed voice before he unlocked the door and opened it.
Yuji was hysterical, wearing his little Hawaiin shirt to match Sukuna.
"Brat's been crying since we left." Sukuna sighed, kissing your cheek and handing the fussy baby over to you. "Before the shot, during the shot, after the shot, in the parking lot, at the carwash, just wah wah wah."
"Hello Mr Sukuna." Choso said softly, bowing his head respectfully.
"Yo. What have you two been up to huh? Something smells divine." Sukuna sniffed the air before his eyes landed on the tray of freshly baked cupcakes on the counter.
"Score one for Sukuna, zilch for Yuji." He smirked mischievously, snatching a cupcake off the counter.
You had managed to quieten down Yuji's screaming into quiet sobs when Sukuna came up behind you and showed Yuji the cupcake. His crying stopped immediately and was replaced with an adorable smile, showing off his four brand new teeth.
His joy was short lived as Sukuna devoured the entire cupcake infront of his nephews little grabby hands.
Yuji screamed as loud as he could and began crying again.
You turned around to see what he could possibly be crying for now and Sukuna was practically choking on the cupcake while laughing at the poor babies distress.
"This is why he cries all the time Sukuna, dammit! You always tease him, it's not funny you idiot!" You scolded Sukuna and Choso giggled from across the room. Sukuna kissed your cheek as an apology before retreating to your bedroom to probably shower and change out of the ridiculous outfit you chose for him.
You patted Yuji's back and walked to the kitchen to place him down in his high chair before breaking a small piece of the cupcake to feed him. You could tell that he enjoyed it by the excited screams he let out after each tiny bite.
"Can I feed him?" Choso asked, appearing next to you at the counter.
"Sure honey, just a tiny piece okay, too much sugar would be bad for him." You smile, letting Choso feed his brother a piece of cupcake.
"He looks like Mr Sukuna, it's so weird..." He said softly, more to himself than anything.
"Mhm. Mr Sukuna and Mr Jin are twins sweetie, so if Yuji looks like his daddy, then he'll look like Mr Sukuna too." You explained, watching him look over at his reflection in the microwave mirror.
"I look like nobody." He said softly, touching the birthmark on the bridge of his nose before returning his attention back to Yuji, who was so delighted to see his big brother, that his smiles grew bigger and bigger.
"You don't have to look like anybody Cho, being unique is so cool." You shrug, hoping to cheer him up.
"Mrs Y/N, I'm sorry about my mom and Mr Jin." He said softly, looking up at you again. "I wish my mom took me with her. You and Mr Sukuna shouldn't have to look after a stranger, it's not... It's not right." He said softly, with eyes darting around the room in a frenzy.
His breathing became quicker, and before you knew it, he was hyperventilating.
"Choso are you okay?" You asked, kneeling down infront of him. He shook his head no, and continued to look around rapidly, avoiding looking at your face.
"You're having a panic attack honey, I understand your fear, and I know it's awful right now, but it's gonna pass okay? I'm right here for you, I told you that earlier do you remember?" You smile, moving closer to him to take his hands in yours.
He nodded and you continued to speak.
"You aren't a burden or a stranger honey. You're a child, and we're adults who are so happy to care for you. You don't need to apologize for your mother, or for being here." You smiled at him, watching as his breathing began to slow when he registered your words and calm tone of voice.
"It doesn't matter what anyone says, I'm your auntie, and Sukuna's your uncle. You can call us whatever you want; auntie, uncle, Y/N, Sukuna, Mr, Mrs. Whatever you're comfortable with, but we'll always be your family, and family cares for one another." You nodded, and he mimicked your movements.
"It's almost dinner time so we should go wash up huh?" You ask after he finally calmed down.
"Yeah." He replied softly, turning away to walk to his room, passing Sukuna on the way out, who was dressed in his usual house clothes, sweats and an old band t-shirt.
Sukuna ruffled Choso's bangs before heading towards you and Yuji.
"Brat stops smiling as soon as I'm here, what a joke." He scoffed as he looked down at his baby nephew, not registering the intense sad look you gave him.
"What's up with you?" He asked after stealing one of Yuji's socks just to mess with him.
"Did you not hear what Choso said?" You whisper yell. "He's such an amazing kid Sukuna I wish you could know that as much as I do. He's just so full of sadness, did you know that? He just had a panic attack thinking about his mom. Where the fuck is your brother, huh?"
You spoke in hushed tones so Choso couldn't hear from his room.
