NOTICE FOR PSYCHOTIC PEOPLES LIKE ME AND THE NEW TOMODACHI LIFE: Please please pretty pretty please be careful while playing Living the Dream, esp if you’re currently unmedicated!!!

The game treats the Miis like they’re real people and makes zero mention ever that they are not, and only ever refers to them and their POV as if they are real and you are their caretaker! While playing this honestly messed with my head pretty badly at times and made me worry a lot on if I was hurting real people/not doing enough for real people while I was playing!

I cannot imagine how much worse this would be for someone who’s unmedicated, non-dormant, or experiencing breakthrough symptoms! Do please be careful and PLEASE remember to have a way to reality check yourself while playing the game!!!

Also: If you’re not psychotic, please reblog this anyway!!! It may not seem like a big deal to you but these kinds of things are REALLY important to know for us psychotic folk in a world that is both hostile and negligent to us and our needs!!!

I used to be interested in following anti-endo blogs to see what their perspectives are but now that I realize it's just blatant ableism and misinformation and one-size-fits-all closemindedness I just get tired of seeing it. I check so many of the boxes for dissociative disorder symptoms but many of my symptoms are caused by something neurological instead so it's hard to tell the exact difference based on the standardized diagnostic frameworks. But you people assume that everyone is either the exact standard textbook neurotypical-plus-cdd or they are "faking" with no room for nuance. So what's even the point anymore. An actual doctor would say that I have cptsd and that I have something similar to a cdd but with that neurological stuff making it hard to diagnostically tell if the other dissociative symptoms are traumagenic or neurogenic but if I have the cptsd anyways then who cares and I don't have to force another diagnosis if I'm in the diagnostic gray area and already have enough insurance labels to get trauma treatment which is all those labels are really for anyways. But you people are like noooo faker you are invalid and evil, for the horrible crime of not fitting neatly into the diagnostic categories because of my neurodivergence. Maybe I just have an angry alter fronting right now but I guess I'm not allowed to say that because I don't have the normal standardized experience that the textbooks were written around. This goes into your ask box because you are the girl who made me reach that breaking point and realize that I'm done with you people but I actually switched at some point since typing that earlier rant so I don't currently carry the same emotional state but I am going to call you a girl. You're just an invalid faker! I will always be a real system and you will never be a real man! If you don't want to be invalidated as a fake boy who just lies for fun about being a boy while not fitting into the exact standardized medical textbook definition of being male then maybe you should do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

first of all: we have never fake claimed a person for the reasons you are stating. when we say someone isn't a system we have only ever been referring to endogenics who literally meet NONE of the diagnostic criteria; severe dissociation, symptoms causing daily distress, symptoms being present since childhood, etc. that's literally it. many endogenics do not experience dissociation and do not experience distress due to their made up symptoms and THAT is why they do not and cannot have the disorder. not because of "not being a cookie cutter system" or whatever you're yapping in my inbox about. we have always encouraged systems to embrace the little differences in how they experience their disorder, and have never once judged someone for those variations. you are genuinely making shit up just to be mad at a stranger.

second: our gender is NOWHERE near comparable to A MENTAL DISORDER. that is EXTREMELY transphobic of you to say and I REFUSE to remain silent about that. this disorder is not an identity, and our identity is not a disorder to be diagnosed and "treated". not ONLY is that transphobic, it is ALSO ableist. you are actively comparing a disorder to an identity that someone can choose on a whim. being a man has nothing to do with your biological parts, it only has to do with what labels you are comfortable using. being a system is a DISORDERED experience with a hard definition and certain qualifications you must meet to be considered as having one. just like every other fucking disability.
