My thoughts on other Voltage titles and how the love interests would get on with those in Star-Crossed Myth if they Met: Title two - The Princess in the Mirror

Now I am working on a fanfic (it's for a request from last January. I'm so sorry! I hope it'll be completed soon and I hope you are still around. Also hopefully length will make up for the wait too! (It's already over 12,000 words) 😅😫) but as that might be a while yet it's probably time I posted something - I haven't posted anything other than updates about the SCM gachas and stuff in the love365 app since February have I? Yeesh. (And yes I do hope to go back to this year's fluffbruary prompts at some point).

Just as a quick reminder: I ran a poll asking about this and it seems at least one person is interested in my thoughts about other Voltage characters and at least one other is interested in my thoughts about other Voltage characters specifically as to how they compare to the ones in Star-Crossed Myth.

That led to me doing this post for Metro PD: Close to You (and this whole idea was technically inspired by the random post I did for Our Two Bedroom story)

Today I'm going to cover The Princess in the Mirror. Now this series hasn't long been on Love365 but I have played quite a bit of this via its original standalone app (which is stamina ticket based and you can't re-read stuff you've already read without resetting the whole thing and certain events required items bought with gems and progression sometimes involved other things... so I'm glad to see the series over on Love365 now where I can just... buy the story and re-read it as much as I want).

Why pick this one when I've only played the full first main story for one love interest? Well this one actually kinda reminds of me of Star Crossed Myth in a way...

Potential spoilers for both series under cut

Okay firstly a quick overview of Princess in the Mirror: The MC is from our world and has a regular job and nothing much is really going on aside from an upcoming wedding for a friend of hers. It turns out that a mirror left to her by her Grandmother is actually a portal to a whole different world - a world in which her Grandmother was from and was that kingdom's princess. Hence the title Princess in the Mirror.

Now why does this remind me of SCM?

The King of Kristein is a jerk a lot of the time.

I may be wrong because I've not read his whole route but there's one character that seems to have known MC back in her own world and has forgotten that he's not originally from Kristein himself - or MC did at least spend some time in Kristein and has forgotten as has the love interest.

The MC is clearly torn between the two worlds because it turns out her family are actually originally from this world she finds herself in (just as SCM's MC is originally from the heavens)

The king's insistence that PITM MC must stay in Kristein and pick a spouse from these people she's only just met does somewhat give off the same vibe as being forced into a world that SCM MC previously had forgotten about but is expected to erase the sins of these supposed gods that have literally appeared in front of her

You get the same disconnect between cultures that you do in SCM too - whilst it's a bit more down to earth as this is a... well mirror universe if you will (though the vibe is more... I guess regency era? There's nobles and kingdoms and royal families and no electricity)... the PITM MC often mentions stuff that is commonplace on Earth (chocolate for example, I think rice was another) to which the love interests won't have a clue what she's on about (well until someone... usually Farris... happens to find it in another kingdom in their world). If anything the PITM MC is worse off than the SCM one as whilst she can understand everything that is being said in Kristein it becomes apparent right near the start that she can't read or write their language. Whereas in SCM as the gods could make MC understand a different Earth language just with a snap of their fingers, I'd imagine they could do the same for any written text if necessary.

Anyway I could ramble all day about the actual premise of this one and that isn't what these posts are supposed to be about. 😅

Onto the love interests then and how they compare to the SCM ones and how they'd get on with each other.

LUCA SAVINI

He's spiky and standoffish and insulting about MC's clothes and manner despite also being determined to be the one who will get the throne... except he isn't actually anything like that at all. He gives off this aura of an arrogant jerk who always gets what he wants and that when he finds out MC's secret acts as though he's doing you a huge favour... and yet gets pissed off with Farris for trying to flirt with her even though the relationship is currently a sham...

Look both his outer and inner temperaments are... well they're Scorpio. His outward arrogance means he maybe feels a bit like Scorpio with Leon's ego at times but mostly it's Scorpio he reminds me of - though he and Farris' demeanour towards one another could rival that of Zyglavis and Leon at times.

Farris also points out that he's a massive bookworm though so whilst Luca's personality is more like Scorpio's I can imagine Luca getting along with Hue better than Scorpio seems to.

JOESEPH REMY

My current bias for this series. He genuinely seems to want to help and doesn't really want the status position his family are trying to pressure him into. He's kind and reassuring and worried about MC's predicament and can play piano. He's Dui without the trauma. He's also really close with his family like Tauxolouve, though he also has a rather terse relationship with his father - it isn't as bad as Krioff and Aeiss but Joeseph clearly worries that he'll never be able to make his father (Norman) proud.

