Sorry but I just realized Servants can have two Noble Phatasms and I was wondering if I could add this one? [Gleipnir(Noble Phantasm)--Hidden behind her bow, this Noble Phantasm appears to be like any silk ribbon. While as thin as a ribbon, however, Gleipnir is incredibly strong. Lottie uses this to control multiple darts with more precision and can be used to bind the opponent. Essentially, Gleipnir is the rope to her rope darts. ]

I've never seen Fate/Stay Night but I would like to join. Can you please explain the differences between Masters, Servants, and Magicians?

I'll try to keep this to a reasonable length, but it might take a while, so have a seat! Under the cut for length.

Magicians (technically called Magi but I really don't want to get into semantics) simply refer to people who can use magic. That's all. So if your character has any special abilities at all, they'd be considered a magician in this setting.

Masters are people who have been selected by the Grail to compete in the Grail War. They can be either magicians or regular civilians, and each of them can summon a Servant to fight for them in the War. They are the energy source of their Servant, so killing a Master will also cause the Servant to vanish.

Servants are beings that have been summoned by Masters to fight in the War. They are generally much faster, stronger, and overall just more powerful than any regular human. They are divided into 7 classes based on their powers, with each class having unique abilities (that I'm not going to go into here). Any powers they have are called Noble Phantasms, which is a fancy way of saying "strong-ass special attack".

How much do characters know about the grail war? Like do masters know how to summon their servant / rules of the war / the history of it or are they running in blind other than Kotomine's little talk? Would they effectively have the training in terms of summoning that a Magus would have had, or is it just accidental summoning?

It’s up to you, really! You can have your character go in blind, or with extensive preparations, either is fine!
