Sorry for sending this twice i didn't notice there was an option specifically for sending you frogs
Another successful Toad Meetup where I flexed my latest acquisition to a crowd of jealous peers… just kidding. This little Mexican spadefoot toad [Spea multiplicata] was actually found in a parking lot in Hillsboro, New Mexico, by photographer Katie Belle Duke. Quite a rare sight for most of the year, these toads can sometimes be found hopping along roads following periods of rain.
Now it is time for the soaking of the toads. Here we see a group of Colorado river toads [Incilius alvarius] getting ready to do just that. These desert dwellers are excellent at retaining water, and will eagerly seek out water sources in order to replenish themselves. These toads were photographed in Hermosillo, Mexico, by Holly Boom.

today's funky frog of the day: the white's tree frog (Ranoidea caerulea)!!! this has been one of my absolute favourite frogs for many years- i just think they're adorable and there's so much personality in those little faces!! the white's tree frog lives in new guinea and australia, and is one of the most popular frog species kept as a pet.

Chips, American Toad, wild caught, about a year old. Just wanted to share the best video I’ve ever been able to take of her eating ^^
This is Toad the Toad, she lives in my garden. Pretty sure she’s a Fowler’s Toad. (taken in Pennsylvania, USA)
She has an addiction to sitting in pots even though we have open beds she can stay in.
You can tell is high ranking toad because this toad is wearing a crown that is also a toad.
Quite the intimidating scowl from this Mozambique rain frog [Breviceps mossambicus], a species with wide distribution throughout southern and central Africa. Though usually hidden in burrows under ground, these frogs emerge following periods of rain in order to feed and locate mates. Images by Marcus G. Meiner.

A brown pac-man frog [also known as Cranwell’s horned frog, Ceratophrys cranwelli] sits on a bed of yellow leaves for photographer Boon Lee.
Well, time to go to bed. *hides with my ass sticking out*
somehow it’s been nine years since this blog started.
sorry i’m not more involved lately; lots of life changes.
love you all
A pretty little pine toad [Incilius occidentalis] hops through the dew-laden grass of it’s home in Huiscuilco, Mexico. Images by Israel Perez.
today’s funky frog of the day is: spea hammondii! commonly known as the western spadefoot toad or hammond’s spadefoot toad, they are found in western california and northwestern baja california. they can be anywhere between 1.5 and 3 inches long. they are nocturnal, and their natural habitats include oak woodlands, grassland, shrub, and chaparral. unusually, these frogs secrete a peanut butter smell when handled, making them easier to handle than other species in their genus, but the smell may cause sneezing. adults mainly feed on grasshoppers, moths, beetles, spiders, ants, and earthworms. females can lay up to 2,000 eggs at a time, and the average lifespan for these frogs is about 12 years.