"I've been asking around woman, nobody knows where that crack whore took him." Sukuna shrugged.
You shook your head, irritated with your husband, for being a jerk, and for being so insensitive towards both of his nephews.
"He feels like he's a stranger here because he's not blood related to you like Yuji or something." You sigh, and Sukuna laughed.
"That's dumb." He says, pulling off Yuji's other sock and holding both socks above the babies head where he couldn't reach, just to agitate him some more.
"He's 5, and if Yuji even begins to think about crying I will shove a cupcake so far up your ass, so help me God." You huffed, pinching your husband's arm til he stopped teasing Yuji.
"Jesus, who's got your panties in a twist? Certainly isn't me." He joked, badly.
"I'm trying to have a serious conversation and you're not listening. I want you to try and show Choso that you don't care about blood relation and all that shit. Show him that you love him as much as you love Yuji." You frown, looking up at him with a pleading expression.
"That kid is great, he's quiet, helpful, and he doesn't pull my hair out of my scalp, I do love him. This one here, I do not. Don't get it twisted." He said, pointing at Yuji with one of his little socks.
"I'm being serious Sukuna. Take him out one of the weekends when you're not working. Do stuff with him, talk with him more, he's really smart for his age. I know you'll hit it off." You smile.
"Yeah yeah, I'll find something to do woman, will that make you happy?" He sighs, looking down at your displeased look.
"Fine Y/N, I'll take him out this Friday, is that okay? We'll go to the theatre and see that new cartoon movie whatever that's playing, is that good enough? I'll take him for dinner and ice cream too?" He asked, and you stood on your toes to press a kiss against his lips as a 'yes, it's good enough'.

Most people never understood your relationship with Sukuna.
For the most part, you were a friendly, upbeat person—talking to strangers in line at the grocery store, talking up the baristas making your coffee orders, sharing recipes with call center agents when the call got too long.
Then there’s the big grumpy man that’s always standing right behind you, and he never fails to look miserable when doing so. Strangers will try to speak to him and he’ll either grunt in response or just pretend to not hear them at all. Same goes for baristas. The last time he spoke with customer service through the phone, the agent started the call off by saying they hoped he was having a good day so far—Sukuna got annoyed and grumbled, “no you fucking don’t,” in hopes that they’d stop with the pleasantries.
Overall, he’s just kind of a dick. They look at you and immediately think of some horrific scenario like Sukuna yelling at you for not having dinner done by the time he got home.
That brings them to the question: how do you two even get along?
And your answer to that is: you kinda don't.
But that's okay! You knew what you were signing up for and you don't regret it one bit. You love him, and you love making him angry. It's so easy, too. Who needs therapy when you can just stress him out? Exactly.

+1 i unhealthily yearn for a yearner like soft sukuna plssssss lordddddd 😩
a toji fushiguro fanfiction where he's trying to teach babygumi how to say 'dada' but he just says mama all the time. [from this ask.]
toji fushiguro x wife!reader ft. babygumi.
ⵌ sorry if there are any grammar errors!! im lowk flopping.. oh and art from @/thatsallitchief !
fatherhood had changed Toji in ways he'd never admit.
not dramatically, no. he's still grumpy, still impatient, and still looked permanently annoyed whenever someone interrupted his peace.
but somewhere along the way, he'd become the kind of man who could spent twenty minutes sitting on the floor with his baby doing absolutely nothing. and he somewhat enjoy it.
the apartment was quiet that afternoon.
sun spilled through the windows, warming the carpet where Megumi sat surrounded by his blocks.
Toji lounged on the couch, one arm draped over it, watching his son knock over a tower he'd the last spent 10 minutes building
Toji snorted at the delighted squeal Megumi let out. "Dumbass."
Megumi looked up, his face brightened instantly. then, he abandoned his blocks without hesitation.
he crawled straight into Toji's lap.
"There he is," Toji muttered, scooping him up and balancing him on
Megumi giggled as Toji pressed an absent kiss to the top of his head. the action was so natural it made you smiled at the sight.
Toji noticed. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like i'm acting cute or something."
you pointed. "Can you blame me? My husband and baby are over there being all domestic."
Megumi chose that moment to grab a handful of Toji's t-shirt and used it to pull himself upright. Toji immediately steadied him with one hand.
he rolled his eyes. "Domestic. Right."
your laughter filled the room. "See? He's being clingy with you!"
slowly, realization crossed his face. "... shut up." and you laughed once again.
hearing your voice made Megumi twisted around immediately in Toji's lap. the second he spotted you, he lightened up.
you waved at him, making him squeal. he started bouncing excitedly Toji had to tighten his hold before Megumi launched himself to the floor.