Just please don't leave him alone in the kitchen. He can follow recipes (so he's not a total disaster like Teorus) but he will add random savoury spices to everything and unlike Karno doesn't understand why the others find that a problem! That does mean I think he and Karno would get on really well though. In fact thinking about it his trepedation sometimes about the amount of presure put on him as a noble does somewhat remind me of Karno's reluctance about being a god.

But there's a moment in one of his special stories where he snaps at MC and then goes round the corner and literally says 'why am I like this?' and that combined with not only the piano playing but the distance he somewhat keeps at the start because he doesn't even feel like he's the one who deserves a high position? I think overall he gives me Dui vibes the most.

VINCENT CASPER

You want Zyglavis as your teacher? Congratulations, that is what this is. He comes across far more intimidating than he is, actually makes sure MC is alright in his own way, and has a sweet tooth.

In fact to give you an example of just how alike they are (though to be fair Vincent has been taksed with making PITM's 25-year old MC more princess like)? You know that special story of Zig's where he keeps correcting SCM's MC's table manners? Well imagine that but with everyone else present.

FARRIS LASSEN

Ughhhh. This is one of voltage's 'guy who hates all women and pretends to be nice to them' trope and I've yet to find one that works for me. His public princely demeanour reminds me of Teorus but his true personality is nothing like him. If anything he's probably closest to the son of the Dark King. He's also a massive wind up merchant in other people's routes. It's possible if I ever read more of his route his reasons will become more apparent and maybe I'd then warm to him but right now I just find his actions off-putting.

Maybe you personally can get on with this trope and that's fine, but at the moment I'd put Farris in the same category as Chikai from Our Two Bedroom Story: I can't get along with their main stories that well but Chikai's admiration bordering on a crush (probably putting it mildly to be honest!) for Karou in Karou's route in Our Two Bedroom story gives him some nicer interactions there (sort of. It also makes him kinda mad at MC. But then again I think that might be why Chikai works better in Karou's route - because you're seeing the real Chikai from the start. Uh sorry I'm getting off track here... back to Princess in the Mirror...) and in Farris' case it's kinda amusing to see him get so easily under Luca's skin and he's also quite chaotic in dropping something random that will make one of the others feel worried or jealous or make them overthink. He has that chaos element both Partheno and Ichthys have in SCM.

Personally I'll be over here with Dr Himuro from MetroPD Close to You. He also hates all women but difference is he doesn't mask it at all. He's more akin to Scorpio's reaction to all humans at the start of his route rather than actually malicious.

SIMEON CLAY

Oh boy this guy. This valet. Um... have you ever wondered what it would be like if Ichthys had Partheno's lewder mind? That's what this is. Like his more perverse comments are more weird than anything? And he does seem to throw them in simply to get MC to relax.

Look... he just randomly asks MC what colour her undergarments are in the middle of a serious conversation. As I say it kinda feels like what you'd get if Ichthys attempted to use Partheno-like comments.

Also, he reminds me of Partheno in that whilst Vincent will get him to shut up mid strange comment with just a look like Zyglavis would, he also seems to be able to persuade Vincent to tone his sterness down a bit sometimes.

FALKO VELVET

Oh sweet Falko. The most welcoming of everyone when MC first falls into this other world. He winks a lot which reminds me of Tauxolouve but his carefree nature masking his worries reminds me of Ichthys. Though the way he immediately tries to make MC feel more relaxed makes me think of Karno.

I think his constant cheerfulness and also the way he can clearly understand what Luca really means to say that he mostly reminds me of Ichthys' relationship with Scorpio.

If my suspicions are right about something I recall from what little of his route I've read so far, he also not only has a creative side like Tauxolouve but has also put that to one side, though more for an Ichthys-like reason. I could be completely off-base here though. 😅

ZELL RONDE

The rather intimidating guard who doesn't seem to say much at first but the second MC is in trouble he's the one to come to her aid in his route. I'd probably compare him most to Krioff from what litle I've read of his route so far. Heck Zell's hobby on the love365 introduction info page is even listed as cooking and we know how much of a natural Krioff was at that in Scorpio's 'to the Victor goes the Spoils' special story.

Okay then... after that ramble... I suppose then these are my gut feelings (subject to change - especially for ones I haven't read full routes for) about how they'd get on with each god...

Luca: Look he's Scorpio but with maybe a bit of Leon's egotistical side. He gives off this arrogant aura of being better than everyone else and being as blunt as possible with his wording when he doesn't mean to. He's probably too similar to Scorpio for them to get on at all and Leon isn't going to like that this human thinks he's the best of the best. Though having said that, if Scorpio isn't the one with SCM's MC I feel like maybe Luca's nickname for PITM's MC of 'Pajama Broad' might amuse him.

