Well there’s quite a few ways. If you let people talk enough, they will eventually tell on themselves, even in small ways.
For starters, many men like women who are an extension of themselves. Like the Amy Dunn thing in gone girl. If he likes football and bars, his dream girl loves beer and hot wings. If he likes tattoos, weed and art, his dream girl loves lo-fi hip-hop and Tarantino films. If he is very active, offers you exercise classes, goes on hikes, likes sports, his dream girl will definitely be small, fit, happy (the endorphins you get from exercise should keep her perky) and casual but still able to dress up. You get the point. Men want their dream girl to be similar to them and to fit into their lifestyle.
But sometimes men don’t show obvious cues about themselves or the way they present themselves isn’t what they want from their female counterparts, so you have to listen to the small things.
I’ll give an example from my life: I went out to eat with a former rock band member. Most would assume that my best bet would be to go for the grunge-glam look, something dark and sexy, but I didn’t. He’d seen me in tons of looks before, but that particular night I had box braids tied up in a high ponytail with a pink bow on it. He looked at the bow and said “cute” but wasn’t as thrilled about the added braiding hair on my head. One time I wore ripped jeans and he didn’t seem to like them. Whenever I wore my natural curls or just straightened my hair he always raved on and on about it. I figured out that he likes real hair and sweet girls. He mentioned a few other girls from his past but described some of them as toxic. From this I deduced that he is definitely over the girls that a band member typically attracts. I turned up the cuteness, made sure to be the classic “good girl” archetype when we went out and within a few weeks he told me that he loves me.
Pay attention to the little things he points out and think about what men associate those things with:
If a man compliments your heels, he probably loves girls who dress up all the time. His dream girl is glamorous and womanly. Someone nice to show off and pleasant to be around. Some things that men associate with heels: red lips, flattering dresses, and long curly hair. Don’t show up looking casual or moderately dressed. Stay on top of your looks and he will probably even want to pay for it himself.
Another thing to keep in mind: men’s sexual interests do not always correlate with their dating interests. So seeing who he likes and follows on ig may not help you. It may only get you into his bed. You might learn how to catch his sexual attention (which is still important and should be used) but dream girls are long term things. What kind of women does he praise when you two watch movies and discuss the people in your lives? Does he say negative things about his female coworkers? Bc if so, he may respect them but he is obviously not into corporate women. His dream girl will be someone that he will be able to have a clear separation of work and home with and he will not want to build a business with you lol.
