C.P. Company google Jacket, first edition made for 1000miglia race, 1988.
Looking good isn’t self-importance; it’s self-respect.
Charles Hix (via manofinterest)
Frank Sinatra & Ava Gardner arrive in Milan, 1953
Three cocktails, three cures
Dry Martini
The drier and colder the better. Ample Vermouth and an insouciance of charm made this tipple a go-to for both Earnest Hemmingway and Frank Sinatra. Replete with on and off screen heroics, these two men have unquestionable man credentials, a keen eye for exaggeration and links to the Mafia. You wouldn’t mess with our Single Breasted Chesterfield either, a tailored glory that speaks volumes about timeless style: never shaken or stirred.
Pegu Club
As English as it’s possible to be, in Burma, in 1920. A Victorian gentlemen’s club of wide renown, The Pegu Club was built to serve the British army officers and it did just that. As Kippling observed in Sea to Sea ‘it was always filled with people on their way up, or their way down’. The spirit of the club lives on in the gin-doused cocktail of the same name, not to mention our Parade Jacket and Charlie Shirt: well cut - from a superior cloth, sir.
Old Fashioned
The Old Fashion is anything but. Its residence at the Waldorf-Astoria bar in boom-time New York City has enshrined the drinks place in popular culture. This upmarket watering hole was no doubt where two of its most famous drinkers encountered it: George Lucas and Madmen’s triple-dapper Don Draper.
Here at Farrell HQ, we’ve no plans for a Stormtrooper outfit, but we like to think we can give Mr. Draper a run for his dollars and dimes. Our style is exemplary British, and, as such: it’s Piccadilly where we take our Old Fashioned, wearing our Piccadilly Jacket, naturally.
Cure One
This first cure may seem obtuse, or even impossible. But neither of those bloated adjectives cut it when simple logic is superlative. Farrell’s first hangover cure arrives resplendent in three little words: Don’t Get Old.
In comparison with the Vicious Boozebeast of Thirtydom, the hangovers of your formative years seem limp and inconsequential. Copious amounts of alcohol just bounced off your twenties, it was less water off a duck's back and more K cider off an Eastpak. If only you knew then, what you know now: you’d have made the most of it. But now it’s too late - and you’re going to vom if that cigarette smoke reaches your nose.
Youth: forever wasted on the young.
Cure Two
Chia seeds are an exceptional source of omega fatty acids and antioxidants and are just perfect for combating hangovers. The fact that most people who use them regularly have an item of hemp clothing doesn’t automatically make them a plonker. Two items of hemp clothing does. Nevertheless, take 100g of the little supersedes, 200g of curly kale, two kiwi fruits, a small hand full of de-stemmed spinach, some coconut water and 4 ice cubes and blitz in the blender for 2mins. Remove blending jug from mixer and walk out of front door. Arrive at pub, write PINT PLS in super-smoothie on the pavement, lay next to it. Marry the person who brings you ale.
Cure Three
Book a trip to Dignitas, Switzerland. Upon arriving at the airport, change your mind. Jump on the first bus to the Alps and celebrate what’s left of your life on a bracing walk. Walking: it’s the only true hangover cure.
Speakeasy - Get a taste of authentic bootlegging style
Psst… wanna hear Seven Dials' worst kept secret? All this week we're inviting you to get loose-lipped and punch-drunk with Bathtub Gin at our brand new Covent Garden store.
Our illicit offering is part of the not-so-secret London Cocktail Week, an annual celebration of London's unique cocktail culture that sees a host of bars, parties and master-classes pop up in the heart of the West End. From today until Sunday you can pop by and peek behind the curtain at 18 Earlham Street to enjoy our specially-brewed gin punch, created by mixology masters Maverick Drinks.
If the promise of free hooch isn't alluring enough, how's 20% off everything in-store? Take part in the Great Farrell Duck Hunt and if you find one of our quacking cronies we'll treat you to a fifth off whatever takes your fancy.
See you down there, and remember, we're here for a good time, not a long time.
Dispatch Riders Coat - History
Originating from the British Forces courier's coat, the Farrell Dispatch Rider's Coat has been cropped for ease. Fabricated in gabardine cotton with reinforced pockets and a weather-resistant storm flap, we've maintained a robust edge to this iconic piece.
Ben Dickens, creative director of Farrell, illustrates in the video below the inspiration towards the design process of our Cropped Dispatch Coat.
Goodwood Revival
Farrell had the fine opportunity of being transported back in time to the period of 1948-1966 at the Goodwood Revival festival this weekend. Car enthusiasts gathered from across the globe to witness a fanatical three day spectacle of vintage car racing. To match the occasion people dressed in a cacophony of vintage styles ranging from Dad's Army inspired military outfits, brawling biker gangs and even a dastardly hilarious duo of Laurel & Hardy.