"Relax," he sighed. and Megumi completely ignored him.
tiny hands reached toward you, a string of babble followed.
"Hi, sweetie," you smiled at him.
Toji watched the interaction with narrowed eyes. he looked down at his son, then back at you.
a thought occured to him. "I wanna see if he can say dada," he said suddenly.
"Hm?" you hummed, sitting down next to him. "Oh, try it! I wanna see it too!"
Toji steadied Megumi on his lap before tapping a finger against his own chest.
"This is dada. daaa-da," he repeated, tapping his finger again. "Give it a shot, Megs."
Megumi stared up at him. you, on the other hand, already fighting smile.
he blinked once. twice. then his entire face brightened.
"Mama!"
your hand immediately flew to your mouth, trying to hold in your laugh. Toji's face didn't change, which is making it worse for you.
"No," he said slowly. "Dada,"
"Mama!" Megumi giggled.
"No, Megs—"
"Mamamamamama!" he babbles while kicking his feet excitedly.
you lost the battle and laughed. hard. earning a glare from Toji.
"Don't laugh."
"But he's being cute, 'ji!"
"He's doing this on purpose."
Toji looked back down on him.
"Listen carefully," he said, pointing to himself again. "Dada," then he pointed at you. "Mama."
Megumi followed the movement of his finger, good.
Toji nodded encouragingly. "Now, who is this?" he asked.
Megumi stared, you can see the gears in his head working. Toji waited, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. maybe he will get it right this time?
after a moment, Megumi pointed directly at Toji, a triumphant smile spread across his face.
"Mama."
you buried your face into you husband's shoulder, still laughing, while he looked like he'd just been betrayed.
"No, we're not done."
"We absolutely should be done," you giggled.
"We're making progress," he insisted.
"What progress, honey?"
"He pointed at me!"
"And then he called you mama."
Toji ignored you at that.
Megumi, meanwhile, had become fascinated with his dad's hair.
a tiny fist wrapped around his black locks and immediately pulled, making Toji wince.
"Ow," he winced. "You brat."
the little menace looked far too pleased with himself. Toji carefully pried the tiny finger from his hair.
"He's assaulting me."
Megumi reached for his hair again, but this time, Toji caught the attack before it could happen.
"Absolutely not."
the baby pouted, like actually pouted. just for two seconds though.. because something else caught his attention.
his tiny hands moved to Toji's face instead. you watched as Megumi pressed both palm against his father's cheeks, squishing them slightly.
"What's going on in that little head of yours, hm?" Toji muttered.
Megumi blinked. then, slowly, he reached forward.
a sloppy baby kiss landed on Toji's cheek.
you melted immediately. "Look how cute he is!"
Toji sighed. a long, defeated sigh. one large hand came up to ruffle Megumi's unruly hair.
"Yeah, yeah."
Megumi beamed again. "Mama."
Toji groaned and dropped his head against the couch. "He's unbelievable."
Megumi, completely unaware of the devastation he'd caused, snuggled into Toji's chest and let out a sleepy yawn. within seconds, his eyelids started drooping.
Toji's arm protectively tightened around him.
you leaned against Toji's shoulder, smiling at the sight.
after everything, Megumi had fallen asleep right where he was the happiest. in his dad's embrace.
he clicked his tongue. "I'm still gonna try to make him call me dada."
you laughed quietly. "Yeah, good luck with that."
Toji rolled his eyes. "You're not helping. at all."
but he didn't stop holding Megumi, not even a second.
husband!toji taking care of you after you give birth ♡
you finally understood the importance of the type of man you marry.
your whole body was weak, aching, and sore all over after giving birth. for the first couple days afterwards, you were pretty much bedridden at the hospital. but through every agonising hour, toji was by your side, refusing to leave, glued to an uncomfortable chair beside you.
after day two, you finally regained some energy and movement. the nurses suggested you try to walk and take a shower, get your body back into commission. toji refused to let anyone else help you, practically shooing the nurses away as he helps you out of bed, one strong arm around your waist as he walks you to the bathroom.
you limp a little, wincing still at the lingering pain between your legs. "can’t you just carry me like you usually do when i’m tired?" you whine, holding onto toji for dear life as you pad closer to the bathroom. "y’can do it, baby. few more steps, atta girl," he encourages, supporting you effortlessly with those strong arms.
