She practically leapt backwards, yanking out of his grip on pure instinct, with those terrifying teeth bared. It took a mere moment for her to realise he meant no harm, but she couldn’t be too wary..
Straightening back up again and slipping the warning snarl from her face, the vampire stared at the other redhead, this time speaking once more so that he could hear, as though to confirm her fuzzy memory
"Walter?"
In response to her violent movement, he took step back immediately, covering himself with blackened hands and tripping into snow with quiet yelp. He peeked at her slowly over his arms.
"Yeah. Yeah it’s me, Walter. Remember? We’re friends. Right? Walter. Walter Firelly." He was talking to her calmly, standing up from snow, amending his clothes.
"Friend..right, right." Though she seemed to calm slightly, those blackened eyes still stared warily from underneath the mane of fire, as if expecting attack at any moment. Wandering closer ever-so-slightly, the vampiress never dropped her unblinking gaze from Walter, his vision still wavering and flickering before her eyes. She didn't trust this one bit, coiled like a spring ready to fight in case whatever that giant...thing she saw were to reveal itself. But she thought perhaps she might at least entertain the beast for the moment, while she got a bearing on it.
Crunch crunch crunch. Snow was creaking under his boots when aviator was continuing his never ending journey around the Island. Now he had to take care not only after his rabbits, but his dumb twin sister too, why would she come here after him!...

Long gone friend
Crunch crunch crunch. Snow was creaking under his boots when aviator was continuing his never ending journey around the Island. Now he had to take care not only after his rabbits, but his dumb twin sister too, why would she come here after him! Still mad about this, he was mumbling to himself under his breath, walking through the snowdrifts. Another flash of red hair. He blinked. There was not so many women with this tint of red beside Sabina. It could mean only one thing. “CAROLYNN!”
A voice reaching her ears. A voice? Of whom? Internal dialogue flicked through her brain in a flash, foggy memories fighting through the black of the wilds.
Her head turned quickly, the eyes resting on a figure approaching. Who was this? Why was he yelling? Why was it..the figure hazed before her eyes, switching to a monstrous thing, then back again. Memory stirred, the vampire giving a quiet mutter "Walter?.." Yes, she could be sure that was his name.
She took a step back as the fog rocked her brain once more, this time twisting to face the other full on as the eyes of black flicked over him, seeing both monster and man shifting in her eyes.
Also I'm gonna be making a big move
Switching this blog over accounts, a big transfer I'll definitely tag all my followers in a new post first thing on the moved blog though! Hopefully then I'll be able robe much more active and manage my blogs better ^_^
The wind that howled through the grasslands was not gentle for her return, and unlike last time the vampire had not returned with a smile on her face. Though she met with familiar lands, the sight of campsites and smoke rising over the lands did not comfort her as it once had. Staring at the rising strands of black with eyes blacker than sin, Carolynn merely shifted in her cloak of fur, the onyx orbs narrowing a little. Why had she returned? It had been so long. For..friends?...she must have. It would be strange to be around people again after such a long time in the wilds, in the solitary silence that she had grown accustomed to. Fiery hair no longer tied and restrained whipped in the blowing gale, thrashing past a face etched not with a smile, but with a cold calmness. 'She' was back-as much of her there was left.
So what if… Baby Chesters.
I sincerely think this should be a thing. A baby “Chester” would inevitably sleep a lot, teeth on your things, and in the most adorable way, out of instinct, would want to help you carry things. Most likely they could only handle one small object, a flower or a few berries, but they would always be so happy to help.

"Walter!!" A voice called from nearby, the woman speeding up to...wait, who was this?? "Walter? Did one of those greyfaced put a spell on you again?"
Sabina raised her eyebrow at this strange question. Grayfaced? Spell? What she was talking about?
"I’m not Walter and I don’t recall anyone casting any spell on me." She stood up dusting her pants. "I’m Sabina, his twin sister… Wait. WAIT. YOU KNOW WALTER. IS HE SOMEWHERE IN NEARBY?" She turned around looking for her brother. "He just dissappeared months ago! You saw him?!"
