Harvey’s shoulders relax a millimeter, still kind of really on edge about Anna as he watches her take the first bite of her burger before he looks back to James.

"Me? No. I don’t have the time for a relationship between work and school. I feel like a special someone deserved a good bit of my time too, you know?" he says with a shrug, leaning on the booth, toes pointed so her rest on a stopper.

"How nice." Anna smiled as she put the burger back on her plate. "It sounds like any girl would be absolutely lucky to have a fine gentlemen like you." she said, as she glanced over at James. "Well I'm gonna have to go, you two." Anna said as she slid her way out of the booth. "Maybe we'll be seeing  each other real soon. Goodbye." Anna smiled and winked at Harvey before leaving the diner. "She's... Not a people person, obviously..." James slightly chuckled. "...Are you going on break any time soon?"

Harvey nods, smiling because he’s learned to let scenes like that roll off his back, “Yeah, fine, I had to grab your order anyway.” He says kindly.

Harvey comes back a bit later with a tray in his hand, burger ans pizza held there as he quickly stops just short of the table. He laughs and gives them a wink, “I’m getting the hang of it.” he assures, placing the food items in front of the siblings. 

"So, your girlfriend?" Harvey asks, leaning on the opposite booth seat.

"Girlfriend?" James and Anna both said at the same time. Anna laughed before grabbing her burger. "Like he could ever stick with a girl long enough to have a girlfriend." She muttered before taking a bite out of the burger. James sighed and rolled his eyes at Anna. "No girlfriend." he muttered. "How about you?"

Harvey lets out a long mumbled “Uuuuuuh”, so very confused as he fumbles out of the booth and, lucky for him, the moment he’s out of the booth he looses his balance on his skates and he’s flailing every where, begging for a steadying force. He almost lifts the table up, falling onto his knees, arms still on the table to keep him off his face. He laughs hesitantly, hoping to lessen the humiliation, “Sure, burger for Anna, I’ll…go do that.” he chuckles.

He slowly stands on his wheels, promptly loses his balance for only a moment before he steadies himself and stands straight, “Sorry, I’m okay, I’ll get that burger for you.”

Anna couldn't help but laugh at Harvey. James reached over to help but Ann stopped him. "No- No! This is to funny!" She laughed, her face was already starting to get red."You go do that" Anna chucked and wiped tears away from her eyes once Harvey found his balance. James slightly frowned. "Are you alright?"

Harvey smiles at James, glancing at him from the corner of his eyes. He’s just barely started to turn his focus back on James to respond before the girl comes up to the table. Harvey makes eye contact with her and quickly looks away, looking to James like this is all him and he’s about to book it, “Maaaybe I should go check on your order.” he says softly to James.

"Yeah. Maybe you should do that." The girl said before James could even open his mouth. "No. I doubt it's ready yet..." James said and glared at the girl for a few seconds. "Anna, this is Harvey. Harvey, this is my sister, Anna." he sighed before she pushed him over so she could sit. "Nice to meet you, Harvey. Could you go check on that order and add a burger?" she smiled at him.

Harvey shrugs, “Well there is this one book that I love more than the rest. It’s called Pirated of the Caribbean. It’s a whole set of books actually, following the adventures of a pirate captain named Jack sparrow. They are all very…interesting, exciting, full of adventure.” He says, looking out the window of the booth, sighing, “I wish I was reading those now, the books over on the booth are my school books.”

James couldn't help but smile at Harvey as he looked out of the window and sighed. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say they're not interesting like the books of Jack Sparrow." He chuckled and before he could say anything else a girl had wandered up to their table. "James. Hi. I thought we were going to meet up today." she said and glanced at Harvey before focusing her attention back on James.

Harvey hums, “Well if you think that I can’t really change your mind, now can I?” he says, smiling easily, softly, “But maybe…I could lend you one of my favorite books? Just to skim, I wont make you read it, i don’t even know if you’ll like it or not.”

"Wha- No.. Um. Thanks, but no thanks. Like I said, reading just isn't really my thing." he  mumbled as he opened up the straw and dropped it in his root beer before taking a sip. "What are your favorite books?"

Harvey rolls his eyes, sure the boy is exaggerating, “You can’t mean that.” he points out, holding out his hand, “Didn’t you even read a good book for a class assignment? Or maybe learn an easier way to do a complicated math problem? Or maybe learned something in a science course that helped you pull a prank on someone?” he lists on his finger, smiling cheekily, “I know i did.”

