An old art piece I did a while back based on a particular song by @nicoledollanganger It may not be a complete one, but I wonder if she can figure out which song. No, it's not the song playing. Girl, your work may be dark; but it's raw, poetic, emotional, and beautiful. There's many songs I find myself having an emotional reaction to. Mostly crying, especially during your song "Ugly." That one is a very special song... everyone should definitely give that song the attention it deserves - definitely don't want that one to be a forgotten song. Helped me during hard times. "Finger Out My Throat" Wanted to share some old therapeutic based art for myself from last winter. I feel it might be important while doing this series to every now and again to post some of my traditional pieces. I felt suffocated and was in a deep well when I drew this. "Snuffed Out, Like The Candle I Am" @get_starryai Song - To Zanarkand, Final Fantasy X (great game with great lessons) Made this so long ago it feels now. When I was getting the feel of the style I wanted. Still fits, just much more bleak. Wrote that out when I was feeling down. Somedays, we just get so tired... no pun intended but we more often find ourselves on our last wick... sometimes when we open up about these painful feelings or bad days... if shared with the wrong person, those can be dismissed... Snuffed out... mattered as little as a candle burning brightly that gets put out. Make room for darkness little light. There had been many times in my life where people either treated me poorly and I've gotten angry or gotten angry seeing someone be unfairly judged or harassed. I would get so angry that my head would go to the though of "seeing how they'd like that" or "how would they feel if it were them on the other end". That never gets us anywhere. Never has never will. What gets us further in life and relationships is not control or revenge, it's love and patience. Love one another, love your neighbor Remember always to be kind, even when you're hurting. "She Knows No Boundaries Or Respect" This was a piece that focused a lot on the qualities I would hate to see in myself. If I were to be a person with a lack of boundaries and respect; frankly I would view myself to be like that of a monster. Selfblinding to boot, with her eyes closed in denial. The delicate balance between the person you fear of being and the person you want to be, can ever so easily shift. Happens as soon as we begin to think we know everything. The ugly side of ourselves is something not to be proud of, but should not be something we hide from. Because it is that reminder of what kind of person not to be that makes us better people. Where did you learn your lessons from? An adult or peer? Through a childhood show, movie, or song? A board game or video game? What influenced you to be the person you are today? "Happiness Is Alive In The Spirit Of Children" Though the tone may seem dark I think it's very fitting given the title. For many of us adults it can be a terrifying thing for us to recognize and understand we're past an age of blaming. We come to a realization that we must behave like our parents to ourselves mainly. We must behave like the parents we wish to be for our own children. We must behave like what we needed from our parents for both ourselves and our kids. It doesn't make us bad or weak to admit that maybe we don't understand why our parents did/ done what they did/ done. Everything they've done or did was always ever in thought of our growth and happiness. The best way your parent(s) can/ could. Until we grow past that, and the angry that comes with being mad at ourselves for not listening... we loose that childlike happiness... from what I can see we can even forget it. We find it again when we admit we were wrong and allow ourselves to grow as people gain. People really are (in a bizarre way) like plants... we are always growing and changing, just like them.