honestly, you were dying for a hot shower. and to get out of the bulky pads you’re wearing to stop you from pissing yourself.
toji flicks the shower on, then turns back to you, carefully unfastening your maternity gown and letting it pool at your feet. he smiles gently at your still swollen belly, covered in stretch marks, rubbing it with two hands and feeling how empty and soft it was now. "gonna miss this bump."
you place your hands on his shoulders as he helps you out of your underwear, discarding the used pad with his bare hands like it wasn’t covered in all types of bodily fluid.
without an ounce of judgement, he sits you down on the toilet, holding your hand as you relieve yourself, gritting your teeth through the burning sensation. once you finish, you hold onto one of his arms as he wipes you gently, careful not to cause you any discomfort. “still sore?" he asks, leaning in to kiss your forehead.
you nod slowly, letting toji walk you to the shower, the warm droplets beginning to cascade down your skin. you look at him expectedly as the steam begins to fill the small bathroom. "yeah, i’m comin" he says, taking his own clothes off to join you.
your husband steps in with you, pressing his chest to your back, hands steady on your hips as he presses soft kisses to your neck. you sigh in relief, finally able to take a second to breathe after all the chaos.
toji takes the soap from your bag nearby, lathering you in it, then takes a soft sponge and washes you. he’s extra careful, hands unhurried as he cleans you, praising you with that low, gravelly voice. "been so strong these last few days, mama.”
he moves on to your hair, washing and conditioning it thoroughly, doing everything in his power to help you feel refreshed again. once he’s done, he holds you close once more, hands on your soft belly, chin resting on your shoulder.
it was pure bliss — serenity. you both stayed there for a while, enjoying every quiet moment you can get whilst the nurses took your baby for its checkup.
when you exit the shower, he’s already grabbing you a soft robe, helping you into it and grabbing you a fresh pad and pair of underwear. "hold onto me, there ya’ go," he says, slipping your underwear on, up to your knees and sitting you on the lid of the toilet.
he hadn’t even bothered to dry himself off yet, or grab a towel; you were his priority. always.
toji crouches in front of you, sticking your large pad to your underwear. you watch him with a smile, so careful, so focused. he then layers the pad with soothing compresses before helping you back onto your feet, pulling your underwear up and fastening your robe.
"feel ok?" he asks, tucking a stray, damp strand of hair behind your ear.
you smile and nod, too exhausted to dry or brush your hair. you limp back towards your bed, toji follows close behind you in case you fell — quickly grabbing a towel beforehand. he helps you back into bed, pulling the blanket back over you.
"need anythin’ else, baby?" he asks, perching on the end of your bed, hand over your thigh.
"a kiss before i nap for like another ten hours?" you smile, closing your eyes. without having to be asked twice, he leans over, kissing you softly — once on your cheek, once on your lips. "love you," he murmurs."
"mm, love you too."
the room grows silent as you settle in, resting your mind and body. he stays sat with you, rubbing your thigh, still shirtless and dripping wet.
"you better put a shirt on before the nurses come back," you mumble. "on it," he responds with a low chuckle, heading back towards the bathroom.
your friends always lower their voices when they ask, leaning over the cafe table with a nagging sense of concern, eyes tracking the faint, reddish-purple blooms peeking out from the collar of your shirt.
"is everything okay at home?"
"is he... violent to you?"
they whisper, because to strangers, ryōmen sukuna is a guy that could break someone in two just for breathing wrong. they look at his mountainous physique and immediately assume he’s striking you—that the wine-stained rose traces under your clothes are from hands raised in anger, because what else does a monster do with his strength?
you just stay quiet, pulling your sleeves down, given that you can't exactly tell them that the truth is so much more embarrassing.
because how do you explain that these deep, hand-shaped marks come from him getting a sudden, overwhelming rush of affection while you are just... existing?
the second you walk through the front door, he doesn't even let you take off your shoes before his thickset arms are securing your body against him. his face is entirely vacant, his expression as deadpan as if he were reviewing a tedious financial ledger while hauling you impossibly close; the desperate zeal of his hug making your lungs burn for every silver of air
“i missed you, baby,” the words are an incredibly sweet confession—completely at odds with his flat, menacing demeanor as he buries his face into the crook of your neck.
sukuna possesses absolutely no concept of his own magnitude, and when these sudden surges of intense adoration overtake him, his massive hands just react by pure instinct. his thick fingers dig deep into the meat of your arms, squeezing and kneading the flesh while he stares down at you with his crimson eyes tracing heart shapes. it is pure agony for your skin, a sharp ache that you know will turn into dark blooms by tomorrow.