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Aigonorus (I'm basing this on Aigo's interaction with Scorpio in some of his special stories combined with the fact that Aigo can also be rather blunt), Krioff (I don't see a reason for them not to and if I recall correctly Luca is one of the better horse riders of the PITM nobles), Huedhaut, Doesn't have a problem with as such: Zyglavis (his ego might tip the Minister of Punishments over into lecture mode from time to time though), Ichthys (his relationship with Falko seems to be 'shut up! (cos I know you're right)' like Ichthys and Scorpio can be at times and yet also I feel like both Ichthys and Falko don't always get the hint to back away before really pissing Scorpio and Luca off), Patherno (he just seems to ignore Simeon's odder moments), Dui, Karno Clashes with: Leon, Scorpio, Teorus (probably one sided from Luca's end who will probably be immediately suspicious that Teo is like Farris. If he finds out that assumption is wrong he might tolerate him a little more but it doesn't feel like Luca likes Farris' pretend personality either), Tauxolouve (similar reason to Teo. Luca isn't one for those displays of affection, genuine or otherwise).

Joeseph: Joeseph likes to play piano and cats flock to him. He's totally going to be great friends with Dui. He's also quite studious... when he wants to be. What do I mean by that? Well if he enjoys a subject (piano, mathematics) he's easily top of the class, but if he doesn't find something interesting or useful... he actually used to skip the classes entirely. I feel like with the right subject he and Huedhaut could get on pretty well together. Joeseph is also one of the quieter of the Princess in the Mirror characters so that seems a plus for how they'd view each other too. In fact I could imagine Zyglavis and Leon getting into one of their usual arguments, Joeseph sighing softly to himself and mumbling to Huedhaut 'I see you have a Luca and Farris too...'

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Dui, Huedhaut, Zyglavis, Aigonorus, Ichthys, Karno, Tauxolouve Doesn't have a problem with as such: Leon, Partheno, Teorus, Scorpio, Krioff

Vincent: I think if he's in the same room as Zyglavis everyone better go hide because if he plants into Zyglavis' mind that the etiquette Kristein has would be better for discipline they're going to be a nightmare. His vast knowledge though is going to mean he should also get along well with Huedhaut. I'd imagine he'll get just as exasperated as Zig at Leon though.

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Zyglavis, Huedhaut, Karno Doesn't have a problem with as such: Partheno, Krioff, Dui, Tauxolouve. Somewhat exasperated with: Teorus (more concentration!), Scorpio (that's not any way to speak!) Clashes with: Ichthys (he will not tolerate such nonsense), Aigonorus, Leon (he's too close to Zig in temperament and work ethic to get on with the minister of Wishes)

Farris: Look if they fall for his princely act the gods will probably just see him as another Teorus... but... if they see either the PITM MC or the SCM MC give him a gift and what he actually does with it, a lot of them are going to be rather irritated with him. Teorus especially would be furious if he finds out someone is getting such adoration from females and is actually rejecting them and not happily accepting the attention at all.

Full gut feeling then... yeesh this one is hard (and all are subject to change of course) Get's on with: Partheno (I think they could both scheme something, especially if Partheno is still a demon and Farris isn't with PITM's MC) Doesn't have a problem with as such: Huedhaut, Dui, Zyglavis, Krioff, Karno, Ichthys Could go either way: Teorus (Teo will get on with him if he thinks the other is being genuine but definitely won't if he finds out it's an act. I'm not sure Farris would care either way), Tauxolouve (I also can't imagine him being best pleased about someone not being upfront about what they actually want) Clashes with: Scorpio, Aigonorus, Leon

Simeon: He thinks things can be made better with sweets so he's definitely going to get on with Ichthys and I'd imagine the comments he makes is going to pique Partheno's interest at the very least.

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Partheno, Ichthys, Tauxolouve, Karno, Dui, Teorus Doesn't have a problem with as such: Zyglavis, Scorpio, Krioff, Huedhaut Clashes with: Leon, Aigonorus (I just think the other might be a little wary of the Partheno-esque comments... although if he can get past that he could be friends with him).

Falko: He'll probably get on with everyone quite honestly. His smile is as radiant as Ichthys but he conducts himself more like Ichthys does at that ball for his parents. He's definitely going to get along well with Karno and Dui and if Tauxolouve dares to actually get involved for once he will see that he and Falko both have the same love and care for their families.

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Ichthys, Karno, Dui, Tauxolouve, Huedhaut, Leon, Aigonorus, Teorus Doesn't have a problem with as such: Scorpio (though the other may get exasperated with him in the manner he sometimes does with Ichthys), Zyglavis, Krioff, Partheno

Zell: He's very focused on his duties as a royal guard and as such I think he'd at least get the admiration of Zyglavis but as I said his temperament is for the most part the silent type near the start so I'd imagine he'd feel more comfortable with Huedhaut, Dui, and perhaps to a lesser extent Aigo. I'm not sure quite how he and Krioff would react to each other - though as they have at least two things they could talk about (cooking and horses) I'm leaning towards that they would actually get on pretty well quite quickly. (Actually the one hesitancy I might have is that Zell might be wary of Krioff if he finds out the other's fire power - even if he's not the one with PITM's MC one of Zell's main duties is to protect her at all costs, so...)

