Carole Lombard to get your day going
Itara's gone home
I've transferred Itara and a few of my alts back to Malboro and rejoined my original FC. I'm playing but not currently RPing. I'm leveling an alt with my boy friend mostly. Don't be afraid to say Hi if you see me around.
I see that some of you are going to Dragon Con!
I know i've been MIA for a while but if you see a certain blue haired elf running around, don't be afraid to say hello!
My life has become so surreal.
I think I'm slowly becoming a more goth (and emotionally stable) IRL Itara
The FFXIV fandom NEEDS to accept the fact that Nero is still sexy even though he’s also very cringe.
LOL he’s so cringe but in a funny way
I thought the cringe was part of what made him sexy? (That probably says more about me than I want to introspect on)

Know that I do see this and every time someone makes a comment like this, every single time that someone tells me that they feel seen by my art, that they feel just a little more comfortable in their own wonderful skin that it fuels me to keep making art like this
the best part of endwalker was finding out that god is real and also an atheist. the second best part was god asking you to kill her to prove she was right. the third best part is that it worked.
i lied actually. the actual best part was that god decided to become god in order not to compromise her deeply-held atheist beliefs.
Ok can I actually talk about this for a sec? Because I have so many thoughts on venat and hydaelyn and it makes me really emotional.
Like, this is all true. I love that you go through all of Elpis before even seeing the real Hydaelyn in EW because you see that god was once... a woman. A woman who liked dogs, and adventures, and beautiful landscapes, and teasing her friends. Combined with what happens to Minfilia, and what almost happens to Ryne and Krile, you as a character and player are actually kind of well-acquainted with what happens when a woman/girl is filled with so much love and so much self-sacrifice that she takes on powers far beyond her own in an attempt to set things right.
Venat became god willingly, but the circumstances were terrible. You see this with Minfilia too, and though I dislike that so much of her character is filtered through Thancred, the game makes it very clear that regardless of her acceptance of her fate that this is not fair. Minfilia had her whole life ahead of her as a leader and lover (of people and friends and family). Ryne, too, nearly gave herself up to a fate where she left behind the people and the world she cared about until Minfilia herself said no. Every time we see Krile possessed by Hydaelyn in EW we see her physically drained or flagging afterwards, but stonily determined to keep lending herself as a vessel because she thinks it’s the right thing to do.
I feel like when Venat, as God Herself, asks you to fight and kill her, she wants to break this cycle she started. In an extremely meta sense, it’s no more fridging. It ties perfectly into the core themes of Endwalker - those of persistence in the face of grief, of holding on to autonomy and hope.
Venat sacrifices herself to become God, to ultimately prove a point about how sacrificing yourself for gods is unfair and ridiculous. I absolutely love it.
you are SO right, and this is very well-worded too! and ultimately this is why we fought primals too, it's an amplified, even more horrific manifestation of this same process. venat knew very well what she was doing (the dialogue in anamnesis anyder (i think?) makes the sacrificial aspect of both elidibus-as-zodiark and venat-as-hydaelyn obvious). she did all that specifically in hope that one day mankind wouldn't need to rely on apotheosis and rapture (= extreme example being the way eulmore worked under vauthry's rule) which........ once again the political aspect of it all...... damn
I'm sticking to one blog for right now. So, have some Anise screenshots.
Sup Nerds,
To all those who thought they'd gotten rid of me for good: suck it. I'm back! RP is still extremely limited, but I've been feeling the itch to write some so at least I have a place to dump it.
To everyone who was wishing I'd come back; I've missed you! <3
I can't decide if I love or hate this

FFXIV WRITE PROMT #10: Heady
Gilt and Regret
The sweet smoke hovered over them before being whisked away by the sea breeze. Itara, Anne now, took a deep inhale from her cigarette and leaned her head back on the bow of the ship. The afternoon sun turned her deep hair a brilliant shade of copper as she let out a large cloud of violet smoke. She grinned dreamily as she watched it swirl up and away.
Beside her on the port side was a Veira man, his legs spread wide and head cast back in a similar pose, a cigarette of his own pressed to his lips. Itara had taken to Gilt quickly. Too quickly for T’ichi’s liking, but their drunken tryst has yet to have a repeat. For the most part, Itara found his company calming. He was quiet and reassuring. He was quiet and spoke only when he needed to. If Itara was fire, T’ichi was a strong gale, and Gilt was the stone that kept them grounded.
“Do you regret it?” Gilt’s voice was low and gruff, the kind of voice that seemed odd coming from a man of only five and a half fulms. And the way he spoke, with so little emotion, it felt almost as if the voice was coming from an entirely different world. But the occasional glint in his dark shadowy eyes showed that he was really in there. Behind 10 stone walls mayhap, but in there.
