the black stripe was added for the aids crisis, im not really sure what the brown is needed for, since the rainbow flag is for ALL gay men, in my opinion its not really matchable with a bright and colorful flag like the gay flag, since brown is a dark color, it doesnt fit. and any flag is inclusive of literally everyone, the brown stripe is unneeded in my opinion

the brown stripe is there to draw attention to poc lgbt folk. i can’t speak for everywhere but ik that in philly the “gayborhood” is extremely racist (going as far to have a dress code that includes stuff like “not having pants below x” which, stereotypically poc men sag their pants.) it’s not necessarily there to match the bright and colourful aesthetic, it’s there for representation.

I think of it in this way: because Ace/aro is how you love, inclusing it would mean that cishets who: fall in love easily, who get to know the person and then love, who have one-nightstands, who show love a certain way and others would be considered LGBT. Probably doesn't make really sense, because the length of the ask is limited. These aren't 100% examples tho, I thought I might join in and share and see if you see any problems in this one.

heyo! uhm my big this is lgbt is who u love not how! ace/aro is how so therefore it’s not lgbt. also i’m saying that ace/aro people who are cishet aka cis and heteroromantic/sexual aren’t lgbt. if ur a lesbian and ur aro, ur lgbt. not cause ur aro but bc ur a lesbian. if ur bi and ace ur lgbt, but not bc ur ace but cause ur bi. make sense? (to build on the it’s about who, not how, look at the rest of the acronym (excluding the t(not saying we should drop the t!!! trans people are lgbt!!!)) l is lesbian which is a woman loving a woman. g is gay which is a man loving a man (or a woman loving a woman) and b. which is bisexual which is loving both genders. so based off those, i don’t see how ace/aro fit into that grouping.)

heyo! first off i believe the full acronym is lgbt but i will respect people’s identities cause i really don’t have an issue with it. secondly, i don’t think aro/aces are lgbt cause i believe that the lgbt community is about who you love, not how you love them.
