Lovely day for a ride in the Ferris wheel.
Found some new stuff. Coming soon!
Abandoned ryokan (Japanese style hotel/inn) in Miyagi prefecture.

Former Oku-Nikkawa transformer substation (JR Senzan Line). Part of the line was one of the first sections of electric railroad in Japan to switch to AC, rather than DC. So they had to have a transformer to switch the electricity supply on the two sections of the line.
Also, a foot bridge that is all kinds of “Nope.”
Just a couple of random photos without a home.

Sometimes, Mother Nature can do in seconds what Father Time takes years to do. These photos are from the Arahama District in Sendai. (Link from the Sendai City education center.) It was a community that was right on the shore. Then came 3.11.
I want to avoid letting this blog become disaster porn, because that’s not in good taste. But the impact of riding through that area was awesome (in the original sense of the word - closer to “awful” than “cool.”)
Just old bridge towers. Old foot bridge over the Hirose River here in Sendai. Yes, I've moved, so new places to explore.

I'm not dead! Just haven't seen many places that catch my interest in forever. Also, fatherhood happened, so that makes it a bit more difficult to get out to places.
At any rate, here's some new photos. These places used to be a common sight in Japan, but the internet has killed them. These little kiosks used to be where you could go and buy nudie videos. Haven't seen one in operation in years.
Even in the Tokyo area.
