Beauty and The Beast
"Mom... Can I ask you something?"
Regina looked up at her daughter and closed her book. āOf course dear. Whatās on your mind?ā
Melanie got into the bed and snuggled up to her.Ā āWhatās the chance for leaving Storybrooke?āĀ
Regina wrapped her arm around Melanie.Ā āVery slim, but I could make it happen. Why do you want to leave Storybrooke?ā
"Because I'm graduating in the summer and I want to go to college. I need to have the chance to go to college, see the world." She answered and looked at her.

āI am. But it depends, Iām not sure why itās interesting.ā She smiled softly.Ā
Ā Ā Ā āWell, I suppose itās interesting because of our parents past. Your mom wasnāt exsactly nice to either of my parents. However, Iām going to hope youāre diffrent.ā
āMy mother has changed, and I may be her daughter, but neither one of us are like The Evil Queen anymore. Who are your parents?ā
farestffthemallmelaniemills started following you
āSoā¦ummmā¦youāre Reginaās girl? Thatās a bit interesting.āĀ
āI am. But it depends, Iām not sure why itās interesting.ā She smiled softly.Ā
Melanie looked at the response from Regina and inhaled a deep breath, before she started the walk from the school past Grannyās and the Clock Tower, before turning down on the road that led her to the Mayors office. She was nervous and she knew Regina properly had been worried when she hadnāt been around that much, as in the weeks up to the discovery. She had tons of questions. Like who was her father, was he here, why did she never hurt her as the Evil Queen and so forth.Ā
After a couple of more minutes of walking, Melanie entered the Mayors office. She walked past Reginaās assistant, who followed her to the office and knocked on the closed office door. The assistant opened the door slightly and peeped inside.Ā āMadam Mayor, you have a visitor..ā
Regina gave her assistant a small nod and a āSend her in.ā but other than revealing that she knew who her unscheduled visitor was, the Mayor gave no sign that this was any different from the dozen or so meeting she had each day.
No small feat given the bundle of emotions filling Reginaās stomach, even with her years of practice at hiding her true feelings. But then, nothing in her time as Queen had ever been this important. Yes, her feelings toward Snow had driving the vengeance that had consumed her for years and ultimately lead to the curse for which sheād sacrificed her own father but hindsight showed that for what it was; a hollow victory that had cost her more than sheād gained from it.Ā
This, Melanie⦠this was so much more than that. A possibility sheād thought lost to her years ago, one sheād given up to spite her mother; another hollow victory at the time. If she had know about Melanie then⦠so much would have changed.Ā
So much still could. Even with all the years that had passed, all the time lost between them, they could still be more together than they were apart.Ā
Or Regina could lose her daughter again, and this time by Melanieās choice and not the manipulations of others they were both ignorant of. So much may rest on these next few minutes. So much more than a heart more hardened by anger than broken by love.
Regina smoothed her hands over her blouse before tugging at her blazer, wondering in the time between her Assistantās head ducking out of sight and Melanie stepping through the door if she shouldnāt take off the blazer to present a less formal, more inviting image.Ā
Melanie was standing in the hallway and knew the people working in the Mayorās office was whispering. And of course Melanie was the new hot topic in town. Ever since Regina had told her the truth and the rest of the town had found out, no one could stop making whispers and rumours about her. Yes there was still things Melanie didnāt even know, but the way people made whispers about her, when they knew Reginaās past scared her.Ā
Melanie stepped into the office, fleeing quickly from the hall and closed the door behind her, before turning around and look at Regina.Ā āHi.. I wasnāt interrupting you was I?ā She asked in a soft voice.Ā
{For Ingrid} "Do you know what I thought about while I was attending school today?"
āWhat did you think about when you were attending school today?ā Ingrid said to Melanie with a smirk.
āI was thinking about you. Naked.ā She answered with a smirk, before leaning back in against the counter in her shop.Ā

Melanie knew, she had been withdrawn but what was normal in a situation like this? Melanie had only a couple of weeks ago found out her parents hadnāt been biological. She had been taken from the childbirthās bed from Regina and delivered to a poor family in a villages not far from Leopoldās castle. She was Reginaās daughter and yes, she had questions. Yes she was slightly angry, as well as confused. Curious even. She read Reginaās reply and looked around, before typing a short reply of her own.
[text:Regina] No, itās okay. Iāll be there in a couple of minutes.
The moments between hitting send and receiving Melanieās reply felt like an eternity for Regina, long enough that the chime when it arrived caught Regina by surprise. She fumbled with her phone to keep it from dropping to her desk, mentally cursing herself for her overreaction as she read the text.Ā
A couple of minutes. Suddenly those few moments didnāt seem quite so long.Ā
[text:Melanie] Iāll see you then.

My muse is being held hostage and is being experimented on. Send meĀ āWhat have they done to you?āĀ for my museās response to yours finding themĀ shackledĀ andĀ chained in a small room.
"Mom... Can I ask you something?"
Regina looked up at her daughter and closed her book. āOf course dear. Whatās on your mind?ā
Melanie got into the bed and snuggled up to her.Ā āWhatās the chance for leaving Storybrooke?āĀ
It had been a couple of weeks since Melanie and Regina had realised the truth. Or since Melanie had been told the truth about her, and who she was. A few weeks where she had been slightly withdrawn, not spending time with anyone. Rarely Regina either, but if she talked to anyone it was Regina. Melanie had just gotten off from school, and decided to sent a text to Regina. [Text: Regina] Are you off from work or can I meet you at the Mayors office?
Regina glanced up from the report she was reading ā or trying to read more accurately ā when she heard her cellphone alert her to a new text message. For the last few weeks sheād found it difficult to focus on anything and the dry but essential statistics of running a small town were never that captivating to begin with. Having the town essentially frozen on one day for almost three decades had at least allowed her to get through the paperwork more from memory after the first few years but since the curse had been broken every day brought up some new issue to be dealt with.
None more so than the day the truth about Melanie had been revealed to them both. And since that day Regina had barely seen the teen⦠her daughter. A daughter sheād never known she had and now that Regina did, Melanie couldnāt bear to be around her. At least thatās how it felt to Regina.Ā
With a mix of trepidation and hope, Regina reached out for her phone after it chimed far a second time to get her attention and turned it over to read the message. Her heart tightened in her chest when she saw who it was from and she read through it several times before writing out her reply, a faint smile on her lips as she typed.
[text:Melanie] Iām at the office but I can meet you somewhere else if youād like.

Transformation
Melanie had had to make a split second decision. Once the darkness had surrounded Regina, Melanie knew she had to do something. As Emma approached the darkness trying to make everyone see reason in that it should be her to contain the darkness. That was when Melanie had jumped in. Just as Emma was about to stab the dagger into the darkness, Melanie jumped on Emma and grabbed the dagger. Melanie hadnāt truly thought this through. And the moment she stabbed the dagger into the darkness Melanie heard her motherās cry for her to stop. But there was no point in it. Melanie had done this and there was no way back. Not now. She had felt the darkness already. She looked her mother straight in the eyes as she stood and watched her own daughter be consumed by the darkness. āIām sorry..ā Had Melanie tried to say through the darkness. Her heart had already begun to darken and now she let the darkness consume her soul to save the rest of the town and her mother. And that was when it happened. Melanie was lifted into the air and disappeared. All that was left on the road in Storybrooke, was the dagger. The dagger with one name. Melanie Brianna Mills.
