Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung from cinematographer Christopher Doyle’s visual and narrative diary, Buenos Aires, of his participation in the making of Wong Kar Wai’s film Happy Together.

He wrote “Leslie and Tony play lover’s games in the I LOVE PINK hotel. They take Polaroids in the shower, over a birthday cake, throwing beer and coke at each other – and, inevitably, all over the camera and me. I’m having fun turning the camera on and off at will – the effect we want is random spontaneity, like a series of Polaroid snaps that skips through time and disregards and continuity of space. Like memories tend to.”