"Sabina.....hmm" She tapped her chin, looking about "I don't know if Walter mentioned you but.." then it hit. If she was here...then where was Walter? "That is actually a very good question. Where is Walter?" The woman turned, pacing back and forth. Had these greyfaced taken him in replacement of his sister? Or had they simply brought her here? Two Firellys, that's far too much for one island to handle. "He could possibly be on the isle but....even so, why would they bring you here? If not maybe to mess with him... who knows, they're sadistic little things.."
There was a disturbance nearby, as a being shrouded in thick furs seemingly stalked about Wilbur's camp, their face hidden behind the shaggy pelts that they wore
The farrier had been tending to the camp walls. The stone was near five foot tall, four bricks thick. He had been adamant in building it as thick and as strong as he dared. There where still gaps, one at the camp’s rear facing into the wood, and the other to his left. It was here that he was working.Wilbur was in good spirits, although tired, the progress of his camp proceeding well. The blackette was donned in thicker leathers than he usually wore, having taken to crafting armour. He took a moment to wipe his face of sweat, cast a quick glance about his camp.
He froze. There was someone or something strutting about his camp. The farrier’s heart jumped, his calloused hands reaching for the mallet hanging from his belt, “OI!”
The farrier let out a long, somewhat relieved sigh. He reached out and caught hold of a hand, giving it a gently squeeze, “‘anks Carolynn. ‘e last ‘ing we need is another o’ me lassies disappearin’ on me!” He grinned wearily at his words, patting her hand a final time, before releasing it. He fell silent after that, the farrier looking oddly tired and worn. Wilbur looked like he’d aged.
The soft smile returned to her face “So, I’m one of the ‘lassies’, huh?” At least for now, they could think on other things.
In the silence, she looked over at his progress on the wall around his camp, before standing up and offering him a hand up “Want some help with that construction project? I’m a great builder from what I’ve heard” the smile turned to a grin, as she tried to stir the farrier into activity again, and trying to chase away the worry at how aged he looked.
The farrier took a moment to look at her, his heart eased by seeing her again. She’d been away so long, and he’d been worried. His lips tweaked upward as he grasped her hand, pulled to his feet, “Aye, n’ dinna you forget it!”
One upright, Wilbur snorted. With a shake of his head, he shoved his hands onto his leather clad hips, “O’ ‘at I’ve nae doubt. I’ve seen ‘e strength ya’ve. And ‘ere’s not much left of ‘e wall to go”
"I think I'll have a hard time forgetting it after that lecture" she joked, walking towards the near-finished section of the wall and looking it over, tapping her chin "This should keep the hounds out at least"
"Wynne!!" The shout rang out loud and clear, as Carolynn came racing over brandishing a large gramophone with several records tucked under her arm. She had gotten a great idea from that anon's present. Her friend had been feeling down, and so, she was to help her lift her spirits! And how else than with dance?
The crofter was snoozing against a tree, exhausted and finally having given up on moving for the day. At the sound of the vampire’s voice she jolted awake, surging upward brandishing her axe and sickle simultaneously. It would have been quite the fearsome sight had she not gone cross-eyed and stumbled back into the tree, suddenly lightheaded.
"F-Fit is it?" she grumbled roughly, dropping her axe and she held herself up.
Carolynn almost giggled like a schoolgirl, placing the gramophone before the crofter with sparkling eyes “a greyface gave me this! And some records too!”
The grin on her face was unmistakeably that of great excitement “I thought I’d utilize it to best use-I’m going to help teach you swing dance!!”
Wynne stared at the odd contraption with owlish eyes. What…what the hell was that?
The crofter looked up at the redhead, a mixture of tired irritation and bewilderment there. Did…did she say dancing? Really, dancing??
"Did…did ya get ‘it in ‘e ‘ead or some’in?" it wasn’t meant as harshly as it sounded, but the brunette was at a lost for what else to say.
She let out a laugh, the crofter's words couldn't damper her spirits now!!