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Zyglavis, Huedhaut, Dui, Aigonorus, Karno, Tauxolouve Doesn't have a problem with as such: Krioff (could be friends if reassured his powers won't be an issue and they actually yanno talk to each other), Scorpio, Partheno, Leon, Teorus Clashes with: Maybe Ichthys? (I can't imagine someone whose job it is is to make sure the princess is safe would appreciate his pranks)

My thoughts on other Voltage titles and how the love interests would get on with those in Star-Crossed Myth if they Met: Title two - The Princess in the Mirror

Now I am working on a fanfic (it's for a request from last January. I'm so sorry! I hope it'll be completed soon and I hope you are still around. Also hopefully length will make up for the wait too! (It's already over 12,000 words) 😅😫) but as that might be a while yet it's probably time I posted something - I haven't posted anything other than updates about the SCM gachas and stuff in the love365 app since February have I? Yeesh. (And yes I do hope to go back to this year's fluffbruary prompts at some point).

Just as a quick reminder: I ran a poll asking about this and it seems at least one person is interested in my thoughts about other Voltage characters and at least one other is interested in my thoughts about other Voltage characters specifically as to how they compare to the ones in Star-Crossed Myth.

That led to me doing this post for Metro PD: Close to You (and this whole idea was technically inspired by the random post I did for Our Two Bedroom story)

Today I'm going to cover The Princess in the Mirror. Now this series hasn't long been on Love365 but I have played quite a bit of this via its original standalone app (which is stamina ticket based and you can't re-read stuff you've already read without resetting the whole thing and certain events required items bought with gems and progression sometimes involved other things... so I'm glad to see the series over on Love365 now where I can just... buy the story and re-read it as much as I want).

Why pick this one when I've only played the full first main story for one love interest? Well this one actually kinda reminds of me of Star Crossed Myth in a way...

Potential spoilers for both series under cut

Okay firstly a quick overview of Princess in the Mirror: The MC is from our world and has a regular job and nothing much is really going on aside from an upcoming wedding for a friend of hers. It turns out that a mirror left to her by her Grandmother is actually a portal to a whole different world - a world in which her Grandmother was from and was that kingdom's princess. Hence the title Princess in the Mirror.

Now why does this remind me of SCM?

Farris: Look if they fall for his princely act the gods will probably just see him as another Teorus... but... if they see either the PITM MC or the SCM MC give him a gift and what he actually does with it, a lot of them are going to be rather irritated with him. Teorus especially would be furious if he finds out someone is getting such adoration from females and is actually rejecting them and not happily accepting the attention at all.

Full gut feeling then... yeesh this one is hard (and all are subject to change of course) Get's on with: Partheno (I think they could both scheme something, especially if Partheno is still a demon and Farris isn't with PITM's MC) Doesn't have a problem with as such: Huedhaut, Dui, Zyglavis, Krioff, Karno, Ichthys Could go either way: Teorus (Teo will get on with him if he thinks the other is being genuine but definitely won't if he finds out it's an act. I'm not sure Farris would care either way), Tauxolouve (I also can't imagine him being best pleased about someone not being upfront about what they actually want) Clashes with: Scorpio, Aigonorus, Leon

Simeon: He thinks things can be made better with sweets so he's definitely going to get on with Ichthys and I'd imagine the comments he makes is going to pique Partheno's interest at the very least.

Falko: He'll probably get on with everyone quite honestly. His smile is as radiant as Ichthys but he conducts himself more like Ichthys does at that ball for his parents. He's definitely going to get along well with Karno and Dui and if Tauxolouve dares to actually get involved for once he will see that he and Falko both have the same love and care for their families.

Full gut feeling then... Get's on with: Ichthys, Karno, Dui, Tauxolouve, Huedhaut, Leon, Aigonorus, Teorus Doesn't have a problem with as such: Scorpio (though the other may get exasperated with him in the manner he sometimes does with Ichthys), Zyglavis, Krioff, Partheno

Zell: He's very focused on his duties as a royal guard and as such I think he'd at least get the admiration of Zyglavis but as I said his temperament is for the most part the silent type near the start so I'd imagine he'd feel more comfortable with Huedhaut, Dui, and perhaps to a lesser extent Aigo. I'm not sure quite how he and Krioff would react to each other - though as they have at least two things they could talk about (cooking and horses) I'm leaning towards that they would actually get on pretty well quite quickly. (Actually the one hesitancy I might have is that Zell might be wary of Krioff if he finds out the other's fire power - even if he's not the one with PITM's MC one of Zell's main duties is to protect her at all costs, so...)

