Where have I been?

Hey yall. As you’ve definitely noticed my activity on this account has been practically dead (aside from some reblogs here and there) and I just wanted to let yall know:

Firstly, the new university I transferred to is much much more difficult/time consuming compared to the last one I was at, so I’ve been swamped with more work than I’m used to.

Secondly, since May I’ve slowly started being burnt out with fire emblem as a whole to the point now I’m kinda tired of the series. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t love fe or it stopped being my special interest, I think I just need a break from this franchise/fandom.

Because of all of this, running this blog stopped being fun and while it was always kinda stressful to manage, I can’t really continue doing this without having any passion.

Will I ever return to this specific blog ever again? Probably not. Will I ever make a different smash or pass blog for a different fandom? Idk. Especially since the fandoms that I want to do already have dedicated smash or pass blogs and I’m not sure if those owners are ok with another person basically doing the same thing as them, and honestly I don’t think I have the energy/time to run another smash or pass blog in the near future. Will I ever make a different poll blog? I have ideas on what kinda poll blogs I’d like to run, but again, I’m not sure if I have the time or energy to do so.

So what’s gonna happen to this blog? I’m still gonna keep it up and most likely reblog stuff, like other polls or boosting tournaments/smash or pass blogs/whatever. Maybe I’ll do a rerun on the giving you a digimon based on 3 words since that was really fun to do, but that’s definitely going to have to happen during my spring break. However there’s definitely not going to be a lot of activity here.

Finally, if someone out there wants to make their own fire emblem smash or pass blog then you 100% have my blessings! Just @ me and I’ll definitely boost it. And if you need some tips/pointers on running the blog just dm me!

BOSS VILLAIN MADE OF GOLD. i love (derogatory) how the whole design looks like it would SOUND awful. like you can look at her and hear clinking and scraping, metal-on-metal, the kind of noise that makes your teeth hurt. bg3 does this a lot where you can tell the “texture” of a boss just by looking - gerringothe looks loud, heavy, and restrictive. and that’s the point: greed isn’t sleek, it’s suffocating. she’s not a dragon sitting on treasure, she’s a person who tried to become treasure and now can’t move without dragging the whole hoard with her. genuinely such a clean visual metaphor, and also just… one of the most memorable silhouettes in the shadow-cursed lands because nobody else looks like a gilded coin-sarcophagus doing a squat.

Round 3, Match 13 — Viperian (AFK Journey) vs. Titania (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn)

Probably one of the best female character designs in all of fire emblem, maybe even in all of gaming in a medieval setting. 1. The armor looks practical/realistic for someone who needs to be actually protected while being light enough to ride a horse. 2. She actually looks like she would be around her canon age (30-33) 3. Her color palette is amazing and I want to give a special mention to her green eyes. It’s noticeable but not in a bad way! It does an amazing job at giving that little bit of contrast needed for a great color palette. 4. Her braid. Just… wow. And finally, she’s a woman with an axe and women with axes automatically makes a design cool.

Round 3, Match 9 — Allister (Pokemon Shield) vs. Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)

Sonic propaganda:

Sonic is a character meant to represent speed, and his design shows it perfectly. His quills are always behind him, almost like they're being pushed back from how fast he runs. Then there's also the fact he's mainly blue, which is often associated with speed due to sea waves and lightning often being blue rather than the iconic yellow we see in other designs such as Pikachu. Sonic also has great contrast and solidarity, as his green eyes work harmoniously with his blue quills while his red shoes draws the eyes to his method of running due to how much it contrasts with his quills. Then his arms are actually a peach color, similar to the skin of a white person, which makes great for additional contrast and makes him stand out when pixelated as his first introduction was in the 16-bit Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Sega Genesis, and it's not out of place due to his mouth and belly being the same color. Then, the renders he's often put into showcase his carefree personality, driven to be free like the wind while chasing thrills. The biggest example would be his Sonic Adventure 1 render or his Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Render, where he breaks out a cool pose while dashing through the air as if nothing can phase him. After all, what fun is an adventure without risks and thrills?