"Well, it's a possibility, although I think it's more an idea of lifting our spirits. After all, there should be SOME semblance of fun in this place every now and then, no?"
☋
"I vant to suck yer blood!!! Bleh BLEH!"
"Never have I had a cheap Romanian accent. And really? 'Bleh Bleh'??"
Oi, who're you?
"Carolynn O'Shea..and you?" She looked the elsen over, a brow raised
Plot # 26: Artificial Affection
It’s the year 2050 and technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, exceeding the vision and capabilities of countless scientists from previous decades. Artificial Intelligence is the buzz word on the lips on government officials as well as the everyday citizen. Robots have become part of daily life; delivering mail, performing home cleaning services, automating the task of driving a car and so much more. In this new era, artificially intelligent beings serve the purpose of making human life easier and more pleasurable. Muse A is a lonely beta tester, whose primary job is to test run androids (robots with human appearance) before they are shipped out for sale to the public. Muse A isn’t the best at social relationships, so they much prefer to spend time with androids who can communicate and interact without judgment or need of social convention. When Muse A is asked to test a new android prototype (Muse B), Muse A is amazed at how advanced Muse B is. Muse B seems unique, learning at a pace more rapid than their predecessors, able to somehow intuit feelings of the user, gradually able to mirror human emotions: anger, sorrow, even love. As Muse A continues to “test” Muse B, the pair become attached to one another. Every day that goes by with Muse A noting the android’s progress, Muse B begins to feel more and more..human.
What will happen if/when the beta tester is asked to return the prototype? Can an evolved android become capable of actual love, or are Muse B’s feelings merely a convincing simulation?

A Response to ‘Women Against Feminism.’
Imagine this:
The year is 2014. You are a white Western woman. You wake up in the morning in a comfortably sized house or flat. You have a full or part-time job that enables you to pay your rent or mortgage. You have been to school and maybe even college or university as well. You can read and write and count. You own a car or have a driver’s licence. You have enough money in your own bank account to feed and clothe yourself. You have access to the Internet. You can vote. You have a boyfriend or girlfriend of your choosing, who you can also marry if you want to, and raise a family with. You walk down the street wearing whatever you feel like wearing. You can go to bars and clubs and sleep with whomever you want.
Your world is full of freedom and possibility.
Then you pick up a newspaper or go online. You read about angry women ranting about sexism and inequality. You see phrases like ‘rape-culture’ and ‘slut-shaming.’ You furrow your brow and think to yourself: ‘What are they so angry about? There is no such thing as sexism anymore.’
Now imagine this:
The year is 2013. You are a 25 year-old Pakistani woman. A few months ago, you married the man you love. A man you choose for yourself. You are also pregnant with his child. You see your life stretching out before you, filled with hope and happiness. Suddenly, you and your husband are dragged away from each other. You are both beaten with bricks and batons. You can’t fight back. You can’t escape. No one comes to help you. Through your fading vision, you look up, and look into the eyes of one of your assailants: into the eyes of your father.
The year is 2013. You are a 23 year-old Indian woman. You are a physiotherapy student with a promising career ahead of you. You are sitting on a private bus travelling home alone on a warm December evening. You gaze out of the window as the buildings of New Dheli rush past you and feel content. Suddenly, a blunt force hits the back of your head and you fall to the floor of the bus. A group of strange men are standing over you. They bring the metal bar down on you again and again and again until all you can taste is the blood filling up your mouth. You pray that you will die soon. And you do, but not then. You are raped, beaten, and tortured over and over again. Death is slow and agonising.
The year is 2014. You are a 13 year-old girl from Niger. You no longer live there though. You are now living in the neighbouring country Nigeria, sitting alone in small room on a small bed in a small apartment high above the city of Kano. You are not allowed to leave. Your stomach is swollen from the unwanted life growing inside of it. You had no choice. The father is a man in his 40s. He is a businessman. He has bought you as his wife. You were a penniless, uneducated girl when he came for you. You don’t know of any life you could have had. Neither did your family: just one less mouth for them to feed. You still have the body of a child, and it’s straining under the pressure from the one inside of you. You feel like you’re about to be split in two. You don’t wonder if you will survive the birth. A part of you doesn’t want to.