“my pretty girl,” he mumbles, his lips caressing your skin in messy nuzzles before he sinks his sharp teeth down on your shoulder in a brutal display of fondness that makes you whine and arch into his chest; yet he gives your body no room to escape the extreme weight of his affection. his lower hands come up to cup your face, big thumbs pressing into your cheeks to hold you still while he overindulges in your scent.
a rare sensibility of content descends upon sukuna as he realizes: he is exactly where he wants to be.
୨୧ — When his daughter brings home her first potential boyfriend at fifteen, Sukuna doesn't say a word. He simply sits across from the terrified boy at the kitchen table, his fork clinking against the plate, the sound sharp in the tense air. The entire time, he maintains unblinking eye contact while you attempt to salvage the rest of the dinner conversation with meaningless small talk.
After about twenty minutes, Sukuna finally speaks, "You touch her wrong, they won't find enough of you to bury. Got it, boy?" The boy is out the door just as you bring out the dessert, and your daughter doesn't speak to her father for three days. But when rumors start to circulate that the same boy pressured another girl into something she didn't want, his daughter quietly finds him outside sipping on his favorite whiskey.
Sitting next to him -her shoulder pressed against his-, she whispers, "How did you know?" Sukuna just shrugs, but there's understanding in the silence between them. After that, she doesn't fight his "inspections" quite so hard. He's always been her protector after all.
︵︵︵ ๑❤︎๑ ︵︵︵
୨୧ — During a parent teaching conference, his daughter’s literature teacher suggests she might be "troubled"… due to her persistent interest in writing dark, violent stories… The teachers eyes flicker towards Sukuna’s tattoos and scars, suggesting it might be due to the home environment.
Wrong choice of words.
Before you can intervene, Sukuna leans forward and asks with a deadly calm, "You ever read Dostoyevsky? The fucking Bible?"
The teacher nods, shrinking back in his seat…
"All full of violence. All considered genius. My daughter’s writing isn’t the problem." His voice never rises, but the temperature in the room seems to drop a whole ten degrees as he continues. "Your small mind is."
Two weeks later, your daughter rushes home holding her regional writing trophy. Sukuna has her piece professionally framed and hung in the living room next day.
Because at the end of the day, that’s still his little girl.
sukuna’s clingy (he prefers the term “possessive”) even as he sleeps
i feel like sukuna sleeps holding you like you’re a hostage that’s going to wake up in the middle of the night and run away.
he’s the big spoon of course and he’s molded around your body like a puzzle piece. chest pressed seamlessly to your backside, one arm hooked around your neck in a loving? soft chokehold, the other curled over your waist, palm splayed over the natural plush of your tummy. your thighs up in fetal position between his, legs intertwined, feet touching, literally the whole nine yards. entirely unaware or uncaring of his size, but definitely aware of yours. hunched over you like a dragon protecting its glimmering mountain of gold and treasure.
and it’s that kind of embrace that seems uncomfortable or suffocating from the outside-looking-in, but it’s actually the best sleep you’ve gotten in years and the only way you can sleep now. it’s the kind that has you snoring when you never snore. the kind that has you waking up looking like a skrunkly cat after a good nap.
his steady heartbeat thrumming against your back and counting sheep for you, your chin tucked in his inner elbow as you drool all over it, head effortlessly perched at just the right angle on his meaty bicep instead of that flat and lifeless pillow that gives you a crick in your neck. your body grounded with the comforting weight of his heavy arm strewn over it, the gentle heat of his thumb stroking on your lower abdomen, the pressure you usually carry in your lower back gone because your legs are elevated due to the beefy mass that’s under them. it’s like he’s your custom made body pillow.
and if you need to pee in the middle the night you’ll have to smack his arm to get him to unfurl his tired limbs with a grunt because he sleeps like he’s dead. he’ll follow you there even when you tell him to stay in bed, heavy feet dragging behind you across the cool vinyl, one sock missing and his loose sleep pants hanging off his hips.
