Ever since i started helping out in the DMC office, i had noticed some interesting behavior that Dante aswell as Vergil had. It was nothin crucial, just that it reminded me a lot of cats.
The usual indicators for Dante was ofcourse that he always napped and sometimes in really weird spots awell. I get that he sleeps on the couch or heck even his office chair but one time i caught him asleep in a pile of dirty clothes in the bathroom! And another time while he was standing infront of the fridge!!
Maybe it was just him being very tired but he even had a glass of milk in his hand so...
That wasn't the weirdest thing tho. When he is bored he pushes his garbage down from his desk and does it like cats when they push over a glass of your favorite drink.
But Dante isn't the only one Vergil does some weird things too. One time he hissed at me when i came to close. We both looked at each other perplexed for a second. Until he cleared his throat and left me standing there.
Then ofcourse i have seen both of them licking there wounds. I always thought that they heal automaticly but apperantly not they seem to choose if they do or not. If it is too small they don't seem to bother over it and just lick it clean?!
I had written down everthing i had noticed so far and wanted to do a little experiment. Would they react the same way to a laser pointer like cats do?
I had bought one online and after struggling far too long to get some stupid batteries in i had it finally working.
And it was a perfect timing aswell or should i say purrfect timing hehe. Ok no stop that this was awfull Y/N.
Both boys were downstairs in the office Vergil reading some of his poetry stuff and Dante for once not napping and scribbling down on some paper.
Wait! His he really doing some paperwork for once?! It's almost a shame to disrupt him... Oh nah he is skribbling some stick figures ... Ofcourse he is.
I sneaked up the weird top half behind his desk. And i can say i'm really proud of myself since they didn't notice me.
I pointed the laser on Dante's very beautiful drawing and made it go from left to right.
I heard a little „oh?“ sound from Dante and had to hold in my laughing. Gosh that sounded cute and totally perplexed.
He followed the red point with his head just like a cat. Ha knew it. I swayed the dot onto Vergil. Let's see if Vergil takes the bait.
What i didn't thought through tho was that i didn't turned off the pointer and as it made his way to Vergil, Dante pounced after it and onto Vergil.
„What the hell Dante! Do you have to get even more annoy...“ Vergil had noticed the red dot aswell now and stared at it.
Even Vergil took the bait this is to funny. I played with the laser pointer a little around making both of them run around the office and giggling soflty to it.
After some time the power went out and they looked confused around. I hid a bit more and tried to calm myself down from all the giggling. When i looked back down they were gone. „Huh?“
„Hey there Sweatheart you seem to have a lot of fun up here.“ I shrieked surprised and turned around. Both of them standing behind me.
„Oh hey there you two i didn't noticed you were in the office here too.“ I gave them a pathetic smile.
„Oh yeah well we were the whole time and wanted to catch a little intruder. Some really nasty red dot who kept nagging us the whole time you wouldn't know where it went. Now do you?“
Dante had his signutare smile on and got closer. Too close. I got red and backed of a little to no avail. „No how should i know?“ i started to chuckle nervous. Damnit stay cool, you properly look like the worst liar on the whole world.
„Oh really little sparrow? Then what is this little thing in your hand there?“ Shit! Vergil also came closer leaving me no room to escape. Except jumping over the reiling and as desperate as i am to get away i would like to have my bones in tact.
„Oh eh well you know just some pen..“ They both looked at me not convinced. „Ok fine it's a laser pointer... I wanted to see if you would also react like a cat with this too, since you two have a lot of cat like behavior.“
„Do we know? And what made you think we didn't noticed you from the start?“ Even Vergil smirked now. I didn't even knew he could do this?! Holy shit. „Wait what? You knew? then why did you...?“
„Because it was fun and seing your reaction to the reveal was even sweeter. Almost as sweet as a strawberry sundae“ Dante tousled my hair. „Hey!“
„To my defense i didn't wanted to be any part of it until this bafoon had to jump on me like a whale...“ Vergil just sighed annoyed. „But i suppose it was a little amusing having you believe our act.“
I just stared at them not knowing what to say or do. „You guys are jerks...“ I looked away not able to look at there handsome smirks.
„Naw come on we are your jerks aren't we Vergil?“ Vergil just hummed in agreement. Just as i wanted to say something a loud crashing noises was heard from the downstairs. As we all looked down we saw the mess these two made while chasing the laser pointer.
„I guess we have to clean up...“ As i looked at them again they already tried to sneak away. „Hey! Don't you dare make me clean this up all by myself!“
„Sorry Sweatheart but we have some important business to do. Not to mention you tricked us into making this mess in the first place so it's your fault.“
And just like that they were gone. „VERGIL! DANTE!“
After 4 hours of cleaning both of them came back with a sorry look. I just sat on the couch exhausted and gave them a pissed look. Dante stretched out his hand with a strawberry sundea for me, while Vergil turned on the crappy TV and put on my favorite show. I sighed and took the strawberry sundea thankfully. Both plopped down on the couch each one next to me. Well after all i can say that i didn't regreted this little experiment.
