Rory had been excited for the ball when it had been announced. Dazzled by the beautiful decorations, she walked onto the dance floor, swaying to the music. She had yet to make it to the punch bowl, but she needed to dance her way to thirst first. “This is such an amazing song!” she laughed. 

Roxanne was nothing if not a fan of school dances. It may have seemed ridiculous to anyone else, but that fact mattered little to her; seeing everyone dressed up, and entering the normally -what she deemed to be- abysmal grand hall to something so beautifully decorated was...well. She couldn’t describe it. Hearing the other’s comment, she turned to Rory with a nod. “She’s fantastic, isn’t she?” Grinning, she held out a hand to the girl next to her with a simple request: “Dance with me!”

“I mean…. it definitely could.” Annette was more than happy to allow Roxanne to rummage through her closet, trusting the other girl’s judgement. She snorted, shaking her head, “Yeah, the professor thing isn’t really–no, nope. I think I’ll pass on that one,” She said with a laugh, standing up to look at the dress she’d picked, “Oooh, I love that one! You know just what vibe I’m going for Rox–now let’s pick shoes. I need something that makes me look–well, not tall but you know, not this short.” She waved her wand, bringing out all of her shoes, “And what about you? Have you got yourself a date?”

“It depends on the professor,” Roxanne admitted with a thoughtful look on her face, carefully folding the dress so it didn’t get messed up before placing it on the end of Annette’s bed. “I mean, there are total no go’s. But some would definitely make the list.” She grinned and sat down on the bed to look through the shoes. “Oh, yes. Netflix and some Firewhiskey,” She laughed. Picking up a shoe, Roxanne held it besides the dress, lips pursed. After a moment she shook her head and put it back down. “No, no, those don’t go. Yeah, no one asked this time around. But it’s cool, going stag is fun too!” Roxanne shot a grin in the other’s direction. It did bother her that no one had asked her, but she wasn’t going to admit that. “What matters is that you do, so we’ve got to get you looking your finest.”
