The Roulette fanfiction category for next term will be: Best Platonic - Where two or more characters share a close bond but do not have a sexual relationship. They may even feel love for each other. These platonic relationships are often marked by closeness, honesty, acceptance, and understanding. The lack of a sexual relationship characterizes this connection, but doesn't necessarily mean the characters aren't attracted to each other or could not start to feel attracted to one another.

The Roulette fanart category for next term will be: Best Rare Pair Artwork - Any romantic or platonic depiction of two or more of the characters of Fairy Tail, that have 400 tags or less on AO3. Can be canon universe, AU/AR, or crossover in nature.

As this term comes to a close, The Guild Awards will be taking a short hiatus. This time is always spent reviewing the process and seeing what can be revamped for the next term. We also love hearing from the fandom (ie: YOU!) for suggestions regarding any changes or additions.

We will officially be back in full swing on March 1st! We will still be around in case you have questions or concerns, but please take this time to read new fanfiction and find new fanart.

Stealing Their Clothes

MASTERLIST RULES

Natsu:

- okay he's confused at first because now you don't smell right - and he can't tell if that's a good or bad thing because he loves your usual smell - so he can't find you as easily anymore - but he can't deny it looks good on you - however is the person to also try and steal your clothes back

Gray:

- it only makes sense - if he leaves his clothes all over the place he can't then get mad that you're stealing them - it started after you just got fed up picking them up all the time - so now they belong to you - he should be more angry but he knows he just doesn't wear them anyway

Laxus:

- oh he kinda loves it - it just ties into how he is so seeing him on you - but it's only a kinda loves it because he will just buy you loads of clothes and you still prefer his over anything else - to overcome this, expect matching things

Gajeel:

- actually it's impressive that you managed to find stuff to steal - so you gotta improvise sometimes - steal his white hat he wears, steal those feathers he defo used to pin on to his clothes - but then you just start stealing his usual trousers and he's like only kinda mad because then what does he wear? - but his clothes look good on you, especially when you're sleepy

Bickslow:

- hypeman - but then ends up stealing your clothes too - hoodies? his - underwear? this man would steal yours no shame - modern au takes photos of you in his clothes and probably posts them to his stories captioned 'adam sandler core' and it's the most unflattering photo of you ever

Freed:

- he doesn't understand it - he just really doesn't - he knows you own clothes - he's seen you wear them - questions at first if your clothes need washing, or if you need to go shopping any more - realises eventually its some sort of affection especially if you explain why its comforting - is the type to make sure freshly washed clothing smells of him before handing it over to you

At Christmas

MASTERLIST RULES

Natsu:

- starts eating when he wakes up - stops when he passes out - leaves all of his gift making until the last minute - he's heavy on making gifts and not just buying them - literally horrendous at wrapping but he still does it anyway - actually loves how close it makes everyone - like he will cherish this time of year because of the close aspect of it

Gray:

- hates the consumerism side of it and only goes for gifts he thinks are practical - frowns when people put those paper crowns on his head but is only like that surface level - he prefers quieter days with people he's really close with - that's what makes it more meaningful for him - he probably falls asleep somewhere and claims he's just resting his eyes - he gives off that energy

Laxus:

- has to make sure that the decorations are perfect - like they need to be organised and not a messed up bundle of glowing lights - it might be a flex for him to get ridiculously expensive things but he doesn't expect the same in return - has like one or two drinks in the morning to get in the spirit of things and then somehow he's gone by the evening - and getting sappy

Gajeel:

- chefjeel hello - he returns - gajeel is the one doing most of the cooking and the one roping in some trusty people to help - he's the one screaming at natsu for complaining he's hungry - he will only truly care about getting gifts for a few people - but he's also keeping it hidden how much he likes being involved with people

Bickslow:

- he gets mostly joke gifts every single year for people - it's horrific - the worst christmas jumpers ever - the worst jokes ever - it's mostly all done because he knows people can't escape him - the dolls get tiny christmas hats

Freed:

- he's not the only one but he does want christmas to go by a schedule - dinner is meant to be a specific time and he's trying to figure out why it isn't ready yet - meanwhile gajeel is trying to employ natsu to use some fire to cook something he completely forgot about - freed loves quiet christmases and unfortunately he got this one - he's very careful about choosing gifts to suit people and mostly is bang on

Lucy:

- absolutely loves the time of year - is the type to go out to christmas markets for the hot chocolate - wraps all of her presents super neatly with bows and perfect corners - picks out her christmas day outfit well in advance - but will also yell at someone for ruining a perfectly good group photo - she's trying to be organised, but it just goes out the window in the first hour

Cana:

- starts drinking when she wakes up - stops drinking when she passes out - a bit like day to day life - she's the one influencing people to do shots at 9am - she might whip out the cards to keep people entertained and do a few readings - but mostly she's there for acceptable day drinking - the food is the least of her concerns

