Mention: The one where Darren Green and I ran a Climate Crisis Megagame for the Playful Learning Conference.
How do you make a primary gameplay loop for a game with like 40 people doing different things
do you have to like, chart all the interactions and predict a flow of how people will communicate/coordinate?
does one then hypothetically have to predict stages of the game to make secondary and tertiary loops which are more universal?
most of these questions are rhetorical because they help me think
I disagree.

Hidden Dragon Legend Review
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Taking Place in Imperial China, this game is an action packed 2.5D side scrolling hack and slash banger!
Throw me back to the side scrolling games of the past and recreate the graphics into a visual masterpiece and bobs your uncle, Hidden Dragon Legend. The premise is quite exciting, fight through enemies to get control over an enchanted object called the Dragon Cauldron. The Cauldron has the power to give special abilities to any human who has the Cauldron, there is a down side though, and it will deteriorate your mind and your reason. You are trying to find out if what you believe is true, which is that one of the factions have put you under their “spell” using the Cauldron to do their dirty work.
The visuals in this game are simply amazing, the attention to detail around the Imperial China environment is insane. You might be thinking “Yeah Dennis, because you know exactly what Imperial China looked like”, well hit ‘The Goog’ and check it out for yourself, incredible likeness! You often encounter fighting in, on and around temples, cliffs and dojos and this experience is just awesome. The impact animations were slightly glitch in my experience, with some even landing with no sound effect. However, the colours used to visualize the “spell” you have on you in your movements are, to put it in my girlfriend’s works “quite pretty”. This is one of the best animated arcade side scrollers I have seen for a while.
This game definitely makes for easy gameplay! With all the hacking and slashing, you need to throw together some serious combos, and the smooth controls definitely help with this. As mentioned earlier, I had issues with the sounds during combat but what I lost there, I gained in the epic gameplay that comes with combatting multiple enemies at once. The hack and slash sessions are outstanding, they really tried hard in creating a smooth combat scenes which is aided by the simple controls.
Overall, the game is a great experience and I would even say that it is as engaging as the classic side scroller “Abe’s Odyssey”, with more hacking and slashing and with equal amounts of puzzles and strategy. Price is essential when buying Indie Games, this game comes in at R269.00 (PS Store), which in my opinion is defiantly worth it! This game kept me engaged and wanting more, wondering where it is going and hoping it won’t end. Go out and get this game!

Mega Games Collection: Part I
Mega Games Collection: Part I
Upon inception in 1988, the Mega Drive (or Genesis in the US) had a somewhat muted response. While the graphical prowess was certainly a huge improvement over its predecessor, the Master System, Nintendo still attained a vice-like grip over the market with its third-party exclusivity (which bullied developers to make games specifically for Nintendo systems) and iconic gaming brands. In fact,…