"Whenever I went they were learning something stupid, that was never going to help me with life, or they were learning something that I already knew." James was lying, especially about the last part. Truth was, he couldn't go to school, not with how much help his family needed. "And I don't read for fun. That's stupid."

Harvey smiles, shrugging, “Bit of both actually. Studying to be the next big doctor but I love myself a good thriller.” he admits, shrugging. “I really want to…bring a name to this town, you know? Home to the first person to…oh I don’t know, cure the flu or something silly like that.” he mumbles, fingers fiddling in his lap

"The flu? Right." James chuckled. "Well. I hate reading and never plan to go to school again. The couple of years I did decide to show up were- It did me no good. I learned absolutely nothing."

Harvey sighs with relief and plops down in the opposite end of the booth, “Thanks, bud, I needed that. You have no idea how much i hate these things, I’m clumbsy enough on my feet.” he insists with a laugh, leaning forward to adjust into the seat.

"What do you want to know? About…me, right? Not Gladys?" he teases, smiling brightly as he rests his cheek on a soft fist.

"Yeah..." James slightly chuckled. "About you... When I walked in you had your face buried in some book. Do you go to school or something, or are you one of those weird people who do that for the fun of it or something?"

Gladys scoffs at the end of the bar and Harvey chuckles to himself, shaking his head as he pins up his order in the kitchen window. He skates back with the float in his hand, his stop no less graceful but luckily he didn’t fill the glass up enough to slosh to bad, “The name’s Harvey, Harvey Cooper.” he introduces, placing the cup and a straw on the table, “And you’re James Acton, bad news boy extraordinaire from what I hear.” he teases, leaning cool-y on the table.

James couldn't help the grin that appeared on his face. "So, I see Gladys has been talking about me. I'm touched." he bit his lip once again and glanced down at Harvey's skates. "Harvey- Correct? Why don't you sit for a bit. I'm sure my food won't be ready for another five minutes and it doesn't look like you really know how to work those things yet... I'd also like to get to know you a bit."

Harvey scoffs, rolling his eyes, “Its a new thing with city folk, if you ask me they’ll be gone by next week and I’ll say amen to that.” he sighs before scribbling on his note pad, “A pizza slice or something and a root bear you get cause Gladys is a girl who is not interested.” he teases, laughing softly.

Harvey looks down at him, raising a brow and smiling easily, “Only proper to give me yours first, pal, sorry.” he chuckles, rolling away, “Have that ready when I come back with that root bear!” he calls from behind the bar counter, getting the root beer ready in a glass coca cola glass. “Wanna make it float, bud?”

"Yeah. Sure. thing." James said as he tapped his foot against the floor. "My name's James, and I hope they don't take the skates away. They're... Cute- On Gladys who is obviously into me." he grinned as he turned to face her. "Now, tell me your name." James said, turning back to Harvey. He knew he was disturbing everyone else around him, but he never really paid any mind to them. Besides, most of them knew how he was already.

Harvey looked up at Gladys when she turned to him with a “Can you believe him?” He shakes his head laughing and looking back at his text book only to have the guy call out to them. the young man just sighs, “You not gonna serve him?”

Gladys just scoffs, “Noooo way.” she mutters, going back to counting her tips leaving Harvey to groan, sighing as he pushes up and skates to the young man in the booth, “How can I help you?” he asks, pulling out his note pad and giving a soft ‘oof’ as he fumbles to still himself, cursing the new addition to the “uniform” as uncle Dan called it.

James slightly chuckled and looked down at Harvey's feet. "Nice." He smirked and looked back up. "You could start by getting Gladys to maybe talk to me, but if you can't make that happen, then I'll take a slice of pizza, or something and a root beer." he shrugged. "What's your name?"

This was the first time James had wandered into the local pizza place in months. The last time he had been there he was apparently banned for life by the owner but James knew he had to get over the incident sooner or later. He winked at one of the waitresses he knew as he walked in and took a seat at one of the booths that were lined up along the window. After a few minutes of waiting he looked over at her again and smirked. He cocked his head a bit to the side, telling her he wanted her to come over but she ignored him and turned to someone else who worked there- someone James wasn't as interested in getting served by. "I'm a bit hungry over here, babe. So if someone can serve me, that would be nice." he called over to them and bit his lip.
