There is no other Fighting Game Developer like 8ing
playing the HxH Nen Impact Demo, I've had a lovely time going to training mode, practicing a combo for 5 minutes, about once an hour for the last day. When you look at the character's movelists, you can tell they were made by people who genuinely want to make a mid level player's mind explode with possibilities. It feels like it was made by people who loved what their previous games like TVC and MVC3, and want to share that love to the modern generation of fighting game players; simple inputs, autocombos and magic series makes the game easy to pick up for anyone who wants to mash and have a good time, but as soon as they want to go into the deep end of combo crafting, the hitstun 'bar' is a very clever way of showing the way hitstun deterioration works to someone who doesn't know, and the OTG indicator is great to understand how certain pick ups work. The training mode isn't perfect (not nearly as good as SF6's), but it's enough to get someone to think deeper about the game.
How do you make a primary gameplay loop for a game with like 40 people doing different things
do you have to like, chart all the interactions and predict a flow of how people will communicate/coordinate?
does one then hypothetically have to predict stages of the game to make secondary and tertiary loops which are more universal?
most of these questions are rhetorical because they help me think
Solo Kazali Script
How has no one in the history of mankind ever thought to make a script where the only demon is Kazali? Are we stupid?
also I think it could work pretty easily as a more social heavy game
Do you ever decide to make a blog because you have no idea where to put your thoughts
And you realise that you can't just keep writing things down in your friend's discord because you'll fill up the channels with random thoughts?
