Ireland! Such a great place to visit. Everybody is so friendly, the pints are tasty and it's hoodie weather year round. We visited the Cliffs of Moher and saw the ocean from way up high. We took my friends' baby, Estlin Luna, out to the sea. We've enjoyed the rain and the sub, sometime at the same time! I'm so glad to be here after 10 years away, and I'm super glad to have such nice friends here.

We’ve made it to our last country on the trip, Ireland! I studied abroad here nearly 10 years ago (which makes me feel crazy old!), and met some folks who were staying with now in Dublin. Yesterday Ed made us a “proper fry" consisting of bacon, sausage, hash browns, white pudding (another form of sausage tat contains oatmeal), egg and baked beans. The traditional Irish food isn’t quite as delicate as the food on mainland Europe.

Afterward he drove us out to the Wicklow mountains. The mountains in Ireland are more like hills. Still beautiful though!! Denè and I are pictured above huddling in our hoodies as it is waaaaay cooler here than in the other places we’ve been. He also took us to a Hindu sculpture garden in Ireland. Not the most traditional, but fascinating!

Today we explore Dublin city center. It will be fun to see how much I actually remember.

So this post is a little late (considering we've been in the Netherlands for a few days now), but here are some of the highlights of Brugges, Belgium--a quaint little town about 20 km from the North Sea: • Belgians make delicious craft beer. • between the streets are canals--both pretty and very helpful when navigating. • My family is part Belgian, so it was fun to find restaurants with my grandpa's name, Jules, plastered all over them (that doesn't happen in the States!) • the food. Isn't that always the highlight of every European city? Belgium is famous for good mussels, inventing the French fry and waffles. BELGIAN WAFFLES IN BELGIUM ARE THE BEST WAFFLES I'VE EVER EATEN. Hands down. You buy them from carts or windows on the street and they put whipped cream or delicious Belgian chocolate (another specialty) on it, and you eat it "on-the-hand"--they're way of saying to-go. Also, they dip their French fries on mayo, which I kind of love... •renting bikes! We were able to get around so fast, see all the sights and just enjoy our day.
