“Well.” She gives a little shrug, her smirk very satisfied. “Maybe there’s a ghost. A ghost that...needs to leave lip prints on the mirror after they apply lipstick.” She shrugged again, not bothering to hide her amusement. “That sounds plausible to me.”

Raking her hair back away from her face; her expression takes on one of extreme concentration. The felt tipped liquid eyeliner pen was steady in her hand as she drew a pattern of hearts and diamonds on the blonde’s temple, the tiny shapes following the line of her cheekbone like a trickle of water. “This is getting very avant garde.” Her voice was soft; not a whisper, but still travelling no farther than between the two of them.
Bruce looked at Selina taking everything the woman said in, it wouldn’t surprise him either if someone was behind all of this after all there has been some villains that roams around here and some he knows all too well, he then heard Harley’s name he nodded. “I was informed she was here but I haven’t seen nor talked to her so maybe she is still in Arkham and it was just an imagination. I had an interesting run in with The Joker when I arrived here, keeping my eyes on him cause knowing him he would turn this little town into his own personal playground.” he sighed a little, he really didn’t want to have Batman come to this small town he really want to keep Batman closed off but if all hell breaks loose then he may have to rather he likes it or not. “Not all of us have the best track record for anything, I know that from experience.” he said as he kept his focus on her. “But we all try to do better I guess.”
“Yeah, I’ve seen that one around,” she said, huffing a dark little laugh. She cared for the Joker just about as far as she could throw him; which had about as much to do with the messy mayhem he inflicted as it did with how he treated someone she considered herself close to. She glanced up at him and back down, fingers playing with the tassel at the end of her bookmark. There was an expression on her face that could almost be considered vulnerable, just a little hopeful. “The trying counts, huh?”
“Oh yeahm the so called Black House, I heard words on the street about it, I really don’t know what is going on why that house is playing with people’s head. It could be whoever brought us here, cause clearly everyone wouldn’t come here at once.” he said as he tried to make sense of things, he would think it was a work of someone but this is a whole new ball game everything is different and people are different. A smirk etched on Bruce’s face as he heard Selina say those words she don’t like. “But the look you give is priceless Selina, typical you.” he folded his arms over his chest. “It’s not that bad to say it.”
“You’d be surprised,” she spouts back in a dark tone, pouting just a little. For show. “After all, I don’t have the best track record with keeping them.” Her expression sobers, and she plays with the ends of a lock of dark hair for a moment, fingertips sussing out split ends. “Even if I wish I could.” Exhaling slowly, she says finally, “I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all connected. The houses, the town. Oh, and Harley’s here. And probably a few others.” It’s just fair warning, right? “Not that I think she’s doing much beyond what everyone else is doing.”
“Oh, trust me if you was Edward you would have left some kind of clue to let me know you are around after all Edward always wanted my attention.” he shrugged a shoulder as he listen to Selina, listening to exact words coming from this woman’s mouth he nodded. “Yeah, it would be unlikely for villains of your stature to just come here for something, I mean this town is on the small side and looks like nothing ever happens here.” he was pretty much rambling, as he cleared his throat he then tilted his head. “Oh come on, you can’t say promise to an old friend? I just want to see that look on your face as you say it.” he takes a deep breath. “Never know, some people have tendencies but I don’t think anything that would raise the alarm.”
“Of my stature? Bruce, you flatterer,” she says, grinning slow. “And you’d be surprised; something’s happening here. The houses have some kind of abilities, they play with people’s minds.” She shakes her head a little; still not sure what to think of that. “I’m still not sure if its some kind of chemical, hallucinogen, whatever.” She gives a shrug. “Not to mention the sheer volume of people here, from seemingly nowhere.” Pursing her lips, she grimaces, and finally spits it out. “I promise, alright? I promise I won’t be liberating anything from the wonderfully provincial people of this little hamlet.” She makes an uncharacteristically unguarded and childish expression, groaning with her tongue out. “Disgusting. A horrifying word.”
the woman’s response started off normal enough, though by the end of it, the empress could not help but be both confused and concerned. “i’m a nurse, maybe i can give you that free check up anyway? i’m not going to pry into your personal business, but it is rather concerning that you have lost some to begin with. do you happen to have any openings in your schedule? i am sure we can work something out.”
She immediately felt a little guilty for making the flippant remark; this girl was obviously far too sweet for Selina to be inflicting herself on her. “Oh, well, I’m fine,” she said, a little helplessly, biting the corner of her lip. She didn’t want the girl to think she was laughing at her. “I mean, the last time was a few years ago, I uh. Don’t think I suffered any permanent damage.” Feeling a little like she owes her something, she adds, “But uh. Sure. I guess I’m available any time.”

