edeneyed:
there was ( in the back of his mind ) the thought that, genuinely, this was a waste of time; the voice of many a teacher in his youth speaking of the useless nature of such action, malik’s bitter claims still a rash on his mind. this did not stop the assassin from scoffing at the other — shoulders back & chin raised in arrogance. ❝ of course, that’s easy. ❞ amber turned to size up his options ( the tree, perhaps ) before running at it, using the trunk as a springboard. tucking in for a neat double roll before lightly landing on his feet. altaïr turning back with an overexaggerated bow. ❝ like that ? ❞
This was considered a waste of time to him? Hilda was having the time of her life watching this man showing off in front of her – it’s not like she had much of anything else to keep her preoccupied these days. Her eyes watched as Altaïr effortlessly completed another trick.
❝ Yes, that was it exactly! That was amazing! ❞
Once again, she clapped her hands in delight. From anyone else, it would’ve seemed like these compliments were insincere, but Hilda was always sincere in what she said. After all, people needed to feel appreciated and motivated to continue!
❝ So, what else can you do? ❞