“hurry up, m’cold.” he’ll rub his eyes and grumble groggily as if you forced him to come with you.
he’s just standing in the dark bathroom with his arms crossed, eyes drifting back to a close while he sways like he’s on a ship. then he’s glaring at the doorframe with the most adorable, sleepy scowl on his face after he stumbles into it on accident, like someone put it there just to spite him. that is until he deems it worthy enough to lean on, a loud yawn blooming from the drowsy, messy-haired giant who’s patiently waiting to crawl back into bed with you.
♡ sukuna realizes that he does get jealous after all. . .
series masterlist
sukuna will say this very seriously, he does not get jealous. the emotion itself is beneath him.
that is until yuji coming home from school, jumping in place.
“i made a friend today!!”
“you did?” you ask. “so what are they like?”
“his name’s megumi and he likes dogs and dinosaurs too and he traded me his pudding because i gave him my chocolate!”
yuji keeps talking without stopping.
“and he’s really quiet but he laughed when i scared a pigeon away and megumi said maybe we can go to the park together and can we please please please—”
“ji— okay, okay,” you laugh. “slow down.”
his eyes widen instantly. “really?!”
“if megumi’s dad says yes, sure.”
yuji cheers.
later that week you end up exchanging numbers with megumi’s father after pickup.
toji fushiguro, he introduced himself— pretty tall, scar across his mouth, seems normal enough, though.
the playdate gets set for saturday afternoon, and sukuna seems pretty indifferent to it or at least he pretends to.
“you’re taking yuji to the park?” he asks while scrolling through his phone.
“mhm.”
“so, who’s the kid— or more like, you know their parent?”
“well.. a little?” you say thoughtfully. “toji fushiguro.. i think?”
“…fushiguro?”
you blink. “hm? you know him?”
“used to run in similar circles.” sukuna looks deeply annoyed already. “guy’s a pain in the ass.”
“well.. he seemed nice?”
“that’s because the guy likes pretending.”
you snort. “you’re dramatic, it’ll be fiiine.”
“i’m serious.”
“baby, i’m going to a playground. not a nightclub.”
sukuna looks at you for a long second, then sighs.
“fine, do what you want.”
which, surprisingly, he actually means— he fully intends to let you have your little park day in peace.
because really.. what could happen?
apparently a lot.
because now sukuna’s standing outside a convenience store a few minutes away while staring at his phone with growing irritation.
he just cannot stay at home while knowing you’re out with that damned black-haired man, so he lasts another three minutes before getting back in his car.
meanwhile, you’re sitting at the park bench while yuji and megumi run toward the playground together.
“be careful!” you call after them.
toji sits beside you a second later holding two juice boxes and an iced coffee.
“kid asked me to bring extras,” he says, handing you the iced coffee.
“thanks!”
“don’t mention it.”
for a while it’s easy and comfortable, you talk while the boys play. mostly about school— how both boys have been doing, how megumi apparently refuses to sleep without his stuffed wolf, how yuji always has endless energy no matter what.
“so.. that your kid, right?” toji asks eventually, nodding toward yuji.
you smile. “well no.. but technically my nephew.”
“could’ve fooled me.”
you shrug slightly. “he does feel like my own, though.”
“clearly.”
talking to toji is surprisingly easy, the guys laid back, which is probably why the next thing out of his mouth makes you second guess.
“you single?”
oh..
but before you can even answer, another voice cuts in.
“no, she‘s not.”
you look up immediately.
sukuna stands there behind both of you wearing all black with sunglasses pushed into his hair.
he looks weirdly calm, which means he definitely heard enough to annoy him.
toji glances between both of you once before leaning back slightly.
“oh! what are you doing here?” you say surprised.
“was just getting something to drink.”
“from the park..?”
“eh, crazy coincidence.”
toji snorts quietly beside you— big mistake, because sukuna’s eyes immediately slide toward him.
“fushiguro.”
“ryomen.”
you can absolutely feel the tension in the air.
you look between them slowly. “oh my god.. you actually know each other.”
“unfortunately,” they say at the exact same time.
yuji spots sukuna from across the playground and immediately lights up.
“UNCLE KUNA!!”
he abandons megumi and runs across the grass at full speed before slamming directly into sukuna’s legs.
sukuna just rests a hand on yuji’s head. “now get off me brat, you’re sweaty.”
“we were racing!”
“that so?”
“i won!”
megumi finally walks over, hands shoved into his little pockets.
“yuji cheated..” he says quietly.
“did not!”
“you pushed me!”
you’re trying not to laugh while yuji now clings to sukuna’s arm, and you get up to approach both.
toji watches the interaction for a second, then he looks back at you.
