Work Hard Play Hard turned 1 today!
As a senior you really don’t realize you're going to miss it until it's gone! We all were so close. We called ourselves the ‘ORIGINAL FOUR” because we were the girls who brought color guard back to our school and we all stayed on the team throughout high school!
When you're holding everyone should look the same. NO ONE SHOULD BE OUT OF PLACE!! Standing in one straight line has to be one of the hardest positions. Its a risky thing to do because one person could mess the whole thing up.
When you're performing you have to give it you're all. Making faces give your performance a little something extra. It’s your job to give the crowd and judges what they want! If you don’t give it your all when your performing then your show is worthless!!
A team, group of players forming one side in a competitive game or competition. There’s no one who could tear a team apart. Work together, play together, win together!!
Don’t suck
Krystal (via fashotrey)
Before every performance, our coach told us “don’t suck”! Which was supposed to be a joke but I never laughed.
A perfect example of great posture!!!
This is very important while performing. You don’t want to be slumped over because the judges will take off for that. This girl is showing a really good example of how you should look. As you can see, she has a strong; tight grip on her rifle which is really good.
A rifle toss!!!! Oh yeah, we toss them also!!!
Rifles are not the easiest thing to toss. I have a few blisters myself from tossing a rifle. I also know a girl who broke a toe when she dropped the rifle on her foot. Rifles are very dangerous you really have to be careful when your playing around with them.
Phs practice 3/27
Practice makes perfect
Color guard practice at least two to three times a week to get ready for a competition which are usually on a Saturday. They compete against a numerous amount of teams to see which one is the best.
Makeup is color guard best friend!!!!
Makeup adds an effect on the show! It helps your audience see what type of show it is. If you are wearing dark makeup, that means you have a scary, dark show. In this video above this girl is applying makeup for a dark show. As you can see she is using dark eye shadow, dark lipstick, etc. Everything that will make the performance scary.

This is the song that was chosen as our winter guard. Our coach wanted to try something different. As you can tell this is really different

This is what practicing three times a week get you!!! Our show was the audience favorite but not the judges!
Not only do we spin, we also dance! Color guard incorporates dancing into the show. It helps when we're performing too slow songs.