Bruce took a seat in front of Selina, listening to her speak he nodded his head. “In a way yeah, I thought of going somewhere else but I wind up in Stonefield.” he takes a deep breath as he listen to her some more he smirked a little. “Oh yeah like I always flash my importance around.” he made a pfft noise as he rolled his eyes. “I’m taking a guess…..you are planning something and of all places it would be in this oh how you say a village?”
A low laugh escapes from her; her expression rife with amusement. “Please, I’m not Edward, Bruce,” she said, one corner of her mouth still tugged up as she pulled her sunglasses from her face and folded them, placing them on her book. “And there’s nothing this little town has to offer me in that regard. You of all people should know, you’re supposed to punch up, not down.” Combing her hair away from her face, Selina plays with it a little as she says, “I don’t intend to take anything from the people here, seriously. Don’t make me use the ‘p’ word. It burns my mouth.”
He saw the woman froze almost like he did something, he was slightly confused. Then when she mentioned cat ears, he knew exactly who she is. “Selina…” he said almost in a low tone then he cleared his throat. “It’s small I agree, it’s no Gotham but I needed to get away from Gotham, but I guess Gotham followed me.” he folded his arms over his chest. “What brings you here Selina?”
“Are you saying you’re here by choice?” Her eyes widen with disbelief for a moment, an amused huff of a laugh making it’s way out of her. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, using your millions in resources, gold bullion and priceless art to fund a trip to a village everyone else wants to leave.” She puts a bookmark in her book and closes it; raising an eyebrow as she reclines back in the metal framed chair, a pale calf crossing over the other just below the hem of her pale pink vivienne westwood dress. Hey, it was last season. “You know, maybe you’re just the man to figure that out.”
The voice it sounds familiar to Bruce, he shook his head not wanting to assume this is someone he know back in Gotham. He listen to the woman he just chuckled. “I’ll just take the direction and see where it takes me.” he said as he kept his focus on her. “I’m Bruce Wayne, and you are?”

The sight of him temporarily arrests her ability to speak. To her credit, she’s only silent for a scarce few seconds before her face smooths out again, a gentle smirk curling into more over her lips. “Never thought I’d catch sight of you here. Thought it might cramp your style. Should I get the cat ears out?” Her smile softens; just a little. “Hello Bruce.”

“Guess I never got house-trained, you fucking moldy freak,” she spat, blood dotting her chin as heat rose in the side of her face. That one was definitely going to leave a mark. Hands tied, goggles haphazardly left by her right ankle, she still kept her chin up.

Fresh start, fresh beginning, that was the plan for Bruce Wayne after the fight he had first with Superman then fighting the Creature that Lex Luthor created to attempt to end it all. Bruce was done with the everyday thing, how everyone know him and know Batman, but what really got to him was the death of Superman and Clark Kent after attending the funeral, Bruce decides it was time to just leave Gotham and also Metropolis once and for all.
Which brings us to the now, Bruce realized he is in Stonefield, England by the sign. Good, no one would even know who he is it’s as tho he went incognito and not to reveal his true self well not for a while anyways. Bruce walked down the streets, passing by different people trying to get to know the place, of course he doesn’t know his way around real good he stopped when he noticed someone approaching.
“Excuse me, I probably gonna sound like a typical tourist or something but do you know where the nearest Coffee shop is?”
Eyes still on her book, ( jesus, but she’d had plenty of time to read here, she still wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing ) Selina pursed her lips. “Honestly, I’ve been here long enough that I barely qualify as a tourist myself, and I still couldn’t tell you.” She looked thoughtful. “A block up and two over? Or is it two blocks up and one over? Next to a dress shop? Or a book store? Hell if I know.”
stapling another flyer to the community bulletin board, katarina sighed contently and then placed her hands on her hips, giving a proud nod afterwards. blood donations were incredibly low lately, so she had managed to convince the hospital to offer fifty dollars and a free check-up with each donation. scooping up the rest of the flyers, she then turned away from the board and figured now would be the perfect time for some canvasing.
“good afternoon! could i interest you in fifty dollars and a FREE check-up?”
“Mm.” Selina’s eyes scanned down the flyer presented to her, uncertainty in her raised eyebrows. “For...donating blood?” It wasn’t something that she’d ever done before; the blood bank wasn’t known for making solicitation calls in a place like Gotham, and to be truthful she’d never really had the time. “I don’t know, I think I’ve unintentionally lost enough blood in this life time, I probably shouldn’t give any away.”
Although she’s a bit peculiar to him, he finds that she is insightful regardless. Making good sense of her words and Bruce even seems to take note, intently listening. Watching her distinguish the flame with just a pinch of her fingers, brows raise a little. “So it you should be in between then? Don’t allow it to consume you but neither let it make you impulsive.” he wonders only to cant his head a little to one side. “Bat..kids?” Confusion lacing his tone, features crease before shaking his head, “I don’t believe I understand. ..Who’s ‘he’ exactly? No, my name’s Bruce.”
“Exactly.” She’s pleased he understood what she was trying to communicate; kids aren’t always her strong suit, even if this one seems about twelve going on forty. His name, however, completely throws her. Her mouth falls open, her expression visibly shaken. “Bruce Wayne?” The name comes out automatically, she can’t help it. Selina could ask if she’s being played with, if this is some elaborate practical joke, only she knows that’s not really his thing.
She’s proud of being a villain, to break hearts, to split souls and to leave wounds wherever her mad eyes settle on.

The glance down at the bartop was enough of a notion to tell that she didn’t want to talk about it. ❝I was raised, the term used freely, by Tomas and Eliza Parkinson. I’m from Wiltshire, England.❞ She scoffed before pulling from the bottle again.
“Shipped you off and let boarding school raise you, didn’t they?” Selina was guessing, but it would have made sense with her overly formal speech. Was finishing school even a thing anymore? “I have friends like that.”
