I haven’t been on this app in a while, but I know a Black man, Keith Porter, was murdered by ICE on New Year’s Eve (Rest in Power) in Cali. Just one of the countless Black people who’ve been murdered by ICE and other agents of the state.
I log back into this app and see the conversations around the white woman, Renee Good, who was just recently killed. And I can’t help but notice the stark difference in circulation of news and boosting of stories between both of them across this app…
Shit has BEEN happening to Black people across administrations and is currently happening to Black people under this administration, and is met by crickets. Yet when it starts touching white people, I see real anger start being felt from the gen pop followed by amplification and co-opting of Black terms and memorialization… I stg it takes everything in me to give af about yall.
**Edited: linking a gfm for Keith
***update: the gfm is unavailable. Will post an updated link as soon as I have one (removing the link until then for less confusion)
*** updated gfm link verified by Keith Porter Jr’s grandfather
My 43-year-old son, Keith, was tragically killed on New Year's Eve in Northri… Keith Porter needs your support for Support for Keith’s Daugh
as much as we must mourn and stand in solidarity with Renee Nicole Good, please do not forget the other victims of ice raids, who are not white.
Silverio Villegas González, a cook from mexico who was dropping his son off at daycare and was murdered
Jaime Alanis, a farmer from mexico who fell off a green house at the farm where he worked to send money to his wife and daughter
Roberto Carlos Montoya Valdez, a father and grandfather from Guatemala who was hit by a car
Josué Castro Rivera, a garden from Honduras who was struck by a car
And so many others who were killed or are dying in detention centres, prisons ect
racial bias is always something we must be aware of, Renee will be focused on because she was a white woman and a US citizen, but do not forget all the other victims of ICE, may they all rest in power
thanksgiving is a holiday based on a falsified narrative full of white guilt and the erasure of history so what are some good native organizations to donate to this coming thursday
please also consider looking into funding native/tribal food sovereignty projects if you have food to donate or money to spare. friends, please add more if you know of them and have links to provide:
native american food sovereignty alliance

you can also buy food/gifts from indigenous sellers or donate to gofundme fundraisers made by indigenous people who need help getting groceries, paying medical bills, or paying rent. do something to help us and our communities.
try water projects too, like the navajo water project: https://www.navajowaterproject.org/
Help DigDeep bring clean, running water to hundreds of American families. Nearly 40% of Navajo don't have a tap or toilet at home. We can fi
a lot of reservations are fucked over on water by illegal oil drilling, pipelines, or other breaches, like in the navajo rez’s case: contaminated by illegal uranium mining.
I would like to put my endorsement to the Sovereign Bodies Institute, home of the database of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The database is trans-inclusive, the data protocols follow the desires of the families of MMIW, and this holiday season, they are collecting donations to buy gifts for the families, especially the children, of missing and murdered women.
I’d like to add Feeding Nunavut, the cost of living in the isolated north for Inuit is up to and sometimes over 5x the prices the rest of Canada is used to.

July 7 is my friend Charlotte’s birthday. She is 10 years older than me. I think about how my life could have been a lot like hers if I simply hadn’t been lucky. Lucky enough to have supportive parents when I came out. Lucky enough not to be abused. She was kicked out of her home when she was 16 for being trans and had to try to survive on her own ever since. She went to college for biochemistry but doesn't have a degree because she can’t pay off her debts. She loves her dog Priscilla more than anything, and in the 5 years I’ve known her she has always wanted to help others in need, even when she had absolutely nothing herself. Most times her kindness and trust has been repaid with violence and cruelty, and she is living with the physical and mental damage of decades of ongoing abuse and neglect. She is sick with cancer and diabetes, and has scars all over her body from being attacked by bigots. She has lost over half her body weight since I first met her, and recently she has started passing out without warning. She needs the time and space to heal and get proper support but she can’t do that without help. She has rented a room from some people for one month, but if we can’t get more funds she will be back on the street. She can’t work and needs money to eat and pay for sanitary supplies and to begin to furnish her bare bones room. This year on her birthday, please help a trans woman survive and not feel alone.
She just got out of the hospital after fainting outside! She has a skin infection and a broken foot. She has been unable to eat and she is stranded far away from her apartment. She is stuck in the rain with her dog- please help!! $60 can get her a lyft and food at least!
You should get prepared now, because it's going to be one of those summers. Now would be a good time to look up the tactics/info/experience from the George Floyd rebellion. [link]

Some of you may know that I was recently in Palestine.
While there, my resolve to do everything in my power to help only strengthened, and I came back wanting to check in on a few of the campaigns I had adopted. To my disappointment, a couple of them were frozen or reported, even though they had been tirelessly vetted and verified.
The worst part is that there are talks of a temporary ceasefire happening again, with the Rafah border crossing opening once more, and my friend Fidaa fears that after all of the hard work, she might not be able to get her two young children (a toddler and a baby) out. She is their sole provider right now.
So we have set up a temporary fundraiser for her on Chuffed, while we work to get her funds unsuspended (if we can). We have to act fast. Please know that two things are true: giving even a very small amount helps, and if you are unable to right now, spreading this campaign and getting more eyes on it helps.
The goal is $15,000 USD. We're starting this off at $285. Please help me get eyes on this.

You can also donate through Paypal directly. This would provide immediate access as well.
This campaign has been vetted here and here. I appreciate anyone who gives or helps this campaign get seen.
