Finally! The week is through! Looking for something dumb to do. What say you?
"Letdown." Myrcella & Robb
Robb tilted his head thoughtfully in her direction, noticing that she had been personally hurt by it and Robb could not ignore the fact that he knew his siblings were, as well. āI admire your honesty, Myrcella," he uncrossed his arms and rested one of his elbows against the railing he leaned against, āand I canāt say that IĀ disagree. It is an unfair position our families have put Sansa in, but we just have to believe that itās⦠Well, we have to accept that we have absolutely no power over it, for one and for another, that our fathers are great men. I donāt know about your dad, but mine shows me that everydayāheās very honorable. I trust him and I have to trust that whatever is happening, that my father knows no matter what that it will end well and not just for Sansa, but for both of our families."
And that was true. If Robb held anyone in the highest regard, it was Eddard Stark. He didnāt know Robert Baratheon, but he had always imagined⦠well, from the stories, he had always imagined him to look somewhat like the storybook kind of hero. He didnāt turn out to be anything what Robb had envisioned him like; he was fat and revolting, really, though he would never say that to Myrcella. She probably loved him and honored him just like Robb did his father and that was that⦠but Robb wasnāt so sure if there was anything to really be proud of as far as Robert Baratheon of the 21st century went. The greater plan bullshit he had just spouted, even Robb had a hard time swallowing but if he couldnāt trust in Robert Baratheonās judgement, he could trust in his own fatherās.
"Heās an ass," Robb agreed, laughing, ābut as much as I donāt like it, thereās just nothing either of us can really do about that except pray that maybe he has a sudden epiphany that turns him into the next great Baratheon of our time."
Ā Cersei Lannister and Catelyn Stark in a physical altercation. Get the boxing gloves, the camera, and the popcorn. Robb was going to arrange it personally. āMy mother hasnāt been a trout since I was in her bellyāCatelyn Stark is a she-wolf through and through. I think thatād prove to be worth broadcasting it on cable television," He gave her a toothy grin, a slight twinkle of mischief in his eye, āBut if our houses are to be joined, letās hope the lion and the wolf can remain, if not harmonious, then at least amiable."Ā
Myrcella blushed, not meeting his eyes that were surely on her. She could hardly be proud of what she said. Her grandfather had once said, "Don't allow the fire from within to leave and don't bring in fire from outside," which was a roundabout way of saying family business stays in the family and outside drama should stay just that: outside. "Sansa's a sweet person. And kind too. Perhaps she will be just what Joffrey needs to mend his ways." It was a fool's hope but Myrcella would be happy to be the fool if it would allow sweet Sansa a chance at happiness.Ā
Myrcella tried to envision Robb as a young boy and smiled at the image her mind created. He must have been adorable as a boy. Spoiled too, but she refrained from saying so. "You're right. A she-wolf is not something that should be taken lightly, perhaps I should go warn my mother." She knew that her mother would be too prideful to let something like someone slighting her off as a lapse of judgement. Myrcella wouldn't be surprised if she jumped in to fight on her brother's behalf. And Joffrey would probably be enough of a coward to not say anything. "But it is as you say, amiable is what we should strive towards. There is nothing quite as destructive as a rift in a family. Especially one as young as your sister's and my brother's."
