He was feeling the same way that Deborah was feeling right now. He had known AJ, been friends with her the first time he arrived at camp, and now he might have to tell her parents that she was gone. Gone. The idea made him sick in his stomach though, and something in him told him, no. That maybe they should try to find them.Â
âI thinkâŠ..â He looks at Deborah for a moment, pausing to make sure he was really suggesting the right thing, as they had just survived one night with that monster, Jason. âWe should find them. They gotta be out there. Somewhere, anywhere. We gotta look for them. We gotta!â It seemed the longer he started talking, the more frantic his voice got, and when he had finished he was lightly shaking Deborah. It was almost as if he was pleading with her and himself to go back or something. To find them, find some closure.Â
Could she go back in there? She wasnât even sure if she could. The chance of seeing her best friend dismembered. It was scary, and she wasnât brave at all -- but the sun was up, and maybe Deborah could do it.. Just for the both of them to get some kind of closure. Her hand slipped from the blanket and rested on the wound on her shoulder.
âWe should...â Deborah gave a small frown, fingers scratching at the bloodied bandage. There were enough cops there, they could be fine â-- I donât know if I can. Iâm not like you. Iâm not.. Iâm not brave and..â
The shaking made her ---- uncomfortable, and it was a firm idea that she couldnât say no to him. Deborah gave a small sad frown, before nodding âOkay! Okay.. Iâll go with you. I.. I have to donât i?â

   â ââ â the first night at the lodge had been fun, but right now - the girl that was in her room wasnât really the company she wanted to keep â do you need something? â
she would be a liar if she said she wanted to be there. the first night had been interesting enough but each passing moment was another reminder of how much she hated flies & how the humidity in the air made her hair so frizzy. she had been very⊠vocal, about her displeasure.
  " iâm looking for something to do⊠â a dramatic sigh is accompanied by a look that can only be described as pouty, âapart from, y'know, smashing mosquitoes. â
of course sheâd heard the whining. it seemed like a lot of people knew it would happen, but sheâd decided to keep herself away, often out taking a walk around with eric. knowing what had happened here? it still gave her the creeps, but she didnât question it. not anymore. she was here to have fun
   â why donât you go bother adam.. or kenny or hell, iâm sure brandon would love to see you too.â that mightâve come off harsher than sheâd expected it too â theyâre at the camp site.â
like for a one liner!

   as the feminine voice was heard, zuka immediately turned their icy gaze towards her & proceeded to stare at her couple of seconds before giving an answer. â yeah.. yeah i do. â awkwardly, the person nodded their head carefully as they slid their hands into their jeansâ pockets, the fingers searching for the used item. soon, they pulled out the green lighter && politely handed it over to her with only few words. â there. âÂ
  â s-sorry. iâll be quick. â times were still hard for her. being outside, she wasnât exactly ready yet. various people had said it wouldâve took a while, but deborah needed to get some time out. awkward gaze moves down to the lighter as she lights a cigarette, and swiftly pushes it back into the other persons direction â -- thanks. didnât mean to make you.. uncomfortable or whatever. â
forcedsovereign:
         the sarcasm is floating thick around clarke as she nods at the greeting from the girl. her blue eyes scan the cabin before she let her bag slip from over her shoulder. â great. thanks. â a small smile graced her lips as she takes a seat on what she assumes is her bed, or at least an open bed.Â
      â so what kind of stuff are we gonna be doing this summer? â
       â read bible verses, and teach kids that god is great. â
          there was a gentle roll of her eyes and deborah goes back to staring at the book in her hands. it wasnât that she wasnât excited to be at crystal lake, excited to be working, but the place made her uncomfortable as shit. â we have a first councilor meeting tomorrow. tonight? we just sleep because this next month is gonna be tiring. â
          â sul, sul! â

Usually Adam could handle things like this. But people were missing, and they both knew that could only mean one thing. Especially AJ. He felt a bit guilty about that. He shouldâve been there for her and he wasnât. He wasnât there for any of them. To protect them.
âI havenât either. IâŠ.think theyâre right, you know.âÂ
Her hands had ceased shaking minutes befoe, and the realisation that her best friend was gone was weird. Eric had persuaded Deborah to be here, and she couldnât help. â---- Oh god, Iâm gonna have to tell Ericâs mom.â That was something she couldnât do.
âThis was a terrible idea..â
@ofhungcr
   â excuse me? you uh.. you wouldnât have a lighter, would you? â
@hxrsepxwered
     â theyâre saying four didnât make it. â sheâs been wrapped up in the blanket the cops had given her since the sun had risen â  -- i havenât seen aj, chad, eric or that.. guy that helped. â
places down another gentle starter call.
A born loner, Adam didnât depend on anyone. But there was someone out there, alone in the dark that he cared for. âAJ, Iâm on my way.â
