Perfect Princess
The first music video for Descendants Wicked Wonderland dropped today.
Red and Chloe are happy to be back in the present with their mothers but they quickly start to notice some changes in the new timeline.
Red now has a sister and apparently she's a girly girl princess now since that's what everyone seems to expect her to be.
While Cinderella has become a perfectionist that always wanted to be a princess, packs Chloe's schedule and showers her daughter in shoes.
I don't really understand why Cinderella would be effected in this way but I guess it makes an interesting contrast to what Chloe went through in the last movie.
The girls are hurried off to school and it seems that QOH traded the Jeep for a convertible while the Charming's also have a new carriage.
Also can I just say that I hate QOH's new dress now that I can see all of it.
It looks like she got tangled up in the draperies or several bolts of fabric!
At School Red and Chloe meet Luis and Robbie who feel like Descendants is trying to reheat Jay and Carlos's nachos as the "the boys" of the group.
Though apparently Luis is going to be Red's love interest so I guess that's a little different.
Not long afterward we meet the VK's:
And why are the Smee twins here?
Yes they're VKs but they were good kids the last time we saw them, is this another consequence of time travel? Because it seems out of character for two kids who came to Auradon to get away from bullying to become bullies themselves.
Hazel doesn't have much to do here but I'm already curious about her relationship with her siblings.
I'm digging Felix's hand tattoos and that he has actual tarot cards unlike Celia.
Speaking of Celia, she and Freddie would absolutely kick Felix's ass for his attitude.
And finally we have Max:
He seems to be the leader and he definitely catches Red's attention when Pink call's him "Hatter".
I want to see more of this kid but given that he's the snarky purple child of the movie's lead villain and allegedly Chloe's love interest I have pretty good idea of how his story is going to go.
That said is it just me or does there seem to be something going on between him and Pink?
Naturally the girls are confused(and so am I) but at least someone found love in the new timeline:
I'm really liking Pink so far though, she seems like she's going to be a fun character but I hope she doesn't refer to herself in the third person throughout the whole movie.
So I have some questions as per usual.
The VK's use of the term nepo babies is a little odd, it works for Red, Pink, Chloe, and maybe Luis but not Robbie who's dad(Robin Hood) is a morally grey outlaw who steals from the rich to give to the poor. Wouldn't Robbie therefore be closer to the VK's class wise than the royal kids?
How long has it been between this movie and ROR in universe? If it's literally the next day then why did the girls go home just to go back to Auradon Prep 24 hours later?
If it's been longer then why are the girls only now noticing changes like Pink or Cinderella's personality transplant?
Given the presence of the Smee twins as well as Beast's statue and livery I think it's safe to say that Ben and Mal are still around and in charge.
Beyond that though it seems we'll have to wait for the movie to get answers and even then we may not get them given Descendants track record but I hope we do.
The song itself is good but not as good as some other Descendants songs.