Your fingers warmed enough to bend around the buttons of your coat, undoing them as the comfortable temperature of the museum settled into your bones.

Huedhaut, whose scarf had been laced around his neck earlier had also loosened it, now leaving it to simply hang elegantly from his neck, down to his black turtleneck.

“I’ve read about this,” he said, gesturing to a vase from ancient Egypt.

“Of course you have,” you said, following behind your husband as he approached the encased vase from a respectable distance, and the soft orange lights coming from above coated his figure, like syrup trickling down his hair and shoulders.

He halted, his shoes clicking against the clean smooth floor of the museum and pulled you close, one finger hooking into the belt loop of your coat and staying there as he began speaking quickly about the artifact.

You listened, of course, the pursuit of knowledge piquing your interest as his voice narrated facts, creating vivid pictures of temples, sand and ceremonies in your mind.

“You can also see it from this side, where the paint on it proves this,” he said and walked you over to the other side, continuing to ramble without stuttering once.

You had come here with the initial goal of listening to the tour guide of the museum explain the artifacts and the history surrounding them, but at some point, Huedhaut had started correcting him in hushed whispers that only you could hear and you slipped away from the group secretly.

Now Huedhaut’s voice filled this secluded section of the museum, his tone smooth like silk and steady like the foundations of the history he spoke to you about. “It brings back to what I said earlier about this,” he continued and you smiled nodding, when he looked at you.

You crossed your arms over your chest and at some point, you had forgotten of the vase and his words had melted into notes of a melody. His eyes gleamed with confidence, certain of his sources and truly ecstatic to be allowed to talk for so long about something he found interesting.

You smiled and nodded, his usually reserved and measured movements and words now moving with passion and unrestrained, a man who had to stay silent for way too long and was now finally allowed to soak into the moment and be heard by someone.

As his own finger remained hooked into the belt loop of your coat, you reached out and gripped the ends of his light blue scarf with both hands, before tugging hard. Huedhaut stumbled and a surprised, strangled gasp fell out of his lips, before they found yours.

He blinked at first, his free hand instinctively reaching for the other belt loop of your coat to hold onto, his knees buckling a bit and blood rushed to his face and ears.

You chuckled against his lips and titled your head to deepen the kiss, still holding onto his scarf to keep him from pulling away from you.

Huedhaut sighed against your mouth, before his muscles relaxed, settling back into the twenty-first century and abandoning the ancient times. His grip on your belt loops tightened and his tongue grazed yours softly.

When you two pulled away, your husband was breathing heavily, tugging at the high neck of his black turtleneck. “What… W-Was that… About?”

You smiled, smoothing out your coat. “You looked adorable and really smart and I wanted to kiss you.”

Huedhaut, your usually quickwitted husband was now silent, his eyebrows furrowed and he hanged his head, his blue black hair concealing his reddish face from that angle. “I… Will get you back for that.”

“One day,” you laughed.

He smiled at the sound of your laughter, his heart trapped into love a little too tightly for him to even pretend to be angry with you. “One day,” he agreed, feeling like his heart, that beating, traitorous organ, was buried beneath many warm blankets, even if outside the museum the wind was howling and whistling for you to come back and tremble in the cold.

A/N: The minute I saw one of the prompts for today was 'strop' my mind immediately went to Teo. Hope this one works!

February 19th: Change of Plans (Teorus/MC)

___ had spent all day working at the planetarium looking forward to her date in the evening with her boyfriend. She’d been so happy milling around that Hiyori had even teased her a little for it but it had been so long since she and Teorus had had this much spare time aligning that ___ didn’t even mind that for once.

However, as soon as Teorus appeared and headed over to them both after her shift was over, ___ could tell something was wrong. His smile was a dazzling as always, and as per usual people walking by where they had met outside the planetarium entrance were turning to look at the person who gave off an aura of a prince, but his eyes betrayed distress.

“Teo? Are you alright?”

Teorus’ smile suddenly faded into a thunderous expression. “I’m fine! We’re still going on this date no matter -“ he cut off, coughing. His voice had sounded extremely hoarse as well.

Hiyori frowned with worry. “Sounds to me like you’re sick. Perhaps ___ better just walk you home?”

“I’m not spending my time with ___ doing nothing! We’re supposed to be-“

Sighing heavily, ___ grabbed his hand at this point. “Teo. Hiyori’s right.”

“But…” Teorus protested in a whiny voice, averting his gaze.

“Look… why don’t we go to my apartment? I’ll cook you something to help with your throat.”

The other’s eyes lit up a little at that. “You mean you’ll stay with me?”