“…damn my bad,” he says finally. “cute little family you got there.”
sukuna goes quiet for a second, then his arm hooks around your waist possessively.
“exactly,” he says. “know where you stand, fushiguro.”
ᢉ𐭩 fem!reader, nephew!yuji worries about you when you and unckuna have an argument
it was a friday afternoon, and you were tired of sukuna never listening to your words. you curled into yourself, desperate for warmth in your cold and lonely bed, with the silent house. something was wrong.
the door creaked open just a smidge, and tiny footsteps came in, along with soft sniffles and hiccups that came from what sounded like to be yuji.
when you looked down with your eyebrows furrowed, all of your irritation was driven away when a tear-stained yuji stood by the side of your bed. you could almost feel your heart breaking into millions of pieces as he gazed up at you with a pout, with his glossy eyes and with his hands that grabbed the covers.
“oh, yuji,” you cooed, then you picked him up by the armpits and sat him on your lap, “what’s wrong, baby?”
you could hardly hear his voice over his sobs, “do you- hic- not love hic- kuna anymwore?”
you wiped at his tears, “i still love him, yuji, we just need a couple of hours away from each other, you shouldn’t be worried about this stuff.”
“please don’t leave us! i’ll- i’ll miss you, and- hic- kuna looks at photos of you like-like all the time! you’re on his phone and he talks to me about you even though he- hic- told me not to tell you!” he wailed.
he babbled on and on, snot and tears soaked your shirt as he gripped the cloth in his little fists like he was scared you’d leave. it isn’t until you placed a small, reassuring kiss on his forehead that his sobs softened to sniffles.
“i’m not leaving you two, okay?” you whispered, then focused his glossy brown eyes.
he whimpered and nodded, but his head snapped toward the bedroom door when it creaked open. his little eyebrows furrowed as he clung on tighter to you when he saw sukuna in the doorway.
“no!” yuji exclaimed as sukuna began to step closer, then held an arm out to somehow protect you, “you made her sad!”
“that’s why i’m here to apologize, brat. leave so i can do this in private.” he argued, then rolled his eyes as he sat down on the bed next to you.
yuji grumbled and pushed him with all his might, but to no avail. “go away!” he shouted. sukuna only laughed, then gently pushed yuji as he toppled onto you.
but during a moment of silence, yuji still held onto you, then embraced you into a tiny but tight hug, and he still frowned at sukuna, while he tried his best to intimidate him.
“i didn’t mean what i said,” he mumbled, as he ashamedly looked down at the sheets, “i’m an asshole, i know that. but i’m trying to be better for you… and for this little runt here too.” he ruffled yuji’s messy hair, who huffed in protest. sukuna continued, “i’m sorry. i’ll be more considerate of your words next time,” he caressed your soft hand in his tattooed one.
yuji slowly looked back up at you with red around his eyes, “does this mean we can still have movie fridays after school?”he whispered.
“yes,” you smiled, “thank you for apologizing, kuna,” you murmured, “i love you.”
he reciprocated the words, and when you two left a kiss on each other’s lips, yuji let out a little ‘yuck!’ with a soft giggle.
suddenly, like a little boy his age who couldn’t focus on anything for more than five minutes, he ran out of the room and yelled, “i’m picking the movie!”
hope u guys like this! gonna work on another kuna requests… maybe hybrid tiger kuna
pls send in requests
trying to do more past tense, tell me if there’s any grammar mistakes besides capitalization
a/n: first attempt at fluff and a short drabble (I think?), need to work on imagery more but I’m kinda proud of this ngl
When you told your husband, Sukuna, that you were expecting, he was elated. Don’t get me wrong he was worried as well, he wasn’t used to being soft until he met you, and you changed the way he viewed the world.
However when you both found out you were expecting a girl, he couldn’t be more happy. He launched himself into baby prepping, decorating the nursery, thoroughly researching a reliable car seat, and setting up her college tuition, which you thought was ridiculous as you’re only 5 months into your pregnancy.
When your baby girl finally blessed his world, he sobbed. It was very unlike him, he didn’t even sob this hard at the wedding! He was an angel throughout postpartum, never letting you stay up for too long, waking up to feed your baby and changing her diaper throughout the night so you could catch up on sleep.
Although, Sukuna opting to spend more time with the baby had ulterior motives. He wanted his daughter to be a daddy’s girl. He wanted to go on daddy daughter dates, dances and what not with his beloved daughter. He wanted to be the perfect father, the one he never had. He tried to make the best of his time spending with her, as she always spent more with you anyway.
