Hi there. Are you immediately related to anyone named Miguel? You resemble an older gentleman i used to know in Brooklyn NY very much.
No, I’m not related to any Miguel, sorry, but I am an older gentleman in Washington Heights, NY.
Just be the freaking person who cares more. Be the person who tries harder, loves stronger, gives more of a shit than all of the half-alive people who surround them. Be the person who answers their messages, shows up to their commitments and doesn’t leave others hanging or guessing at their eternally vague intentions. Be the person you wish you were dating. If you’re sick of the game then stop playing it. If you’re tired of the bullshit, then cut it.

Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.

Be still, my heart, thou hast known worse than this, on that day when the Cyclops, unrestrained in fury, devoured the mighty men of my company…

My models–my private models–are not Hemingway, not Faulkner, not Dos Passos, or indeed any American writer. I model myself on jazz musicians, dancers, a couple of whores, and a few junkies. –James Baldwin, hallelujah amen.
As I keep practicing and as the years tick by, I’ve noticed the cycles of being inspired or uninspired get longer. Wouldn’t you say that one of the things that distinguishes an advanced practitioner from a beginner is that the advanced student knows about the uninspired cycles, understands they can be lasting, but is not dependent on inspiration to get on the mat?
Be Strong, Kind, Bold, Humble & Confident. #mantra
Don’t cling to things, because everything is impermanent.

Charasteristics of the Human Ego
Whenever you catch yourself engaged in any if these, shift into observing mode and watch the process.
“Wake before dawn and face East to worship the sun. Again and again do the pranayama and you will enjoy good health. Practice asana, eating moderately with a stable mind, worship the Lord – now santi overflows. Begin the day by worshiping the feet of God and Guru. Then do asana and pranayama, remembering the words of the Teacher. Practice pranayama with attention. Then, when the breath becomes long and smooth, the mind is ready for meditation. Rid your body of impurities, let your speech be true and sweet, feel friendship for the world, and with humility seek wealth and knowledge. Asana will make the body light, Pranayama strengthens prana, Dharana purifies the intellect, Meditation purifies the mind”. ~Sri Krishnamacharya

Bhujapidasana Clearing
At the end of last week I started doing Bhujapidasana. For the first couple of days I could barely get my feet up from behind my arms, let alone clear the floor without summoning what seemed like superhuman strength to get out of the pose. Today, with the guide of my teacher, I pointed and pressed my feet under, flexed my spine, pressed my legs coming up, to my total amazement, clearing the floor. With the excitement I swang my legs straight past Bakasana, belly flopping into a fit of ecstasy, laughing hysterically.

With the help of my teacher Bibi I was able to bind, like actually grab the top of my right foot with my right hand behind my back for the first time, ever.
That was right after I had said "I can't.." when she asked why don't I bind. Nevertheless, she gave me the look, you know look, the ‘oh brother!!” look and so, I went ahead and tried it and lo and behold I could, also bind on my right side already after two years of practice. I have brought my body to do it.
