So as much as I hecking adore Corrin, I think I’ll be dropping him shortly in favor of a different muse, one that’s been on my mind for a while that I’d like to try my hand at one more time. I’m sorry if this disappoints any of you, but it’s the decision I’ve come to that will make me the happiest so I hope you all can understand! Thank you so much! I had a lovely run with Corrin!

Corryn holds her breath when the other man tightens his grip on her. He plasters a equally fake smile on his lips. “Nothing is wrong in the slightest your highness. I was just going to go for a walk with this lovely lady right here.” There is a silent message in his eyes and Corryn gets it all to well. Either agree with him or else trouble was going to start. Her wursts were bringing to hurt and she didn’t dare make a scene.

The earlier warning from her father was all too clear. If she wanted to have any chance of getting out of that damn tower she would have to behave. Gods this was making her angry. Did he expect her to just sit here like a child and allow some man to put his paws on her without her consent. Did he expect her to just be quite about it?

“Let me go I have nothing that i want to see with you.” Her eyes flashed anger and her voice sounded a little- gravely? It was something she noticed that she did when she was close to breaking down and she knows her brother would get the signal.

Corrin is quick to catch the anger seeping into Ryn’s voice. She wants nothing to do with the man before them and yet still the stranger clung to her, eyes brimming with darker intent as his plastered expression falters. It made the urge to protect Ryn burn all the more inside his chest, trying desperately to claw it’s way out. Yet at the same time, he feels utterly shackled. Despite how much he’d like to break this man’s hand for his audacity alone, he can’t. 

Manners, Corrin, you must mind them well.

This event in and of itself is a test. Not only does it measure their capability to mingle with those of high standing and procure fruitful alliances, but it was also meant to place them in situations exactly like this, situations where they had not a shield nor a hand to keep them out of harm’s way. If they wanted to avoid a commotion with dreadful consequences following suit, they’d have to settle this with their words. 

"Ah, well, it seems that my sister doesn't want to accompany you. So, I'd very much appreciate it if you'd unhand her. ...After all, what might the other guests think of you looking as though you’re accosting a royal princess of Nohr? I’d imagine that wouldn’t be good for your reputation, Sir."

The knightmare (Corryn&Corrin)

Why? That was the first thing that Corryn thinks as she stares up at the man who was old enough to be her father. What gave him the galls to even mention something so ridiculous.

Her eyes search his and she notices that he’s serious. He really thinks that since she has just come of age that she’s gonna jump on a chance to escape her place and live with him. She shakes her head. This was not the first guy but it was one of the ones that made her skin crawl. Malice was behind his worlds or some other thing she just couldn’t place it.

“I’m sorry but my answer is no. I’m not looking for anyone to marry right this moment. In fact I’m still young and want to figure out what I want. Now if you please don’t mind I have to go.” She goes to walk away but the man grabs her hand hard. He smiles slyly and grabs her arm a little tighter. As she tries to yank it out he just stands there not caring if anyone else was around.

He would never call his sister weak. The both of them had been taught royal swordplay and though perhaps his skills in that area were a tad sharper, she was just as capable. However, that would never prevent him from worrying over her well being, especially at formal gatherings where they were stripped of armor and weapons both. That’s why, although he has his own mingling obligations of which he needs to tend, he still keeps a watchful eye upon her.

It’s a good thing that he does, too. He’s able to catch the very instance in which an older guest deems it within his rights to lay his grubby hand upon Ryn and tug her closer to him in a way that appeared to be much against her will. She looks uncomfortable, even a tad scared. And who could blame her? In these sort of settings, they were both very vulnerable. The two black sheep of the Nohrian royal family had to keep up the best appearance possible if they could ever even hope for true freedom. That meant no outbursts, no trouble, no cause for crude rumors or worse yet, the spreading of crude facts. The position they hold is so utterly delicate at this point in time, that they both have to walk upon eggshells wherever they go (especially considering that their other siblings were absent from this event and thus could not be turned to for aid). 