On occasion the thundering engines of the legendary Spitfire roared overhead yet did nothing to extinguish the vociferous sound of classic cars racing below. The imagery of this alone showcased why over 120,00 people attend this event each year. It is our continual love affair with utterly outstanding engineering marvels from this period.
As well as having our own pop-up shop at Goodwood Revival we also ran a competition with Mr. Hyde for the chance to win £500 worth of clothing as well as tickets the event itself. We are pleased to show you a few pictures of our lucky winner Adam Cherbatji wearing a few of his winnings as well as a selection of photos to help gauge the scale of detail that everyone contributed to bringing people together, back in time.
The British have arrived
We are pleased to announce that Farrell is now available exclusively in 8 Bloomingdale’s stores across the United States in the new 'British Invasion' edition. Having taken inspiration from around 50 years ago, from when a certain wave of 'Beatlemania' swept across the nation, Bloomingdale's have now decided to pay homage to this occasion by including over '250 creations, from dozens of British brands' exclusively to their store. They include a multitude of brands of both men’s and women’s wear from Burberry, Drake's, Paul Smith and Ted Baker whereby Farrell have also featured exclusively to showcase the length and breadth of Britain's iconic style.
Similarly Bloomingdale’s have created a diverse list of cultural activities to experience; through visiting a variety of vintage bars and restaurants located in the East End of London, immersing yourself at The Beatles Story exhibition in Liverpool or 'cruising down to Loch Ness to see if you can spot Nessie for yourself.' Culturally it extenuates Britain’s identity, which is also reflected in the diverse range of clothing that can be bought online and also in California, Chicago, Florida, San Francisco and New York at Bloomingdale's stores.
For more information please check out the 'British Invasion' on the Bloomingdale's website.
A Special Mention to Mr & Mrs Panov
We were thrilled to hear one of our customers Christopher, had informed us of that fact that he recently got married. Not only was this something to celebrate but also that he did so in some of our Farrell clothing. We were incredibly flattered and asked if we could see a photo of his wears and he sent us this wonderful portrait of himself with his beautiful wife Embla taken by his father Assen Panov.
Here is a short interview from Christopher on his wedding and why he chose to wear Farrell:
Hi, Christopher where are you from?
The Capital of Scandinavia - Stockholm.
What is it you like about Farrell Menswear?
The diversity. Either your working, enjoying a pint down the pub, Dining or just ‘Beeing.’ You can do everything in Farrell and look good - every time.
What made you choose to wear Farrell on your wedding day?
First I fell in love with my wife, Embla and then with Farrell’s Mullery coat so I choose to fuse them together.
What was your 'first dance' song at your wedding?
Nobody does it better - Carly Simon.
Christopher & Embla, we’re so proud that our Mullery coat could take part on your wedding day and we thank you for sharing this magical moment with us.

We would like to share a few pictures of the event itself to give you an insight on this momentous occasion.

THE LOOKS
Josh:
A force to be reckoned with, this character looks sharp as a razor, seen here with the Camel DeMob Coat, a stunning double-breasted overcoat which retains the masculine character of the 1940s original and showcasing his MG TF Farrell leather driving gloves, the must-have for the driving enthusiast.
Sid:
The typical modern, country gent, this Norfolk suit is the best companion for his 1958 Aston Martin DB4. Modern, dogtooth fabric with a half-quilted back and chest piece adds warmth as an outer layer, brilliant for that weekend driving. Add a cashmere pocket square and you’re instantly the dandy.

Chas 'n' Dave: Farrell Fellas
If you remember our Spring Summer 2013 Lookbook: Behind The Scenes video you'll also recall that it was soundtracked by the rockney strummings of Chas 'n' Dave's Margate. Mirroring our efforts to resurrect the Great British seaside the duo have undergone a similar revival, recently announcing that their first studio album in 27 years will be released this October.
As if the return of the pub sing-along wasn't good news enough for a Friday afternoon, the fellas are sporting some of their favourite Farrell threads in this teaser clip for the new record.
Take a look at it below and enjoy your weekend, especially if you're taking a day trip down to Margate...
