You’re right, it is supposed to be about fun and it certainly used to be an escapism for me. However, ever since my stay in the psychiatric hospital and the therapy there all of my coping and escaping mechanisms haven’t been working very well anymore. But that’s not necessarily bad, it anchors me more to reality.

I’d very much like to try RP’ing again though. Eobarry is about the only Flash ship that has been able to hold my interest during my time-out, and your Eobard has always been one of my favorites; so close to canon it’s almost scary. I’d be very thrilled if you want to RP despite me being behind on so much ^^

But if there’s any part of you that still wants to roleplay - and it sounds like there definitely is - you shouldn’t let that stop you from trying. Who knows, it might help lift that fog a bit, you know?

Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words about my portrayal of Thawne. Honestly, that makes me REALLY happy to read. It’s good to know I’m doing justice to the character! I try to be as canon-accurate and true to the character as I can be, but sometimes my depression gets in the way and I doubt myself. So that really does mean a lot! And I’m also glad to hear that Eobarry stayed with you consistently - it seems like a lot of people I used to play with preferred other ships, but still liked Eobarry enough to play it. Coldflash, for example, seems to be a lot more popular. So it’s good to hear that there’s another passionate Eobarry shipper out there! haha

And yes, if and when you’re ready for it, I’d love to RP with you! :) I think we’ll have a lot of fun together!

You’re welcome! I understand how depression can make you doubt yourself, it’s like a bad voice in your head that never stops, but I’m glad that my words helped. And I also don’t mind repeating them whenever you need to hear it, because it’s the truth : )

The funny thing with me is; I used to ship Coldflash just as much as Eobarry but for some reason it doesn’t grab my interest like it used to anymore now.

I am willing to give it a try again. You convinced me; I realized now is as good a time as any ^^

The last thing I remember was an episode where Barry was drunk af telling everybody he was the Flash and somehow they got in jail I think. That was hilarious. But to get back on topic I’m afraid to suck at playing Barry after being out of it for so long.

Honestly, I skipped most of season 3 entirely. I very quickly found that it was very gloomy and depressing, and as someone with clinical depression, the dark tone of that season wasn’t helping me much. I had pretty much quit the show at that point. But when I had heard that season 4 was back to a happy, cheerful, comedic tone similar to season 1, I decided to give it another chance and jumped back on board. And I’ve been watching ever since, but I still haven’t gone back to watch what I missed in season 3. Nor do I think I really care to.

My point is, whenever you feel ready to jump back into the show, it will be there for you. The fandom looks A LOT different than it did a few years ago when I was more active, and truth be told I miss a lot of the people I used to play with, but… I’m still keeping this blog active, hoping that I find new people to play with that bring me the same joy and anticipation that the old threads brought me.

You clearly still have a love for Barry and the Flash. And, honestly, that is what’s important. If you do decide you want to play the character again, people will forgive you for not being entirely caught up on the show. And if they don’t, they’re probably not worth your time anyway. RPing is a hobby, it’s meant to be fun and an escape from the pains and stresses of real life. If the only thing holding you back is that you’re afraid people will judge you or that you won’t do the character justice, my advice would be not to take it so seriously and just let yourself have fun. If there’s something deeper and/or your passion for Barry is gone, honestly, I understand. No pressure.

I remember liking your Barry a lot back in the day. If you choose to come back and play him again, I’d be very happy and very excited to see you around again. If not, I won’t ever hold it against you and I understand 100%. This is a hobby, we’re all here to have fun!

Omfg those Batman references! And yes, Barry, you’re absolutely right. You need to be a total badass in order to survive in a city like Gotham. Even with everything Barry’s been through (though of course I only know up till the end of s3), I still think he’d be too innocent for Gotham. The sheer amount of violence, corruption, manipulation and backstabbing going on in that city makes Eo, Zoom and Savitar look like child’s play in comparison. And Barry in Green Arrow suit? What? Okay, now I HAVE to start watching again. There is no doubt anymore. I need to know what is up with that.

I’m certainly not against Ecco being a Harley Quinn type character,

But they better show me the freaking character development story cuz there’s no way she went from a quiet henchwoman to a raving lunatic without some type of something happening to her.

I don’t even care if they explain it in a lazy way wether it be by simply saying it or maybe showing Jeremiah spraying her with his own altered laughing gas or Ecco simply changing her personality by Jeremiah’s request (cuz those choices would be really lazy in my opinion tbh.) I don’t give a flying frick they just better explain.

I mean, I know she’s devoted her life to him and will do literally anything he asks of her but that’s a whole goddamn personality change, and that deserves some type of reasonable explanation.

Anywho, Francesca and Cameron are amazing regardless.

In that case, it would make more sense. But other than that, I would need a good explanation as well, otherwise I don’t buy the sudden personality switch and I won’t be able to like her character.

The 100th episode, which aired a few weeks ago, revealed that he’s still around. He was also in the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover event last year and had some neat scenes.

It’s LOOKING like Thawne’s gonna be the main villain of this season. He’s back in like a BIG way. Sooooo <3

OOC: Cool! But about that crossover event, someone told me it was best not to watch it because it ruined the character.

I would have preferred it if he wasn’t the big bad. Obviously he can’t be a part of team Flash again like in S1 nor do I think he should be one of the good guys, but maybe something somewhere in between. Still a villain and doing villainy things but not out to kill them. I liked that they made him more human than the comic version Eobard. And now that Barry has been confronted with his own darkness in the form of Savitar, he should be able to understand Eobard better too.

But I’ll also take whatever Eobard I can get! I’m really glad he’s going to be back ^^ That gives me some motivation to continue watching!