He can feel the way his lip curls with disgust before his attention is caught by a woman inquiring if he was feeling all right. Immediately his expression changes to display a gentle smile and after reassuring her that he is just fine, he departs from his spot to weave through the crowd of gathered nobles, right until he’s reached his sister’s side. But he does not face her. Instead his gaze finds that of the noble who’s fingers still dug into Ryn’s wrist as he, in turn, looks down at Corrin with utter distaste.  

“Is there a problem here, sir?"

His body moves before he even has the time to think about it. The moment Dwyer’s cry reaches his ears, he’s already turned on his heel and taking off in the direction of the troubled troubadour. Luckily, he’d only been a few feet down the way, having already retired for the night. Without thinking of any possible ramifications for his actions, he bursts into the other man’s tent, one hand already gripping the hilt of his trusted Yato. But as ruby eyes assess the situation, finding no enemy attempting to make quick work of his friend, he realizes the outburst must have been spurred by a dreadful nightmare, nothing more. Seeing no threat, he relaxes his posture. Although that does not stop the worried furrowing of his brows.

“Dwyer?” He inquires, voice taking a certain amount of tenderness to it. “Forgive me for intruding. It’s just – Well, you called out for help and I…. Would you like to talk about it?”

“We’ll be together when we die.” Jakob affirmed, very matter of fact. it was kind of a grim conversation to be having over breakfast, but relevant to the book that the butler had insisted on reading to the prince to help him sleep the night before. Clearly, it was still on his mind, and how could a romance novel between a lord and his maidservant not be?

“Or I shall perish in a battle to the death defending you. Naturally, not like the pitiful excuse for an attendant from that story last night! He shouldn’t have sacrificed himself for her.” Growing a bit red in the face, Jakob took the first sip, and recoiled after burning his tongue. One would have thought it was poison with how Jakob threw himself across the tabletop to take the cup out of his liege’s hand, sparing Corrin from the same mildly uncomfortable fate.

“You must forgive me for choosing such dispiriting night-time literature, my lord. Normally I read an entire story through before sharing it with you, but we’ve been so busy lately, and the cover art looked so lovely.” Sighing deeply, Jakob righted himself in his seat.

He had not even the time to bring his own cup to his lips before it’s already carefully pried from his hands. He’d been far too taken aback by Jakob's words, causing him to pause in contemplation. Though he knows his butler's devotion runs deep, each time Jakob addresses the extent of it himself, the bold declarations never cease to strike him. He couldn't take the idea of the other dying on his behalf lightly, nor the promise that he would follow him to the very grave without so much as a second thought. 

"I... appreciate your sentiment, Jakob. But you must know by now that I would never forgive myself if you died for my sake. You are someone important to me, and like it or not, that means I want to protect you. Much like the lord in that tale, should I ever see you in danger, I will come to your defense without fail. It wouldn’t matter the cost, nor would it matter if it was the first incident or the hundredth. After all, would it not make me a pitiful excuse for a lord if I were to abandon a friend I hold so dearly?"

Although his expression has been serious while he was speaking, he now offers the other a softened, almost sad, smile. He hopes the other will understand, even if he does not necessarily agree. “And... just so that you are aware, I did enjoy the story, sad as it was. Although, I certainly would’ve much preferred a happier ending.”

LMAO BUT YOU NOTICE THAT SWEET DODGE? HE SAID HE COULD NEVER ASK HIM, NOT THAT IT NEVER HAPPENED. LEFT THAT WIDE OPEN. MAYBE THINGS HAPPENED, MAYBE THEY DIDN’T. 

Also depends on what’s truly meant by experiment. Like I wouldn’t be opposed to that being taken in terms of discovering his own sexuality and if our Jakob was okay with it like maybe at one point in his youth Corrin was just like Jakob is cute I like Jakob maybe I’d like to kiss Jakob whEEZE OH NO I COULD NEVER ASK THAT BUT MAYBE I COULD JUST... DO IT. OH NO!! GOTTA RUN FROM THESE GAY THOUGHTS!!!

Either way y’all know Jakob is an incredibly important person in his life regardless of what they’ve done or felt in regards to one other. That won’t change.

Weird question, but how does he feel about drag?

