Never had he imagined that he, the Lee Donghae, would sit in his best friend’s apartment, holding, no clutching, a box of ice cream in his hand, shoving the cold content down his throat. But then again, never had he imagined that the girl he had a huge, huge crush on would have a boyfriend who was everything Donghae was not.

Ugh, he sounded like a teenage girl. He felt like one too.

Shoving down another spoon with ice cream, he looked down at the now empty box and pouted. Where was the man in him, but most importantly, were there more ice cream in the freezer? If any of his male friends had seen him in this condition, they would’ve probably laughed at him, and he knew that, which was why he was at Hyorin’s house and not theirs.

“Hyorin,” he called out to his best friend, his eyes never leaving the empty ice cream box in his hand. With all its content gone, the box seemed so hollow and sad… just like his heart. Ugh, no! Pull yourself together, man! You’re better than this! He mentally scolded himself but it didn’t seem to have any effect as he just went back to his sulky condition.

“Hyorin, the ice cream box is empty.”

Suppressing a giggle, Hyorin looked at her best friend with a faint amusement. The image of Donghae clutching the ice cream box with all his might with that vulnerable expression was both funny and rather sad. Of course, the only thing that could cause such a carefree and stubborn guy to look like this, would be a girl. Oh dear. Seems like I'll have to be the noona today. 

"Yeah Aiden, I know the ice cream box is empty. Half of it melted away when you were sulking." She walked over to her best friend with a smile and ruffled his hair. "Aigoo, luckily I have the motherload in the freezer." Taking the empty box from his hands, she dumped it into the trash can and grabbed a fresh carton from the freezer. Walking back to Donghae, she placed it in his hands and began eating from it with her own spoon.

She stared at him, noting how empty and hollow his eyes seemed to be. Damn. This one must've been bad. "Yah, Lee Donghae. Was she that precious for you to be like this?" Pouting, she lifted his chin with her fingers and looked him into the eye. "Talk to me. I hate seeing my best friend look like this."
