We hear "sex is empowering" being preached so much but no one thinks of mentioning the fact that sex *with a partner who is not an asshole* is empowering. No one teaches young people that the dating pool can be very, very toxic and that sex with the wrong person can actually be extremely damaging.

Tired 😓
I’m sick. I’m tired. I’m sick and tired. I’m sick and tired that my body is exhausted. I’m sick and tired that I don’t remember what it’s like to live without pain. I’m sick and tired that some mornings I cannot get out of bed. I’m sick and tired of the pain. I’m sick and tired of the sciatica. I’m sick and tired of the pain induced insomnia. I’m sick and tired of doctor’s appointments and the numerous tests I endure. I’m sick and tired of the side effects of the medication I take. I’m sick and tired of the limited energy I have. I’m sick and tired of the limitations I have. I’m sick and tired of the brain fog I suffer daily. I’m sick and tired of Fibromyalgia that’s made me fragile. I’m sick and tired of Spondylolisthesis and Retrolisthesis and everything that comes with it. I’m sick. I’m tired. I’m sick and tired of this sick and tired body.

When someone complains about period pain and not being able to move for a day to someone who deals with chronic pain and chronic illnesses galore and they’re helping with stuff they’re not suppose to be doing.

Don’t lose yourself amongst the chaos
That phrase has stuck with me for a few days. Reflecting on my mental health, physical health and the health of the relationships between me and my family and friends. I’ve found I’m losing myself amongst the chaos. My mental health being the biggest contributor to this.
If I was honest my mental health hasn’t been the greatest since before I had surgery and has progressively gotten worse over time. A lot of my stressors are things that are out of my control especially within others who are close to me and my own struggles with my health.
I had a PLIF Spinal Fusion in June to correct the slip in my spine or Spondylolisthesis who are familiar with it. From what my surgeon said if I got into an accident and got hurt I would’ve needed emergency surgery as the slip was so significant.
I’ve had this condition for more than 5 years and along the way I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and CFS and have been in constant agony. Since surgery I don’t have any of the pain I use to have in my back but now I have more complications with a compressed nerve causing me even more pain on top of the Fibromyalgia pain that I’ve not been able to find relief for. I can’t wear pants or have blankets on me at times when I am sleeping as my thighs feel like I have fire ants biting me. The worst since in Australia we’re just coming out of the colder months.
These things I cannot control and I’ve found I’m losing myself slowly and my inner strength has been chipped away without me realising.
I’ve also realised I’m not surrounding myself properly with people whom encourage me. I’ve lost myself and the ability to reach out to seek my friend’s when I need to. Even more so the last couple of days I’ve lacked the strength to reach out to anyone and that is not in my nature to do that.
This is the only thing I can control through the chaos and I’m not doing it. I will get better at it in time and try to self-care as I’m lacking in keeping that promise to myself to allow myself time for me and only me.
It’s ok to not be ok but don’t lose yourself amongst the chaos.

Realisation...
I’ve come to the realisation I have no memory of what it feels like to be pain free and not suffering from fatigue.
Even after surgery this is still very fucking true 😪
When depression strikes
After writing this in 2015 I keep coming back to it when depression strikes. It’s a never ending battle and sometimes you just have to just sit and process everything running through your head.
It’s something that always feels the same and never is something you can control. You push to not relapse in self-harming and intentionally not eating but sometimes you do relapse. Fortunately I haven’t relapsed in the former but the latter has sunk in, other factors has made it difficult to eat since after I had surgery but I will be ok.
But in saying that it’s ok to not be ok.