Honestly it wouldn’t be anything to inherently rustle his jimmies. However, he can appreciate both dressing up in clothes made traditionally for women, and others doing so. I mean, dresses or skirts wouldn’t make any man any less attractive to him, but he wouldn’t necessarily see it as anything special – unless of course the garments were purposely quite revealing, which could very well get him a bit hot under the collar. As for himself, he just wants to wear what’s comfortable usually, whether it’s a skirt or sweatpants he honestly doesn’t care. However, if he knew his (hypothetical) partner would appreciate seeing him all dolled up in a pretty dress he absolutely would be down for that.

I'M SORRY BUT I HAVE TO ASK IF YOU'VE EVER uhhhh "experimented" WITH JAKOB BYE

“E-Excuse me!?” Experimented – the innuendo isn’t lost upon him. The other wasn’t talking in terms of science, that much is clear. Yet, the very idea of doing something so intimate with Jakob (of course, coupled with the absolute audacity this stranger has to inquire about such things) is plenty enough to force a radiant blush to spread from the base of his neck to the tips of his ears. “I-I could never ask such a thing of him!”

“Ah, Corryn?” Surprise lights his eyes momentarily as he turns to look at the other. Then, shifting his gaze toward the article offered to him, he can already imagine its warmth wrapped snugly around him. Carefully, he takes it from her, glancing up once as if to double-check that it was truly alright for him to take it before shimmying the garment properly over his torso. They didn’t have many people they could rely upon within the fortress walls, but they always had each other. That much was certain. After he’s settled, he positively beams. “It looks like we’re still the same size, huh?”

((Okay but imagine young Corrin, back before he really had people he could rely on. Like maybe just when he’d met Jakob/Flora/Felicia/Silas and/or the older sibs. And Gunter had to be pulled away or something and Corrin is just having a really really bad day bc you know the Fortress was bad news for him (I mean Gunter pointed out in their support that he was actually fed scraps!!!!!) and someone (Jakob/Flora/Felicia/Silas/Xander/Camilla) finds him crying and they go to help and he just lashes out and he ends up just biting them bc little boy has fangs and not much else and he’s fully expecting them to lash out, to hit him, yell at him, something. 

But they don’t retract or get angry at all. They just start comforting him like petting his hair and saying sweet things until he lets go and he just collapses into them crying like a big baby but he also clings to them bc it’s one of the first instances he can remember somebody actually caring about him and he’s just like????? Super emotional. And just imagine if his bite left scars and he sees them later like during the war and he just gets all teary again bc he remembers how important this person is to him and he apologies for scarring them and just??? Idk it’s like 3:30am and I can’t stop thinking about this.))

“Alright!” He proclaims at last, his hands settling on his hips as he looks toward Felicia. “We’re officially, hopelessly lost.” His head bobs, as if to affirm his own words. It wasn’t a good situation to be in, particularly with the sun beginning to set. The forest around them is dense with not a clearing in sight as well. He’d brought Felicia along with him to check the traps the hunting party recently laid out, yet somehow they’d both strayed from their path. “Now, what do you suggest we do? We can keep moving forward, or we can try to backtrack. Either way, I value your opinion.”

Nimble fingers take the mug, holding onto it carefully as warmth seeps into his skin, even through porcelain. The scent wafting up with soft clouds of steam is heavenly, making him nearly prepared to burn his tongue so long as he can take a sip. Instead, ruby eyes flicker back to the man who’d given him this gift, lips parting with a grin. “This will certainly keep me awake a while longer. I must thank you for it, Dwyer. You’re always so considerate.”

“No way. I remember the last time we went into the forest together. You have to promise you’ll stick with me this time.” His tone may be firm, but the crinkle between his brows portrays his worry. He doesn’t want her winding up needlessly hurt due to her extremely inattentive streak. It’s as if she’s just drawn to traps laid before her, big or small. But he wanted her to learn. Gods forbid she ever be stranded out here with no one able to track her down. 

However, he hadn’t expected her solution to his request. Her hand finds his, weaving their fingers together so that she may never be able to stray so long as he holds firm. It would work, he’s sure. But that doesn’t stop his expression from breaking into an amused, lopsided grin. “That’ll work.”
