I'm 19 months into unemployment due to illness, and I just got a letter that my earlier payment for storage didn't go through, and I have until the 1st to pay 2000$ or they're auctioning off my storage, which has 12 years of games & retrotech.
Any help would be amazing.

HCR-00 "Robby" (1985) by Hitachi. HCR-00 uses gyroscopes and an ultrasonic range finder directed by a rotating reflector mounted on top of the robot.
"Hitachi Corporation, a leading Japanese conglomerate, embarked on their effort to revolutionize home cleaning in 1983. Executives directed a team of top engineers to build a robot vacuum. By 1985 several patents related to a "Self-traveling robot" known as "Robby" had been filed. The pride of its creators, Robby was a substantial machine, about 31 inches long and 20 inches wide and tall; it used a standard vacuum to pick up dirt. Resplendent with the latest technology, the robot included a sonar distance sensor, a gyroscope, and other sensors, all answering to an onboard microprocessor. At the zenith of Robby's renown a prototype was showcased at Domotechnica, an international trade fare held in Germany in 1985. Afterward, although a few more patents were granted, Robby wandered into obscurity. While cleaning, the robot made a valiant attempt to visit every point in a room by following a tidy pattern known as a boustrophedon path. But the external features the strategy relied on may have been Robby's undoing. One patent tells us, "If there is an obstacle in the room, the area after it becomes an uncleaned area, and if the room is not rectangular, an uncleaned area may exist." That is, for Robby to work well in their homes, customers would have to forgo the luxury of furniture." – Dancing with Roomba, Joseph L. Jones.

felt like techum tumblr would appreciate these. pictures from my visit to the technikmuseum in berlin
Let's go!!!!
First few steps: a holder for lenticular screens (beachscape from Zelda: Link's Awakening and a jump animation from Super Mario Land)
Super Mario Land cartridge (plus the internal chip)
Main body/back plate. The grill pieces do a great job replicating the feel of a GameBoy. I would know, I HAD ONE. And the two games that come with the set!
Start/Select and the D-pad mechanism
A/B buttons! The rubber band and the bumper under the D-pad feels like real buttons!!
More faceplate/edge work. Rubber tires for the Start/Select buttons!
Last pic dump: finishing touches, and the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening cartridge, complete with battery save!
From the 1989 Tandy Computer Catalog, the Color Computer 3 certainly wasn’t cutting-edge, but it was affordable! #retrotech #retrocomputing #computer #tandy #radioshack #colorcomputer3 #80s #coco #coco3 http://ift.tt/2k1IYnW
Sometimes I feel like the only kid that owned a CoCo3
i still have my coco3 in the closet with a couple joysticks!