These are fictionalised accounts of real events that have happened to real women living in our world today. They follow the past 250 years of women and men campaigning for women to be given equal rights to men to prevent these kinds of injustices and abuses on the grounds of gender taking place. Over the course of this time, campaigners – Feminists, both female and male – have been locked up, beaten, tortured, and even killed, in the pursuit of equality. They did this with pen and ink and print; they did this with their voices; they did this with their bodies; they did this with art and music; they did in courts of law and halls and houses of government that they fought be to allowed into.
They did this so that women would no longer been seen as property, livestock, breeding machines, sex objects, punching bags, or infantile morons. They did this not just for themselves, but also for their daughters, and their daughters, and their daughters for generations to come. They did this for women they would never meet – women who lived across countries, across vast oceans, across the entire globe, and even across time.
They did this so that women like me – a white Western woman – could attend school and university; to learn to read, write, and think critically; to gain a degree; to get a job and be paid an equal salary to a man in the same position; and to sit here with my own computer and type all of this.
Feminism is a movement for freedom, equality, choice, love, compassion, respect, solidarity, and education. We may argue, we may disagree, we may struggle to understand the choices and perspectives of others sometimes, but these core beliefs of the movement have never changed, and they never will.
That is why I am a Feminist.
If you feel that you have so far lived your life unaffected by even the mildest form of sexism – anything from feeling uncomfortable when a man catcalls you in the street, to feeling scared walking home alone at night in a secluded area – and are treated with love and respect by every man in your life, then to you I say: I’m glad for you. If you don’t think you need feminism, then that is a victory for the movement. You have fulfilled all those dreams that every suffragette being force-fed in prison and every ‘witch’ burnt at the stake dreamed you would one day.
But perhaps take a second to consider the life of the Pakistani woman who was beaten to death by her own family for marrying a man of her choosing. Or the life of the Indian woman who was raped, beaten, and murdered on a bus by a gang of men. Or the life of the little girl in Niger who was sold to a man more than twice her own age and forced to carry a baby that may kill her to deliver. Do they still need feminism?
And perhaps take a second to consider this too: Even in our liberal, Western world, why do women still only fill 24% of senior management jobs? Why are more women than men domestically abused or even killed every week at the hands of their male partner or ex-partner? Why is there still a pay gap (in the UK specifically) of 15% for women doing the same jobs and working the same hours as men?
And what about on a cultural level? Have you ever noticed how comedy panel shows usually only have one female panellist compared to 4-5 male ones? That almost every dieting product on the market is solely aimed at women? How a lot of newspapers and advertising campaigns will use a sexualised or pornographic image of a woman to sell news or products that have nothing to do with sex?
Or perhaps on a personal level: Do you choose to wear certain clothes because you want to or because you feel ‘unfeminine’ if you don’t? Do you choose to cover yourself up because you want to or because you feel ashamed or intimidated by a man looking at your body? Do you shave your legs and underarm hair because you want to or because you will look ‘ugly’ if you don’t? Did you parents dress you in pink as a baby because they liked the colour or because you were born a girl? Do you want to have children because you want to or because you are a woman?
When you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning, do you see yourself through your own eyes, or through the eyes of the men that will look at you when you walk out the door?
The fact is, like it or not, you still live a world where gender matters. Where gender controls not just the entire course of your life – but the lives of women all over the world. Every second, a child will be born female in a country where she will persecuted for this random biological occurrence for the rest of her life. So before you hold up your anti-Feminist placard proudly and smile at your own sense of empowerment, think not what Feminism can do for you, but what it can do for that one girl. She needs someone to stand up for her. That someone could be you.

Read this. Read all of this. Then read it again.
Scarlett raced across the tops of the buildings, watching the chaos below with wide eyes. The attacks had increased in the last week, and it seemed the end of the world was beginning.
Jumping down into the alleyway, she raced through the near-empty cement streetway, kicking in the back door to...
