Bongiovanni – a good one in the center of Bologna.
Of course "Tortellini" have to have their own shop-window. Why not?
Oh well - on Bolognas markets the photography part turned out more difficult than before. There are sooo many people. Even people taking a photograph of me while taking a pic of the shop. Well, this was a veeery pretty shop indeed. But why me?
Bologna is one of the most beautiful - if not THE - cities in #Italy. And I've seen a whole load of them. That's maybe the reason, why I started to collect shop fronts here. And this decision proofed right. Just look at this pretty type!
The end of something old always means a new beginning too. This time it's an absolutely fantastic place I visited about one year ago. (And've been there three times since!) The next destination of Fantastic Shoppe Fronts is Emilia Romagna.
Basically, this is the part of Italy, where all the good stuff comes from. (We're talking of Parmigiano, San Daniele Prosciutto, Aceto Balsamico and a LOT more!) Let's start with the region's hub: Bologna. Italy's big, fat stomach. Yummy!
Right. Theres a typo! Right there! In the FIRST word! But well... maybe this Mister Schönbichler wanted a French touch to his tea-shop? Next time, I'm going in + ask.
Yes people - this is #Vienna. It's synagoge still stands in the old Jewish district. A very interesting part of town. (I know that a synagoge is NOT a shop. But it really looked pretty. I hope that's enough of an excuse!)
I know - having collected that many shop fronts is like having that many babies. Every single one is special. HOWEVER, I think this is my absolute favorite so far. It still offers children's clothing, just as it says in Original 50s font. And for all, who do not know what "Süsses Mädel" means, I can recommend the movie "Sound of Music". Haha... just joking: The translation is: "Sweet Girl".
The shiny names like "Georgio Armani" and the important looking guy to your right scream out: "Rich people of the world unite and go shopping here." Well. At Siedler you can buy jewelry. Only the best of it. So save up all your money and come to Vienna for some pretentious shopping.
As you know, Austria is a place of early mountaineers and peak-heros. Here's where they maybe bought all their equipment before climbing up the mountain tops?
I like the lettering so much - it just looks so typical Austrian/Viennese!
They won't help your shoe anymore. In other words: Business hours are over, baby. What a shame. I like the really reduced shoppe front in Vienna's city center.
What a sweet little yellow mellow shop in Vienna's Burggasse.
Beware your purses. Cause here you can easily spend heaps of money. Right on Graben, where the riches buy their unnecessary stuff, you can buy jewels and decorations for your home. Since the 18th century. That's something!
On a stroll through Vienna you have the most awesome encounters with curious shops. This one for example has specialized in selling frames. Just frames! Imagine! I love that. And the fact that the lettering reminds me of Lord of the Rings. Why? I don't have a clue. Maybe the shop-keeper is a Hobbit?
"Plutzer" is a very colloquial term for head or pumpkin. (They are very alike - yes!) Apparently it's also the name of a small Viennese brewery.
Oh well ... It's a Pfudl! OK - Sometimes I cheat. This is of course not a shop front, but a pub front, more exactly: A Gasthaus front. But it is old, and full of old-fashioned lettering.
Yes, ladies & gentlemen, this is Vienna. Look! Here you can buy rugs! Persian ones even. Pretty neat facade. Oriental almost.
