what does jackles longcon mean

Hi! From my understanding it’s a joke that we assume Jensen must have been positive with Destiel for quite some time now, at least before 15x18, and the fact that Jensen now chooses to only mention and support 15x18 is a continuation of this “longcon”

Many of us are hoping for him to not say anything to avoid him praising the finale, but so far he’s been selectively only talking about 15x18 which is surprising, but I’m happy about :P

I'm so torn between Dean rescues Cas from the empty without his grace so they can grow old together and go to heaven together and Dean and Cas are reuinted in heaven where Cas can both spend an eternity with Dean but also finally reconnect with his family and "serve" a God who is kind and loving rather than being at odds with what he is all the time.

I believe the latter is genuinely canon but that doesn't stop the former being a huge missed opportunity that would have given us an ending where the story continues rather than one where the world no longer has the Winchesters in it. It's much more comforting to imagine them out there somewhere watching old movies and grumbling about aches and pains than to have to be content with the fact they have a perfect afterlife.

Hi!! As it is I don't have a full constructed headcanon on that ending, but I choose to believe that Dean and Cas found each other again and that Dean got to speak his truth to his angel. They're together in Heaven and they're happy, and that's literally all that matters to me!

okay horrifically unorganized essay time!! after thinking very long and hard about it i have come to the conclusion that while longcon ackles theory (as HILARIOUS as it is and as much as i enjoy joking about it) is probably not true, i do think that jensen, within the last year or so, changed his mind about destiel to the point of seeing it as a two-sided romance where dean does indeed love cas back, and i would like to present the evidence:

Saying that Dean is "still beautiful. Still Dean Winchester" is implying that Cas has always found Dean beautiful. This isn't a recent feeling he's developed. Its also saying beauty is Dean Winchester and Dean Winchester is the definition of beauty (at least to Cas). Dean and beauty are the same thing. That Dean is the literal human embodiment of beauty. And I think that in itself.....is beautiful.