___ rolled her eyes. “Of course. You didn’t think I’d just let you get through this on your own did you? We can go to mine or to yours I don’t mind…”

Teorus hugged her tightly. “It has to be yours. I don’t want the others knowing about this.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow then, ___," Hiyori called out to them with a smile. “And Teorus, please take care. I’m sure will look after you.”

Smiling more genuinely once more, Teorus saw Hiyori off with a wave. The second he and ___ were alone he snapped his fingers, teleporting them back to her apartment.

When they arrived there, Teorus stumbled and ___ had to steady him. With concern she helped him to lay down on the bed.

“Why did this have to happen today of all days?” Teorus grumbled, clearly still rather put out by not being able to go out on a date but not in as much of a strop as he had been before.

___ sat down on the edge of the bed and ran a hand through his hair before putting her hand against his forehead. “Well… you don’t seem to have a fever at least. I thought the gods didn’t really get ill?”

Teorus pouted. “We don’t. But someone has been causing problems up in the heavens with a potion. Scorpy dealt with it but…” He trailed off, coughing again.

“Easy now,” ___ murmured gently. “Just rest for the moment. I’ll go make you some soup.”

“No… don’t leave my side…” Teorus whined, grabbing her hand.

___ sighed heavily. “Alright. How about I just move for one second and get you a glass of milk then?”

Teorus rather reluctantly let go of her hand.

True to her word, ___ returned as quickly as she could with a glass of milk. She went to hand it to him as he sat shakily up but he shook his head. “Teo?”

“Help me drink it…” Teorus muttered, his voice pleading but unable to keep a rather devilish expression creeping onto his features.

“You are starting to enjoy this,” ___ retorted, though she couldn’t help but smile at how much he was relying on her. She helped him to drink the milk.

Once it was gone, Teorus turned to her. “___ , I…”

“What is it?”

“I love you.”

___’s eyes widened and tried to stop the heat rising to her face. “I… I love you too. But why say that all of a sudden?”

“Because… I owe you an apology…”

Blinking, ___ frowned. It was unusual for Teorus to admit he was sorry about something. “You are ill aren’t you? You aren’t pretending?”

Anger crossed Teorus’ features at that. “Of course I am! There’s no way I would have done this after we -“

“Alright, alright, sorry,” ___ hastily interrupted, hugging him gently. “So why are you apologising? I already said it was fine that we couldn’t go anywhere tonight.”

Teorus averted his gaze, pouting a little. “Because it is my fault I’m ill. I could have just let the potion that rebel god threw hit Ikky…”

___’s eyes widened and she smiled lovingly. “Teo… this potion… it’s not contagious, right?”

The other frowned in puzzlement. “No… it’s not even active anymore. This is just the remnants whilst the antidote Scorpio gave me works through my system… why are you -“

Leaning forward, ___ cut him off by kissing him briefly on the lips. “So I could do that,” she mumbled. “You always are so caring, Teo. I understand why you stopped something like this infecting Ichthys. I’m glad you were able to help. And we can still spend time together.”

Smiling more genuinely now, his irritation at himself now completely forgotten, Teorus pulled her into another kiss.

Summary: After Ichthys and Huedhaut reassure MC that she is perfectly fine the way she is, Ichthys finally pushes Hue into revealing what is behind his behaviour and nudges the other in the correct direction in order to find his own happiness again.

A/N: This one was partly inspired by me having to check what auspicious meant and then probably inspired by knowing what MC is like about being self-conscious about her looks due to Teorus' special story 'Secret Blessings from the Gods: Wishes (Teorus - From the Most Beautiful Man in the World)' but then it diverges from there (though hopefully that part is different enough from that story - that said the focus of this fic is more Ichthys&Hue's friendship and the Hue/Tauxolouve stuff). This is intended to be in a timeline where MC is with Ichthys but Tauxolouve's main story also happens platonically (or at least a certain scene does). So some spoilers for Huedhaut, Ichthys, and Tauxolouve's routes here.

Also sorry this is only the second prompt I've done this fluffbruary - hopefully I might find time to go back and fulfil the ones I've missed in the next month or so, but whilst it is still February I will concentrate on the prompt for that actual day if I have time/inspiration for that prompt.

February 17th: Relationships to Savour (Ichthys/MC, Huedhaut/Tauxolouve)

One day ___ was at the mansion quietly reading a magazine whilst she waited for her boyfriend to get back from the heavens.

In the other corner of the living room, Huedhaut glanced up from his book as he heard footsteps and smiled wryly as the new arrival gestured to him to say nothing.

Suddenly, ___ found that she could no longer see what she was reading as her eyes were covered.

“Guess who?”

___ stifled a laugh. “Even before you spoke I would’ve hoped it was you, Ichthys.”

As the other moved his hands away, ___ looked up only to find her lips captured with a kiss instead.

