“Do you ever just get the urge to shave all your hair off completely? Because i- i mean, i do. Imagine how much easier everything would be without having to worry about your hair on- on top of everything else!”
“Well, I mean, I have thought about it before! But, i never actually think I’ll go through with it, I think I like my hair too much! Why though? Are you going to shave all your hair off?”
“Of course the beach, what else?” Asteria replied simple. Thankfully for Asteria, Nyx was always more open to things like this than any of their other peers and she definitely didn’t disappoint. Grinning in return, the blonde replied holding up her bag and bucket in her hand. “I’m way ahead of you, I’ve researching stereotypical earthen beach culture and came up with these. I think they will suffice.”
“Wow, Asteria, you’re honestly the perfect beach buddy! You thought up of everything already?” Nyx replies with a bright smile. She hadn’t been to the beach in a while, and she definitely didn’t mind accompanying Asteria to the beach if she really wanted to go. “I mean, I’ll need to drop by my dorm to get a swimsuit and a towel – if you want to go in the water, I mean? We can spend the day by the boardwalk or go in the water?” She pauses. “Well, if we hurry we could probably do both!”
“Thankfully, this school isn’t one for a lot of jaw dropping drama lately– I think you should be glad you didn’t come back to all that fallout.”
“I know, I've been here for my fair share of extremely dramatic events. It's crazy the stuff that goes on sometimes, isn't it? Even if I like hearing about the drama around here sometimes, i think I prefer it to not be so dramatic around here. It’s always a big mess, you know what I mean?”
“i’m not really a… drama-y person. sorry.”
“No, no, it’s okay, don’t apologize! I’ll let you in on something; I’m not really a drama-y type person either. I prefer just not causing drama, you know what I mean? Sometimes though, I’m interested in all the drama that happens though, just because I would personally not do it. Does that -- does that make sense?”
“Assumedly you were talking to me because you wanted or needed something from me, so it’s not all that detrimental to me if you don’t repeat it.”
“Hmm, that’s a good point you have there, I’m gonna have to admit. What makes you think I want something from you though? Maybe I’m trying to be social and make conversation with my fellow schoolmates!”
“I try to avoid drama, if at all possible…”
“I do too. Getting involved in drama always gets really messy and I’d rather not get tangled in it. It’s interesting to hear what happens around here sometimes, though."
Sorry to disappoint?
“I’m not exactly disappointed, so don’t worry uh -- wait. I’m sorry, I don’t even know your name!”
does anyone want starters/plot with nyx, summer, or deshi? i’m in desperate needs of threads and plots for all three, honestly.
“Apparently, none of the drama I shared seems to be good enough to drop your jaw. Maybe you can make some.”
“Me? Make drama? I think you got the wrong girl here! I’m not the drama making type of person. I’m more of the person who listens to all the drama after it happens. I have to admit though, hearing that someone actually glued their dorm door closed is pretty interesting.”
“Told you I don’t go out a lot. Got the wrong guy here.”
“Nah, that’s okay. I probably shouldn’t be trying to get entertainment off other people’s misfortunes, anyway. I don’t go out much myself, if I’m being really really honest? Sometimes staying in is just better, you know what I mean?”
“Yep, that is all. You were expecting more here? Really?”
“I think so! I was expecting something totally shocking -- not that what happened wasn’t shocking, I was just expecting, well, more. What are you going to do now, then?”
“Is that really all? I was expecting jaw dropping drama!”
“Sorry, I didn’t catch that, can you repeat yourself?” Alex said, hastily shoving the photo back into his pocket.
“I mean, I could.” Nyx replies, her own gaze directed at the phone she held in her hand. She glances up at the boy. “I guess the real question is if I actually want to repeat myself.”
“Hey hi- You- hey wait-!” Asteria called following after the other. “You’re coming to the beach with me- no no no I don’t want to hear the ‘it’s too cold’ ‘i don’t want to’. Okay? We’re going. I’ve never been and I’ll buy you ice cream there. Deal?”
“The beach?” Nyx raises her eyebrows slightly, looking at the other girl with a grin. “Well, if we’re gonna go, we have to pack snacks and get beach towels and all that kind of stuff!”
Jaspar slammed the phone shut and quickly tossed it as far as he could. “Fuck off,” he shouted before turning back to see someone standing behind him. “Shit….I didn’t mean you. I….do you need something or are you just going to keep staring?”
“I mean, you seem kind of..” Nyx pauses, staring at her hands for a few seconds as she thought of the right word. “Stressed, I guess? Or maybe angry.” She pauses, wondering if asking if the other was okay would be passing a line. Figuring to go for it, she tilts to her to the side before asking. “You okay?”
“I’m terribly sorry, but may I intrude for a moment? I do think I have a bit of an insight on the topic.”
“Please do! I’m not really too knowledgeable about this kind of of stuff, if I’m being honest, can you tell?”
