let people have dolls you cowards
Are there any BJD collectors still active on this site? Most posts I come across are from 2015-2016 :/
Iâve loved them for years but never had any and recently had my interest sparked again by Blythe and Pullip dolls and I just wondered if anyone is left around here.
Recasts are not the only thing harming this hobby. The bjd world is oversaturated with dolls and companies. For example Iplehouse dolls are high quality, but their failing sales can also be attributed to other legit doll companies that sale a similar quality doll at a cheaper price.
~Anonymous
Oh nice, so IpleHouse has announced that theyâre in trouble because of recasters stealing some of their profits (I think 25%?). Keep killing the hobby, recasters.Â
~Anonymous    Â
this again? are y'all ever going to understand that there are MANY reasons for falling sales? no, of course not, you're going to keep blaming everything on recasts because that's easier than critical thinking đ
buying recasts is dumb you can totally find legits that are cheaper
Iâm against recast but we need to stop using recast as an excuse to everything that happens in the community. Soom dolls get recasted absurdly quick yet they still manage to sold out even expensive items (like that 2k doll set) and even release new dolls and items all the time yet iplehouse wants to blame recasts for their poor business and lack of new products. Please.
~Anonymous
basically.
Iâve searched for the proof counterfeiters are being âbulliedâ. I have scoured pages of tagged recasts on insta and have yet to see a single nasty comment. You say itâs right there is front of our faces, itâs not because your lying, when thatâs pointed out you suddenly jump to the defense. If you have it Show proof of the bullying.
~Anonymous
I don't believe you did look for proof, and even if you did, I don't believe that you actually didn't find any. where's the proof that you looked? :)
Foxy adventures continue!
There seems to be no end. XD
You can dismiss me because by posting this Iâm admitting I buy recasts and I know for the anti community that immediately makes me less of a person. But truthfully? As someone who buys both recast and legit, the recast secondhand market is so much better. Iâm talking about friendly people who care so deeply who pack SO well and who are just all around more engaged. Might just be my experiences but I think legit sellers could learn a lot from recast owners in this area.
~Anonymous
Morals and all that aside, buying a recast really doesnât sound like itâs worth the hassle. If people know that theyâre recasts, you canât post them anywhere or make any friends in the hobby. You canât join groups because youâll just get banned. Getting any custom work done would be almost impossible because no one will work on recasts. And if you try to pass them off as legit, itâs likely that people will figure it out and youâll be known as a liar / coward on top of everything else.
~Anonymous
you can absolutely find a faceup artist on a recast friendly forum, and a lot of recasters do faceups that are pretty decent quality so it's not like you're automatically doomed to have a blank doll. the rest is only true because antis can't deal with the idea that not everyone thinks like them.
I saw a confession about ârecast supportersâ and 'doaâ (Iâm the new 17 y/o anon whoâs intimidated by the community btw) and I have two questions if anyone would like to answer. 1) What does doa stand for? 2) Whatâs wrong with recast supporters? Whatâs a recast?
~Anonymous
recasts are copies of dolls and can be completely indistinguishable from a "legit" doll, depending on who made the recast. A lot of people claim this is theft (even if it's a recast of a discontinued doll, or if its in a color that wasn't available originally) and they'll openly berate anyone who disagrees. I have lots of posts on my blog in favor of recasts, if you're interested in a level-headed case in favor of them. :) someone mentioned that recasts are banned on doa, which is true, but there are other forums where they are welcome and where people have just as much customizing knowledge, etc..
April Story closes sales, Souldoll discontinuing lot of dolls and custom services, bjd artists having trouble selling their latests creations⊠Yeah, just sad coincidences. No, counterfeits products advertised everywhere and sold for a handful of US dollars are not to blame. Absolutely not.
~Anonymous
Market Saturation is a real thing. Literally all over the world, news stories are talking about how people have less spending money bc of failing economies. I know y'all just want to beat ur breasts and wail about this bogeyman, but Recasts are not it. Even before recasting was so popular, companies retired dolls and services for a VARIETY of reasons. /brick wall rant

What is the best way to deal with hot weather? Summer themed doll photos, of course. Margaret enjoyed her makeshift pool ;)