Ichthys pulled away, his eyes glinting with a big grin plastered all over his face. “I knew I could still surprise you!”

“I-Ichthys! We aren’t even alone right now!”

“Huh?” Ichthys eyes lit up blue momentarily, but then he smiled as heard a soft sigh from Huedhaut who had put his book down. “Oh. It’s fiiine. Hue doesn’t mind!”

“You seem very confident that you know exactly what I think,” Huedhaut responded in a deadpan tone.

Ichthys glanced over to him, frowning. “Hue… since when were you…”

Huedhaut chuckled lightly. “And since when did you forget to not take everything I say so seriously.”

“Don’t scare me like that!” Ichthys snapped, though his tone was relieved. Relaxing back into a smile he sat down beside ___ on the sofa. “Watcha reading anyway?”

“…Nothing much…” ___ hesitantly mumbled.

Ichthys put a hand on his hip. “You seemed pretty engrossed when I first got here so surely it’s gotta be something interesting. Lemme take a look!”

As he tried to pull the magazine out of her grasp, ___ sighed heavily and somewhat reluctantly handed it to the other.

“The secret to auspiciously acquiring the perfect curves?” Ichthys read the article title, frowning deeply. He bit his lip. “Um… auspiciously? What exactly…”

“It means they’re claiming what the article does is likely to be successful,” Huedhaut answered him, walking over to them both. His own expression now seemed rather worried. “Though what I would like to know is why ___ is reading such a facile article in the first place.”

“Huh? Why? What is this article for then? Curves on what?” Ichthys asked.

“… On me…” ___ suddenly spoke up, her voice cracking. “It’s for improving body shape. It’s suggesting certain savoury items can help as long as -“

Ichthys sighed heavily. Snapping his fingers and making the magazine disappear, he then snapped them again to summon a Taiyaki.

___ seemed extremely puzzled as he handed it to her. “Um… why are you giving me this? And weren’t we just talking about savoury food? This is the complete opposite of that!”

“Just try a bit!”

A little wary due to this being Ichthys they were talking about, ___ took a rather tentative bite of the food in her hand, her eyes widening as she realised that whilst it was shaped like a Taiyaki it was actually brown bread with lettuce and tomato inside it. She looked questioningly at Ichthys.

“This way you could follow that diet and no one else would notice,” Ichthys muttered. “But…” he added, taking her hands in his own now. “You don’t have to do this. If you want to then that’s fine I guess but to me you’re perfect just the way you are.”

“… I am?”

“Of course! You’re my ___ aren’t you?” Ichthys retorted with a chuckle before sticking his tongue out.

Forcing a somewhat uneasy smile, ___ tried to relax. “Sorry, I guess that article got into my head.”

“Ichthys is right, you are perfect just the way you are. You always were…” Huedhaut added, his voice barely audible.

___ blinked, confused at his wording.

Before she could say anything, Ichthys spoke up instead. “Hue… your wording always makes it feel like you’ve known ___ for years…”

Huedhaut flinched and looked away from them both. “Forgive me. Forget I said anything. You do not need to concern yourselves with me. Just know that I am glad that she called your name that night.”

Ichthys thought for a moment. “___, would you go wait in my bedroom? I’ll be there in a moment.”

“… Alright,” ___ somewhat reluctantly responded, before taking her leave.

Once Huedhaut and Ichthys were on their own in the living room, the atmosphere seemed far tenser. Huedhaut regarded the younger god with rather wary eyes. “You should get to your room. Surely you want to spend as much time as possible with ___ .”

“Of course,” Ichthys grumbled, “but right now I want to know what is eating at you. I have no reason to believe that you object to mine and ___’s relationship, in fact even some of your words today imply the opposite but… something is paining you…”

Huedhaut’s eyes widened and then he grimaced before looking melancholy down at the floor. “You are far more perceptive than the others ever give you credit for…”

“Are you going to tell me or do I have to focus all my pranks on you until you do?”

The god of Aquarius looked sharply back up at that. “You would not dare.”

“Oh I wooould. And you know it!” Ichthys replied, sticking his tongue out.

Huedhaut sighed heavily and sat down beside the other on the sofa. “… It seems you are determined to hear the truth. I’m glad you at least had the forethought to make ___ leave first…” slowly Huedhaut explained how ___ was actually the reincarnation of the Goddess of Fate - the goddess that he had been in love with - and the reason why he was now lacking half his stars.

“But then…” Ichthys’ voice cracked. “Hue… you should have at least told her! Why did you just let us get close together without saying a word?! She was the love of your life first and -“

“She was a different person then,” Huedhaut muttered. “And she clearly doesn’t remember me. I’d much rather her be happy than drag up a past that really has nothing to do with her. I meant what I said earlier: I’m glad she chose you that night. You were in physical danger until she came along and needed help the most out of all of us. When I saved Clotho’s soul that night I did so in the belief that there was no way I’d ever actually see her again but it was better than her soul no longer existing at all. I am content to see her happy.”