I thought so too! Although then I thought. Jerome would take over the show first instead of saying it. Like he did with that music concert. Drama queen!Jeremiah (not saying that’s a bad thing, I actually like that about him) first needs to announce it before doing it, that’s how extra he is lol

So much happening in there! I have to watch this like 50 times to analyze everything. I watched it 3 times so far and I can’t stop making squeaky noises. omfg

First of OSWALD HAVING A BULLDOG NAMED EDWARD OMG I CAN’T X’D AND ED FINDING OUT ABOUT IT! dfmsdlfdkfdk How damn adorable is that! I was a bit angry at him for killing Butch but how can I stay angry when he does such adorable things omg! Ed’s hair is so long lol. Oswald should give him a haircut. JEREMIAH! BRUCE! ACE CHEMICALS!!!!! IT’S GONNA HAPPEN! HE’ S GOING TO FALL IN IT! OMG! Even though he already has the pale skin and green hair now. “I wanna be the star of the show!” fffffffffffffffffffff that’s totally something I could see Jerome saying. Although maybe he wouldn’t say it. He would just take over, like he did with that music concert. Still a great line though. And the onesided Wayleska is strong again in this one.

Bruce’s “You mean nothing to me.” was very very painful though.

Can’t wait for the fics! Okay, unpopular opinion: I don’t like Ecco. And no, not because I’m a Wayleska shipper because it’s clear that Wayleska is only onesided and very very toxic. I would never want it to be canon. I just don’t get Ecco’s motives. I didn’t mind normal Ecco. Even when she beat the shit out of Jerome. She was Jeremiah’s guard/assistent/proxy, it was her job to protect him. To protect a young man with some social issues but who was overall pretty normal (or so we assume anyway, I also have a theory he could have been the psychopath all along). She seemed normal as well. (again, something we assume)

But then suddenly said normal guy turns evil and she just goes along with that??? He starts killing people and asks her to kill people as well and she’s totally fine with that. Even if she already had a crush on him, that makes no sense to me at all. Unless I get a decent explanation in the show, I can’t get behind her character. What’s up with Bruce saying “I thought I’d killed you.” to Selina??? Or am I so deaf I hear ‘I’ instead of ‘he’. I’ve replayed it a few times and I keep hearing ‘I’. I don’t get it. Does he feel responsible for Jeremiah shooting Selina? I also have a feeling that her newfound powers are going to make them grow a bit apart though : ( because Bruce will probably want to stop her from going too far like we can see in the trailer, and Selina won’t have that. Selina might even think it’s okay to kill bad guys (she was going to kill Jerome without hesitation in that diner scene and we’ve already seen her kill bad people) whereas Bruce has his rule not to kill. With Ivy I have a bit of a similar problem as with Ecco. Why did she become so evil in her new form? What does she suddenly have against Bruce?! Did she conveniently forget he helped her when she was still her younger version. Last time she wanted to kill him because she thought his company was doing something horrible to plants, but as she found out, it wasn’t. So she should have no reason to still want Bruce dead. I wonder who Barbara is screaming about. The trailer makes it look like it’s Jim, but that could be misleading. And in another scene they seemed to be getting cozy, which was shocking... maybe Jim tries to manipulate her, tries to get information out of her by making it seem like he still has feelings for her? Idk. That would be an asshole move for him. She really hates Oswald, so it could be him too. Or Ed. Gotham’s most hated son, in Barbara’s opinion could be a lot of people. Idk. OMG I need this season like right now! And I’m going to die when it’s over TAT

ooc: Dilemma

I still love Barry, although I’m probably very rusty when it comes to RP’ing him. Very very rusty. And besides that my Barry is way behind, only up till season 4 episode 2 or 3 or something. I think the last I saw was them freeing that poor guy that got beaten to cry his special tears and that ran away from them. Something like that. That was in July so quite a while ago. I was with my brother at the time. He was trying to distract me from my aunt’s passing. It was only helping a bit... But back on topic. My Barry would be very outdated. I could first continue watching though. I need something to distract me during the holidays, starting Saturday.

I feel like most people I knew have moved on from the Flash though, or is that too hasty a conclusion to make? I could observe for a few more days.

Then there’s also my Gotham obsession which is huge right now and which will only grow bigger once those last 10 episodes start which is in the beginning of January I believe. So maybe I’d get more use out of a personal blog rather than an rp blog and I should revive my personal one instead or even try making a Bruce account to RP some Valeyne and/or Wayleska idk. I say Bruce because there’s NO WAY I’d be able to do a remotely convincing Jerome or Jeremiah. Trust me, I’ve tried writing baby Batjokes fics and nope, I don’t do them justice. Jerome is my Gotham bae though. It’s crazy, I know. But I can relate to him (not to the homicidal maniac part of him let’s be clear on that lol) and sympathize with him in some ways and if only someone had helped him, been there for when he was young... Even only one person! One! It could have made a difference. If only there had been someone who saw through Jeremiah’s lies and stood by Jerome, he wouldn’t have taught himself that nobody cares and nothing matters, that killing someone didn’t matter because everything was one big joke where there shouldn’t be any rules, and you need to break free from sanity so that you can see “you’re just tiny little cogs in a giant absurd machine” called society... Though that last one has some truth in it, the rest of it always makes me feel sad thinking about.

TLDR; Doubting between RP’ing Barry again (but an outdated version because I’m not up to date) and it seems like most people I knew have moved on from The Flash, RP’ing Bruce from Gotham or just reviving my personal account again so that I can post all kinds of stuff again without annoying too many people.
