Anon who sent me the long ask last night, I don’t want to post it because it’s full of things I know have been stated as fact on that awful website. I’ve been sent previous asks with the same things from there and it doesn’t take much fact checking to disprove most of those idiots, or at the very least prove they couldn’t possibly know the things they’re spouting.

People are too quick to read things and run with them so I don’t want to influence that.

Sorry to go back to the Leah conversation but honestly all those horrible comments about her performance on Friday just isn’t on. Like I understand she didn’t play her best football on Friday but it also wasn’t just her and people saying things like she’s finished etc really isn’t on at all. I think everyone’s forgetting that other players such as alexia putellas had some interesting performances after she came back from a major injury, it’s gonna happen and Leah hasn’t been playing professionally for a whole year. Also tbh her performance before this game was acc good, one bad game isn’t ideal but it’s gonna happen. It just didn’t help that everyone else on the team was also off 😂😭 low-key think jonas also made a bad decision making Leah play for The full 90 should have gotta Codina on, he’s definitely pushing her to come back wayyy too quickly

Again, there’s a huge problem in woso that no one wants to address and that’s the dramatisation of everything that happens.

It goes both ways, some people overdramatise the hate a player is getting when really it’s just a bunch of people talking about football, some people dramatise the players performances and say stuff like she’s finished (I haven’t read that anywhere but I tend to avoid places where that might be said, I’m just talking your word for it lol).

I could talk for hours about this, I think it will eventually be the thing to stunt the growth of the game, but people are too afraid to hear it so I just keep my little mouth shut🤫

Another thing to remember is that a lot of people are first time watchers of football. They aren’t used to seeing how returning from injury doesn’t mean you’re back at your peak. In time, those people will experience that more and be more aware of the setbacks that occur. I try to be a bit more open minded about it.

They’re obviously at least friends but could there be more? I’m not convinced mainly because of how long we’ve seen them together for and nothing has changed in terms of posting. But then I question myself when I think about G basically being Leah’s plus on to Alex Scott’s birthday and things like that lol

We knew not to do this when we were 18, in college and not famous in the least bit. To say you have to learn to not do this is ridiculous for a grown ass adult.

Our lives aren’t scrutinised in that way.

She posted an innocent picture of her friend at a play. She didn’t post a picture of herself blind drunk or even out at 2am.

Was it a silly idea to post? Yeah. Is it the reason the team lost yesterday? No.

Learning to handle fame isn’t something any of us know at 18 (unless we were famous before then). Thats why celebrities make mistakes, all of them.

I mean it doesn’t take that much common sense to not post a night out the night before one of the biggest games of the season. Shouldn’t have been out anyway.

You say this, but realistically she probably didn’t see issue with posting it. She wasn’t mad partying and wanted to support her friend. Like I said, I had my own internal thoughts on it, but mostly that she shouldn’t have posted it because of the potential backlash.

Fame is a learning curve. Same way we’ve watched her take steps that have come from learning. For example, her friends going more private, being careful not post private places live etc. You have to remember that two years ago, she could pretty much post whatever without having to think twice. That’s a lot for anyone to adapt to.

Being outside of that world and thinking of the decisions you would make are totally different to being inside it.

That post was just comical to me 😂 if Leah posts or is active on insta round the same time as her mates that means she’s dating them 💀 I post the same time as ex coworkers or best mates sometimes doesn’t mean anything. Do they think Leah and anyone she would date would have a designated time to use their socials 💀💀💀 like are they 12?

and yeah tbh I completely agree with you I did think it wasn’t wise to post that especially with her friend having wine in her hand (not saying Leah drank) it looked like they were having a night out the night before a match. Yeah, I think that comes down to a major underlying issues in woso that I would go as far as to say threatens the growth. I won’t get into it because I don’t want to bore you, but it’s a real issue.

Yeah, it was definitely about the way it could’ve been interpreted. I feel for her, I really do. Of all the people who have come from that England team after the Euros, she’s definitely the one who has gained and suffered the most from it. It must be hard to maintain a balance between hatred and gratefulness.

Yeah, this is another show of the players being thrust into the limelight and not having the knowledge of the spotlight yet. Everyone thinks Leah is some fame-expert, but she’s not there yet. It’s important to remember that.

They were so used to posting whatever, whenever, and it must be so difficult to have to think twice about posting a congratulations to their friends.

I do think it’s important to have these conversations, but when they spill onto sites we know players see (X, TikTok), I take issue with it.

have you seen that Twitter account that is for some reason dead set on the idea of Tobin and Leah dating with absolutely no proof whatsoever 😂 they literally pull proof out of nowhere. Their latest ‘proof’ is that Leah and Tobin posted round the same day. Tobin 4 minutes after Leah and now apparently if Leah posts on instagram or is on instagram the same time as her friends that means she is dating them.

there’s also an account literally dedicated to replying to EVERY Leah tweet saying she went out partying with Grace the night before the match. When their mutual friend had a show. Idk if it was an exhibition or a play but she didn’t go out partying with grace. Leah and Grace went to support their mutual friend Sian. Sian had all her friends there.

No, but I’ve came across accounts like that before. Best to just ignore them, most of the time those accounts don’t actually believe their own rumours, they just want a reaction.

Going to become public enemy number one for this, but I did see Leah’s story the other night and my first thought was that if she was going to be out at that time the night before match day, she really should’ve been sensible enough not to post it. You guys can come at me if you want, but regardless of kick off time, advertising that you’re doing anything the night before match day isn’t wise because if the match goes wrong, fans will inevitably look for things players did wrong.

Would just like to point out that I don’t think it has anything to do with the performance last night. The entire team was off and something more team-wide was going on.

I’m all for players having lives outside of football and I’m always reluctant to pass comment on their approaches to recovery/rest because the pressure these women are under after years of going relatively unnoticed is crazy, but it did cross my mind that it was a bit of a late night before match day. Especially an evening game because you have to retain your energy and focus all day.

I would never post things like that outside of Tumblr, though. It’s just another case of people having absolutely no idea of the impact of their words online.

Aware I’ve probably just made everyone extremely angry so I apologise in advance.

General: character A hurts character B. Character B gets in terrible accident. Character A rushes to bedside and tells character B they can’t live without them now they know how that would feel. Character A and B ride off into the sunset. In reality, I’d be telling character A to piss off.

Specific: someone, a long time ago in a land far away, wrote a sex scene in a woso fic that depicted someone getting endless hours of pleasure from a tongue “diving in and pressing against their g spot”. Now all the inexperienced people (not hate, everyone starts somewhere and there’s nothing wrong with being inexperienced and still writing) think that’s a normal thing. It isn’t and it’s also impossible unless you’re a lizard😂
