I worry. I worry that the people I love are making the wrong decisions for the wrong reasons. I worry they don't understand how valuable they are. I worry they don't realize how important they are to me, to my existence.
I'm so tired of wanting someone that doesn't want me the same way.
It is the awareness of the loss that hurts.
Believing or not believing never had anything to do with it.
Stubborn Eczema Tips
So, I had really stubborn eczema on my hands and feet for quite a while. Since its resolved and I haven't had it in months, I wanted to share. I did all the popular recommendations and even tried an elimination diet. None of that worked. Here's what did . . .
Lukewarm showers. Changing my personal hygiene brand entirely to Mustela Baby's eczema line helped a lot, but not totally. As long as I was heating my skin up enough to increase the permeability of chemicals, my skin was reacting with eczema. Idk why no one ever mentioned this to me. Seems like one of the first things they should've said.
Keeping skin moisturized. This may not necessarily help everyone. I just noticed that if my skin got dry regularly, the eczema got worse.
This is probably the biggest, most important one. And unfortunately, the least accessible. It was the water. Our tap water was so saturated in toxic chemicals it was perpetuating the eczema, regardless of what I tried. And honestly, even though our county is bad for water quality I still know people with "better" water in other counties that have eczema irrespective of treatment. We were able to get a Whole House Water Filter. Within a week my eczema began to clear. Now, remember what I said about heat increasing the permeability of chemicals into the skin and your overall system? That's all chemicals. Including the ones used in municipal water.
Given the actual state of water quality, there should be some kind of rebate or program that makes a Whole House Filter more affordable. But the reality is, not enough people are aware of just how bad their water actually is. So there's isn't enough noise being made. We're just assured that it's safe, when clearly it isn't.
I hope this helps someone.
Even though this may disintegrate, and hearts may break
I'll still follow you into the dark.
Why are disabled people never allowed to just complain? Why do we have to be subjected to other people’s advice all the time? Just let us vent without telling us how to get better or that we’re doing something wrong because we’re still sick. Clearly you do not know what the “chronic” part of “chronic illness” means.
Honestly, I'm just sick of hearing people in decent health tell me how tired they are. >_>
Reminder to my fellow spoonie/ disabled humans

one of my toxic traits is experiencing immense pain and just not telling anyone at all
Mine was conditioned. Being ignored, or worse, punished for it, cured me of the desire to seek help or speak up.
And somehow people still have the nerve to act like my misanthropic state is my fault.
It's a long way off
But a short walk there
It's a crushing defeat
But an endless victory
It's a silent scream
Within the waking nightmare.
I swear so many abled people seem to think my pain can’t be “that bad” since I’m still doing day to day things. But here’s the thing… I don’t have a choice. There’s literally not a day I’m not in pain. Some days are worse than others and I do as much as I can on my “better” days (which I then end up paying for later).
Like just because you see me doing things doesn’t mean my pain doesn’t exist or isn’t “bad enough”. Pain is the normal I’ve had to adapt my life to.
"My pain tolerance is much like my tolerance for your ignorance. You won't notice it unless I say it out loud."
Things I didn’t realize weren’t supposed to hurt your joints:
Scooping ice cream (wrists and fingers)
Walking, jogging, running (ankles, knees, hips)
Holding those shopping baskets (shoulders)
Playing piano (fingers/knuckles)
Walking up stairs (knees)
Using scissors (fingers, hands, wrists)
Vacuuming (wrists, shoulders)
Getting up after sitting for a while (hips)
EDIT (because y’all are taking this out of the context of my blog): this post is about me realizing the extent to which my chronic illness affects my life. I am not talking about acute, typical discomfort and joint “crankiness” that comes with daily wear and tear. I am talking about chronic pain that is a reflection of long term systemic issues (in my case, a soft tissue disorder). My blog is intended as a personal account of my chronic illness journey, and I think that this post may have reached people that didn’t understand that context. Feeling discomfort and mild pain when doing strenuous activity is normal. The chronic pain that I experience is not. Please see my reblog for elaboration.
I'd like to add "laying down" to the list. Maybe they'll get it, then.
I do.
And then, I just . . don't.
Is it me or does Jupiter in this also look like calcifer from howls moving castle
This is actually me after sleeping too hard, first thing upon waking.
But, yeah. Calcifer, definitely.
" . . . from whose oppression escape is vainly sought by obedience and submission. Robbers of the world, having by their universal plunder exhausted the land, they rifle the deep. If the enemy be rich, they are rapacious; if he be poor, they lust for dominion; neither the east nor the west has been able to satisfy them. Alone among men they covet with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To robbery, slaughter, plunder, they give the lying name of empire; they make a solitude and call it peace."

TIL that in the early 19th century, you would be taxed on how many windows you had.
I've never been able to keep a diary or journal, not really. It always seemed so... Egotistical? There's nothing about me or my life that's worth essentially dedicating a book to. My thoughts and doings are not so grand. Certainly they have value to me, as is the case with all, I suppose. But apart from that, they're just more existentially meaningless dross.
At first glance, a blog would appear to be a digital equivalent. But for myself, it is not so.
It is a screaming into the void, a metaphorical release via a physically dimensionless pathway. No one is reading this, no one cares, and there's no secrets-to-be-unveiled moment should anyone happen upon it. There's a vastness of freedom in that. And in the relative anonymity.
Today, my misanthropy was more prominent than usual. In part because most of my day was spent in a dissociative disregulated state that came without warning. Another part due an intrinsically upsetting interaction with another faceless, worthless and empty shell of a vain human. Totally convinced of their superiority and rightness, to an almost comical degree. I get so tired of these people, assured of their own value and merit, never questioning it despite the blatant lack thereof. What need does the world have of yet another in a historically long line of primitive apes? The kind that are like a concrete foundation, built up by those who are sure it is the best form, failing to recognize that it's rigidity is it's certain and eventual downfall. Failing to think enough to understand that a lack of flexibility will cause it to not only fall, but crumble into pieces and dust that will never be whole again after.
I'm tired of the emotionally immature, their worldview so easily threatened by a simple assertion or opinion of a stranger. Why rail against me? It changes nothing. You will still be insignificant and afraid at the end.
