âI donât know, itâs been a few years. Maybe youâre not the chug champion I once knew,â she said, playfully challenging him though, in truth, he was probably better equipped than she was. She wasnât convinced she could still drink as much as she had in college, it had been a while since sheâd been blackout drunk at a party but she wasnât about to let that get in the way of anything. âVIP experience, huh? Canât wait to add it to my Instagram Story,â she noted, half joking. On the one hand, she did want to post about it, let the people who cared know that she wasnât just wrapped up in a blanket on her bedroom floor crying over a YouTube clip of Wrigley Stadium, on the other hand, she didnât wan to seem like a douchebag on social media. A bashful grin decorated her features as Benji repeated her rather unpoetic turn of phrase, âOnly if you give me credit for it and I want at least two cents for every web page click,â she joked, making a mental note to take a photo of AIR with a similar caption. âEnthusiasm, when I have no fucking idea what Iâm doing, is my specialty,â she assured him with a laugh as she followed his lead, âIâŚâ she started, did she like it? She wasnât sure yet. The transition had been difficult, scary, confusing. It was hard to say how she felt about the city before sheâd truly settled into it âYeah, itâsâŚinteresting,â she offered a fairly neutral adjective instead, âMy roommate is pretty cool, sheâs a local, she writes, sheâs nice,â she didnât know her particularly well just yet but they were off to a good start. âI just need to get my head around everything, you know? How long did it take you to settle in?â
"Itâs only been what? 2-3 years since I last saw you. Iâm still a fucking champion thank you very much.â Benji scoffed lightly. âLets go grab a pint of beer right now and see who can chug it down fastest.â he challenged teasingly, glancing back at her as they headed towards the cafe. It was a joke, but heâd definitely bring it up again when she did decide to come visit his club. It was probably too early to be chugging down beer right now anyway. âI mean....I could just let you wait in line, but you might get bored and leave and I donât want that to happen.â he shrugged, grabbing the door for the cafe once they had arrived and then motioning his hand into the building as if to tell her to go in first. âHmm......nah, no deal. Iâll take credit for your comment and pull in all the money for myself. Maybe buy a jet? Or another club...â he thought out loud, joking obviously. âDonât worry though--- I never usually know what Iâm doing either. Especially these past few weeks.â twins were definitely a lot different to handle than just one baby and Benji had been realising that more and more each day. âYeah, I get that. It took me a while to get my head around everything. I was kind of worried to bring my kids here because new environment, new school, different house--- I miss my family like crazy as well. Theyâre all back in New York at the moment. Iâd say it took me a few months to get settled in. Hopefully it doesnât take you months to do the same. Itâs nice though--- to have a familiar face around.âÂ
