Afghan child labourer, Mahdi 13, is skinning a cow's head to make Afghan food Kala paacha in Mazar-i-Sharif. Kala Pacha is a traditional Afghan dish, which is also eaten in Iran and Iraq. As the name literally states, it’s the ‘head and feet’ broth of sheep or beef. To prepare this dish, bits and pieces of the feet and head including the brains, cheeks and tongue are cut into pieces. These parts are cleaned and roasted above fire and put all together with spices to simmer for the broth. This dish is known as the nutrition for wrestlers as breakfast to gain more strength and power. As many other Afghan dishes it is supposed to eat with hand and tradional Afghan naan.
