Success in WOODEN ROSE GRAMS (behind the scenes)— For Valentine's Day, our chapter decided to sell Wooden Rose Grams, and as you can see, here are your lovely officers arranging and decorating them. We sold 1,000+ roses overall, receiving a hard-earned profit which will go towards our State Conference.

Special thanks to two regular members, Joshua Monforte and Christine Stewart, for coming out to help us prepare the grams! You guys are amazing!

FBLA Advisor Day (behind the scenes)— On this day, our FBLA officers surprised Mr. Marquez with a brand new travel mug, a poster, and a sweet little framed picture of us. We love you Mr. Marquez!

Independence Campus Clean Up— Another go-green project was this trash pick-up day! A few of our members were able to attend, where we collaborated with huge clubs- Interact, Key, and CSF, to beautify our campus. We found various debris such as glass, leftover food...etc. We successfully made our campus a much cleaner, and safer place! Volunteers were also given water and snacks after the event!

Tree Nursing Workshop— As another event for our "FBLA goes green" chapter project, we collaborated with the CSF club of Independence High to help out Our City Forest.

We performed various jobs such as weed pulling, transferring/carrying trees, potting trees, and even as far as digging trenches! We potted up 40 trees in total, and these trees will be donated and planted around the neighborhood of San Jose. This was some great bonding time for our members, and as well as exercise! We are very thankful for our hardworking members, they received treats at our next meeting for their voluntary help :)

Oxfam Go-Green Workshop— Our Social/Marketing Co-Chairs and Public Relations Officer organized a presentation for the Oxfam club of Independence High. As part of our "FBLA goes green" chapter project, we introduced the numerous ways of going green, and the energy that could be saved from simple actions.

Officer Ignition Ceremony— Our chapter conducted a ceremony for our newest officers: Thuy Ly (Secretary), Tran Lam (Public Relations Officer), Ryan Dang (Parliamentarian), Christine Ving (Special Projects Officer), Jeet Desai and Tristen Solis (Social Marketing co-chairs). The new officers "vowed" to fufill their duties and responsibilities in front of the old officers, and FBLA members.

Thanksgiving Social-- Our Public Relations Officer planned a potluck at our President's house for our fellow members! We bonded by baking goods, cooking meals, watching movies, and playing games! Over 10 members attended this social, and they were able to bring guests :)

2012 LDI North– Leadership Development Institute Conference! Including Chapters from: Bay, Central, and Northern Sections At the Marriott Hotel, Santa Clara, California.

Many of our FBLA members were able to attend this conference, where we had workshops, bonding, plenty of leisure time, dinner, lunch, and a kickin' dance!

DAY ONE: (7-8AM) Members arrived and checked into their hotel rooms, where they received the “FBLA CALIFORNIA” folder along the conference schedule, and other documents. The rooms were separated by gender. Ladies and gals were able to pick the roommates of their choice! (9-10am) Members and officers were separated into individual workshops. Members handpicked their own morning workshops– such as "Talk the Talk," where you learn how to talk like a boss! (10-11am) LDI Opening Session! Zain Ali– Lead Designer at Sincerely, Inc received the chance to introduce the conference along with the FBLA California State Officers! (11am-9pm) Members attended 6 workshops of their choice– where they built leadership and career skills, but most importantly, met new FBLA members from other chapters! We also decided to eat with our chapter for lunch and dinner (3+ hours of free time!!!!) (9pm-11pm) March of Dimes Blue Jeans for Babies Dance! For only $2, we were able to attend a rockin' dance ;) **not required to attend, you can have all the free time in your life** (11pm-6am) "curfew" DAY TWO: (7am-11am) LDI Closing Session! Complimentary breakfast from the Marriot Hotel. Jim Danz– Software Engineer at Ness Computing received the opportunity to close the conference. Members received "graduating honors" certificates!!!
