She loves her son a lot. Dale paid the judge of their divorce under the table so that he could acquire full custody and get back at Evelyn. That is the ONE case she regrets losing and hates Dale for it. But once she eventually reunites with Dev, she spoils the heck out of him and tries to do everything to make him happy.