Levy:

- is one of the ones roped in to help cook food - but is very bad at it - levy also tries to help organise the day but it just goes out the window - she gets gifted so many books that she just tucks herself away in a corner to read

Erza:

- erza is the one carving the turkey because no one else can be trusted - she also made sure to get her own dessert just for herself - actually super sweet when receiving gifts because half the time she just didn't expect it - is also the one to go super over the top with gifts but they're super badly wrapped

Mira:

- in the sweetest christmas jumper - is the one to plan to keep it together and actually keep it together - mostly from her days of wrangling siblings and everyone else but she knows how to navigate a christmas day and is usually the one to direct what should be happening when - and to avoid meltdowns - really into charades for some reason as an after dinner game

Juvia:

- she's the type to finish her christmas shopping and realise that a pile of gifts for one person is 10x larger than what she has for everyone else combined - but she's also super sweet with her gifts and putting a lot of time and effort into either making them herself or having them customised - she just wants to be cute someone let her be cute - is also one of the ones roped in to help cook and actually does an okay job

Evergreen:

- vodka aunt - sits in a chair all day looking effortlessly gorgeous and just sipping at something particularly strong - immune to bickslow's antics - offering backseat advice on how to decorate because of course she's going to act like she knows best - stuttering in her act when someone actually gets her something that's perfect for her

Guys, don't ask me how, but suddenly I started thinking and came up with this idea about our wizards' parents and their pasts.

So, Silver was a craftsman and had a workshop that Mika helped manage, taking care of the accounting.

Natsu and Zeref's father was an explorer.

Gajeel's father was a mechanic.

Laxus' mother worked in a music store.

The Strauss siblings' parents owned a restaurant.

Levy's father was a magical researcher who collaborated with Fairy Tail. Her mother was a history professor.

Cornelia worked in a wine shop.

Gildarts' parents were members of Fairy Tail.

Evergreen's father was an eye magician. Her mother was a sculptor.

Then I'll think about the others too.

I even have names. Things that happen in my head suddenly.

Sharing A Bed With Them For The First Time

MASTERLIST RULES

Natsu:

- super chill at first then he clocks what it actually means - and it probably happens first time like a forced proximity sort of thing because otherwise he just probably wouldn't make that move (i see u slowburn nalu) - but he's super warm all the time - and instinctively curls around you in his sleep - so when he actually wakes up and finds how you're both asleep it's like 'ah this could mean something' - never ashamed of it or sees anything wrong with it, and in fact just wants to do it again

Gray:

- it happens because it seems like the next logical step in your relationship with him - and it is - it doesn't stop it from being filled with tension - this would be him being insanely vulnerable around you - he is so not a sleep cuddler but one part of him will be touching you in the night - gray will wake up first and stare at the ceiling for a good hour until actually starting the day and it's mostly because how it wasn't awkward just unsure

Laxus:

- it just happens - it's logical, it makes sense, there's a bed - this is him just doing what he wants to at this point and he's touch starved - so there is cuddling involved - not that he would ever admit it - it's soft but also protective and its very easy for you to sleep that night - him, not so much

Gajeel:

- he falls asleep first somewhere - and you don't see him waking up any time soon - so you just fall asleep with him because when he sleeps, he sleeps like a rock - you fall asleep somewhere close-by and during sleeping you end up tucked into his side - when he wakes up he's absolutely not mad about it, but a little embarrassed it happened - not because of you but because of him

Bickslow:

- it's insanely easy - like one minute just laughing and joking and next you're in bed - he made you laugh your way into bed - but then super casual about hand placement and close proximity - once you do fall asleep then he lets himself go quiet for a moment just looking at you

Freed:

he's actually so nervous bless him he only suggests it because it's logical but you both know exactly what this means he tries to remain like how he usually would in his bedtime routine, but it's harder to do that in the ass-end of nowhere with only one bed to share so it's quiet at first until you both settle and talk about things - random things, like maybe space or the universe, or magic techniques it's all in those hushed, quiet voices, where you're not hiding from anyone but the location just makes it seem like you have to whisper and that's until one of you falls asleep

One thing I find curious about Gajeel is that while, yes, him eating iron due to the fact that all dragon slayers eat their element, Gajeel, in particular, is stated to dislike being hungry and will just sit on trash piles at eat the metal. This makes me wonder if Gajeel was a street kid who didn't have access to food regularly and would dig through the trash looking for some until Metalicana found him?

(Also I like the idea of Metalicana finding Gajeel in the trash like a stray cat)

Gajeel being a street kid is my personal headcanon and there are hints that he was one (makes sense since he was an orphan). The Rhodonite spin-off may probably not be canon, but he was also portrayed as a street urchin in that one, so it's canon in my heart okay
