sometimes a loss in this dunya is a win in the akhirah.

losses. something you left for the sake of Allāh, something the world called a gain but was displeasing to Allāh, the sacrifices your imaan compelled you to make.. and sometimes there are plans, opportunities, dreams that slipped through your hands right when it was starting to feel like yours — remember that Allah doesn't waste a believer's loss.

every tear, every disappointment, every door that closed on you is either erasing a sin, raising a rank, or protecting you from something you couldn't see. what looks like loss here might be the very thing that's heavy on your scale there.

so grieve if you need to. but don't grieve like someone who's lost everything. you haven't. you've just been given a trade you'll only understand later.

"and give good tidings to the patient" — [2:155]

On the Day of Resurrection the disbeliever who lived the most luxurious will be brought, and it will be said: "Dip him once in hell."

So he will be dipped in it, then it will be said to him: "O so-and-so, have you ever enjoyed any pleasure?"

He will say: "No, I have never enjoyed any pleasure."

Then the believer who suffered the most hardships and trouble will be brought and it will be said: "Dip him once in Paradise."

So he will be dipped in it and it will be said to him: "O so-and-so, have you ever suffered any hardships or trouble?"

He will say: "I have never suffered any hardship or trouble."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ :

"Have Taqwa of Allah wherever you are, and follow an evil deed with a good one to wipe it out, and treat the people with good behavior."

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever wishes to know what Allāh has prepared for him, then he should look at what he has prepared for Allāh."

Shaykh Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"From the Mercy of Allāh Ta’ala with His worshippers is that He troubles them with the Dunya and its worries and annoyance so that they do not become relaxed with it, and do not become tranquil with the Dunya, but in fact,  they should desire for the eternal bliss in Allāh's land of Paradise and next to Him.

Allāh leads them to it with the whip of trials and tests.

He prevents them from the Dunya so He can give them the reward in the Hereafter.

He trials them so that he can give them relief, He causes them to die to resurrect them."

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“A person does not stop committing a sin until it becomes easy upon him and it becomes insignificant in his heart, And THAT is a SIGN OF DESTRUCTION.”

On the authority of Anas in a narration ascribed to the Prophet [ﷺ]:

There is no slave of Allāh who goes to visit his brother for the sake of Allāh, except that a voice calls out from the sky, ‘You have been good so Paradise has been made pleasurable for you.’ Also Allāh says in His Dominion of the ‘Arsh: ‘He is My slave and was visiting for My sake, so his hospitality is upon Me and I am not pleased with any hospitality other than Paradise.’

Allāh سبحانه وتعالى says in Qur’ān,

“And whoever has Taqwa of Allāh, He will make a way out for them, and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything.”

[65:2-3]

What more reassurance do we need when Allāh Himself has promised this to us? What is left for us to worry about? No hardship is too heavy, no burden too overwhelming when we trust in Allāh’s perfect plan.

So, if you are struggling, know that relief is near. If you feel stuck, remember that Allāh’s promise never fails. Hold onto your Taqwa, strengthen your trust, and let your heart find peace in the assurance that Allāh's decree is always better than your desires.

May Allāh grant us steadfastness, strengthen our Taqwa, and provide us relief from every difficulty, ameen 💌

Do you ever just pause and feel your heart overflow with emotion, realizing how much Allāh has blessed you, even when you didn’t deserve it?

Alhamdulillāh for the rizq He gives, even when we disobey.

Alhamdulillāh for the oxygen we breathe without even thinking.

Alhamdulillāh for the health we often take for granted.

Sit quietly for some time and count your blessings. You're drenched in His mercy — His blessings and your answered prayers surrounding you from all sides.

Sometimes, the weight of His mercy just leaves you speechless.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ 💌

The Days of Dhul Hijjah: The Days of the Truthful

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the days of the ṣādiqūn: the truthful servants of Allah Subhanhu wa ta’ala. These are days in which deeds are more beloved to Allah Subhanhu wa ta’ala than at any other time, even surpassing the virtues of worship in Ramaḍān in certain aspects.

Yet many people neglect them. Why? Because fasting in these days is not obligatory like Ramad‌ān, and the devils are not chained. There is less external pressure, less communal momentum, and fewer reminders.

But this is precisely why these days reveal sincerity.

These blessed days belong to those who worship Allah out of love, longing, and truthfulness, not merely obligation. They are the days of those who busy themselves with prayer, fasting, dhikr, Qur’an, charity, repentance, and sincere du‘ā’, pleading to their Lord with humility and hope.

The servants who seize these days are not driven by routine, but by hearts that truly desire Allah.

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said,

Whoever cannot afford a slaughter then let him slaughter his own lusts and desires.
