Today I would like to talk about some concerns within our country.
Our president has signed a bill slashing 1.1 billion dollars that was meant to support public broadcasting.
Public broadcasting funds PBS, a TV station which hosts many educational shows for kids. Among those shows are those that are much like our beloved “Fantastic Science”, which is a show that teaches kids of underprivileged families science and maths.
As well as this, local news stations provide information to residents about natural disasters and local dangers, things which could prevent harm and save lives.
These cuts to funding could be not only detrimental to the education of children, but could also result in the deaths of those in rural areas.
But there is never a lack of hope!
Sites like Protect My Public Media provide real and actionable ways that you can support public broadcasting and radio stations.
Fascism only wins if we as the people refuse to take action.
Today is the day to fight back against hate.
Late last month, an executive order was blocked by federal judges which prevented the Trump Administration from ending federal funding for PBS.
That doesn’t reverse the damage already done however, so despite the positive headline, we shouldn’t stop fighting for public broadcasting and freedom of press.
Protect My Media still has ways you can help.

I just finished eating an entire box.