“What about you?” Ichthys protested. “Surely you deserve happiness too!”

“… All this is a situation of my own making,” Huedhaut muttered. “I do not deserve anything. It is better this way.”

Ichthys sighed heavily. “You once said I was like a younger brother to you… but… if we talked to ___ about this I’m sure she’d want to try and get to know you some more… we could both maybe let you in…”

Huedhaut’s eyes widened in surprise. “Ichthys… I… I can’t intrude on what you have. And it’s not worth risking your happiness by telling ___ about all this.”

“Then why not find someone else?”

The god of Aquarius sighed softly. “I can’t start again like that. Clotho was the only goddess for me.”

“Only goddess? How about a god then?”

Startled, Huedhaut looked sharply at the other, frowning rather. “What makes you think that is even something I’d entertain?”

“Because you did not use that as the reason for denying my offer of trying to let you in,” Ichthys replied with a laugh. “Plus you hesitated about that suggestion briefly didn’t you?”

“…” Huedhaut looked down, unable to refute what the other was saying. “… A god…”

“And I think deep down you already have someone in mind, don’t you?” Ichthys added softly. “Someone who has changed since he revealed something to all of us…”

“… Perhaps,” Huedhaut muttered, getting to his feet. “Ichthys, I…”

“Yeah?”

“… Thank you.”

Ichthys smiled brightly. “Yeah, yeah. No need to say anymore to me. I need to get back to ___ and I believe you have somewhere else to be!”

Huedhaut nodded, then managed a soft smile to himself after the other had snapped his fingers and disappeared.

Later, in the heavens, Huedhaut headed to the reflecting pool in the department of Wishes. He knocked softly on the door before entering.

Tauxolouve looked up from granting wishes. “Hue… somethin’ ya need?”

“Yes. You.”

The other dropped the list of wishes on the floor, his eyes widening. Getting over the brief shock, he forced a teasing smile onto his face and tilted his head. “Hah. That was a good one, Hue. I almost took ya seriously for a second there.”

Huedhaut sighed softly and moved over to the other. He took a deep breath before hesitantly taking Tauxolouve’s hand in his own. He averted his gaze to the floor. “I suppose I only have myself to blame that attempting to be straightforward for once backfired. Lou… this is incredibly presumptuous of me but… you have not dated any goddesses since you revealed to all of us that you are a demigod, correct?”

“… Yup, that’s true,” Tauxolouve mumbled. “If I ever had a proper relationship I’d kinda have to tell them about that an'… reactions within the departments were bad enough…”

The god of Aquarius forced himself to look up at that. “That wording suggests you would consider a proper relationship with someone who knew your past now rather than just dropping every connection after just two weeks…”

Tauxolouve bit his lip, a mix of emotions crossing his features. “Hue… I… there was somethin’ else I believed to be a problem back then. Something that no longer matters ever since I was the one guarding ___ from the Dark King.” He somewhat hesitantly reached his other hand up and placed it on Huedhaut’s shoulder. “So… when you first came in here… were you genuinely asking me out?”

“I was… but perhaps I am mistaken and you would never consider -“ Huedhaut was cut off by the other suddenly yanking him into a deep kiss.

Initially Huedhaut tensed rather - this was the first time he had let anyone get this close since that fateful night - but then he forced all that negativity away. Ichthys had been right. He knew ___ was happy and living a good life together with Ichthys. There was no reason why he could not move on himself now. Life was something to savour, as was love. Wrapping his arms around the god of Sagittarius, he responded rather desperately to the kiss.

When they pulled away from each other, neither of them really seemed sure what to say next. In the end it was Huedhaut who broke the silence.

“… Working on your own again?”

Tauxolouve was briefly startled by the change of subject, but then broke into a smile and chuckled lightly. “Oh. Yup. Aigo wandered off to find somewhere to nap and I haven’t found a good stoppin’ place to go look for him yet.”

Retrieving the list off the floor, Huedhaut stepped beside him by the pool. “Then why don’t we let him get his rest for once? I can help you with this and perhaps we can get to know each other properly. There’s no need for you to keep your distance any more.”

“… I’d like that,” Tauxolouve admitted softly. “Jus’ tell me if you’re feelin’ tired yeah? If Leo finds out the first thing I did after us gettin’ together is make you ill we’ll both be in trouble.”

Huedhaut tried to stop himself from going bright red at Tauxolouve confirming out loud that they were now dating.

Chuckling softly, Tauxolouve linked arms with him, before using his other hand to move the reflecting pool to the area for the next wish on the list.