To his surprise, she much rather be with you than with Sukuna. When she’s sobbing her poor little heart out at night while she lays in her crib, Sukuna tries and I mean really tries to comfort her but unfortunately she’d much rather be comforted by her mommy.
Sukuna tried many ways to make her first words be “dada”. Showing wedding pictures of both of you to your daughter,
“This is dada, da-da” he points to himself in the picture while your baby sits in her high chair waiting for her food.
“And this is Mother, mother” he said while pointing at you.
Your baby however, unamused. She’d been saying “mama” these past few weeks, Sukuna just never heard for it himself.
“So your first word better be ‘dada’. I buy you everything you need and even that ugly ‘labubu’ thing that everyone has these days.” He says while feeding the baby.
“I’m home!” You walk through the front door, before closing it and heading towards the dining room right next to the kitchen. “How are my favorite people doing?” You say while setting your things down at the table.
Much to Sukunas dismay, your daughter uttered words he never thought he’d hear first. “Mama!” She giggled, reaching out her tiny little arms while you approached her and kissed her plump cheeks.
“Hi baby! I missed you. I hope daddy wasn’t troubling you too much.”
He grumbled, “We were doing just fine.”
You glance at the wedding pictures in his hand, “why do you have our wedding photos?”
He sighed, “I was trying to get her to say ‘dada’, but apparently she has a favorite parent and it’s not me.”
“I mean.. I am her mother.”
“And I am her father..” he scrunched his eyebrows. “Are we both just stating facts here?”
“Look kuna, she doesn’t have a favorite parent! And besides I carried her for 9 months. I had terrible morning sickness throughout all of it. I think her preferring me is what I deserve.”
“You’re right, you did go through all of that.” He sighed and placed a tender kiss on your temple.
satoru gojo with a baby who looks exactly like you.
his genes didn't even try. not a speck of white in his baby girl's hair, not a sliver of crystal blue in her eyes. she's all you—from the eyes to the nose to the laugh. good lord, satoru has been blessed by the gods.
he fell in love with her the moment the doctor handed you the little bundle of joy. and when he first carried her? you just laugh at the way he almost melts to the floor.
everytime he gets home from missions, he goes straight to where you're playing with mini you. his daughter giggles upon seeing her dad. he crashes on top of the two of you, careful not to squish neither of you. first and foremost, he kisses you. then, the baby. then back to you, then back to her—it goes on and on until you go and tell him to shower.
at night when your daughter makes a fuss, it's satoru who gets up and soothes her. he carries her over to your shared room, lays her in the space between, and talks to her about anything—his latest mission, his students, her big brother megumi, how the two of you met, his bestfriend suguru, her uncle nanami, her aunt shoko.
all the while, his baby listens earnestly, eyes wide and curious like yours. she even responds sometimes! no, she can't talk yet, but she's already a good listener.
"maybe we should take you to see uncle suguru. do you miss him? who do you miss more, him or papa?"
"ah."
"there's only one answer to that. why are you hesitating?" he pokes her cheek, and holds back the urge to bite and chomp.
"ba.."
"papa? yes! that's right. you miss papa more, right?"
"ma!"
satoru gasps dramatically, "mama? you're already with her 24/7!" your baby grins, and he's in awe by how much of you he sees in her.
he picks her up with ease, and settles her on top of him. he glances at your sleeping form, "you look like your mom, you know?"
your baby also glances at you, one hand reaching out before satoru grabs her little wrist and holds it to his chest. "mama's sleeping. she's tired, we need to let her rest."
your daughter babbles, "ma-ma-ma."
"yes, mama. you look like mama. that means you're also pretty and beautiful." he kisses her cheek.
"pi. pi!"
satoru nods in understanding, acting like your baby just said something revolutionary. "yes. pretty. that's you," he pinches her nose, she huffs. "and mama. my pretty girls."
"when you grow up, you need to marry someone who'll preach your beauty like how i do to your mom, okay? never date a boy who doesn't tell you how beautiful you are every passing day." satoru whispers, eyes locked onto an identical pair to yours.
his daughter only yawns in response, dropping her head into his sternum. satoru adjusts her so she's laying on her back in the middle of you two. instinctively, your baby wiggles around, searching for your warmth in her sleep. satoru only sighs with a smile. what a velcro baby he's raising.
