how would your first muse react to one of your current muses?

oh. my word.

i think elsa would, straight up, NOT vibe with eddie at first. he's way more anna's speed -- loud, impulsive, flair for the dramatic, everything she tends to shy away from. but eventually i think she'd come around, not just because he's severely misunderstood by the people in his community, something she's had to grapple with extensively, but also because i think they'd bond over books and other " nerd shit " really quickly :)

What made you want to start writing your favorite muse?

i love all the muses on this blog equally, but im gonna answer this question for the muse that started it all : elsa.

so frozen came out when i was in the 9th grade, and as a baby theatre kid, when i heard the original elphaba was gonna be in a disney movie, i was obsessed IMMEDIATELY. when the movie was still going to have elsa as a villain, i was really intrigued by the sister v sister angle and how their relationship could have shifted over time. but when the movie came out ? total game changer. the start of ninth grade wasn't... good for me. and in elsa, i saw myself : an older sister, struggling to figure out where she fits in a world that isn't made for people like her, someone who eventually learns to accept herself for who she is. i latched onto her immediately, and haven't stopped since. ( it should be noted that elsa was... a pretty fundamental part of my bi awakening as well, so... )

and i think that's a common thread among a lot of my muses -- a majority of the time, they're trying to find where they fit in the world. or maybe they're finding out they don't fit ! or maybe theyve been put in one box for long they need to try a new box ! but elsa started everything for me writing, and i couldn't be more grateful for that.

     “ shh !  our little secret. ”

     pike can’t help but laugh at her daughter as @lackdgnty​  ( as juniper )  shushes her.  she hasn’t even told  SCANLAN  yet,  but that’s mostly because she wants to surprise him with the announcement this time.  he’d been right there when she hadn’t been well before finding out she was pregnant with her angel of a daughter,  so there had been no chance to really go over the top.  but his birthday was coming up,  and what better thing to surprise him with than the fact that he was going to be a dad  again ?  “ that’s right,  sweetheart.  our little secret.  so you remember what that means,  right ?  when papa comes home tonight,  you have to pretend like this conversation  NEVER  happened around him until his birthday in three days,  okay ?  you can do that,  i know you can. ”  of course she can.  she’s her father’s daughter.

      it’s late,  way later than keyleth is usually up.  she’s always been a very big morning person,  so being up and around in the dead of night,  even with a party going on upstairs that she’d left early,  was kind of contrary to that.  but then @lackdgnty​ ( as vax’ildan )  had appeared suddenly out of nowhere,  and they’d started talking as keyleth ate the scone that pike had made earlier and that she had been craving since she’d seen it pulled out of the oven.  just idle chatter,  talking about what their next plans were with the conclave and how to defeat them,  scanlan’s latest escapades,  the merits of dressing trinket up for a fancy  party...

    the thing is,  keyleth is very aware of how vax feels about her.  EXTREMELY  aware.  he’d made his intentions clearly known when they were knee-deep in trying to help percy get his home back,  but she’s still not sure how to say anything back about it.  its not that she doesn’t care for him  --  she does.  she cares so deeply.  but is it the love that he has for her,  the kind of love he deserves ?  all these questions and more circle keyleth’s mind as vax takes her hand and pulls her in for a dance in the kitchen  --  slow,  really just swaying together,  but one of his hands is on her waist and their cheeks are practically pressed together,  and it’s a quiet moment with the music from the party upstairs muffled,  but still providing the score for it.

     and though she still lacks the words for it,  this feels like a definitive  MOMENT.  where she can see what a future with vax would look like.  and it is happy.  and that’s what scares her most of all.

once i was seven years old

hello friends !!  just got home from my vacation today  --  flew overnight from vancouver and didn’t sleep a WINK on the plane to try and keep some semblance of normalcy  --  so while i am here,  we’re still gonna be  low activity  while i adjust back to my usual timezone from pst !!
